Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
The hitch receiver came in a sturdy oversized box containing no padding to secure the hitch, possibly explaining the two large holes in the box. There was no immediately visible damage to the hitch but when I measured the distance between the mounting flanges at the forward and rear corresponding edges there was about 1/2 inch difference, suggesting that they were bent presumably during shipping. Fortunately, I was able to mount it to my 2018 RAV4 Hybrid Limited without the need to bend anything. The installation went pretty smoothly except for some fiddling to disconnect the muffler hanger, and I broke two of the plastic fittings that hold a plastic panel in place over the driver side mounting area. I replaced the plastic fittings with some bolts and nuts so no worries. This was a 1-man install job which I accomplished by using a floor jack to raise the hitch into position. Shipping was super fast! I received it the day after I ordered it. All in all I think I will be really happy with this purchase.
The package came fully opened on top and the item Curt C13149 got all this chip all over it. The shiny topcoat is almost worn out. I'm thinking of returning this since this item looks like used already although the bolts are not.

Hole slots on hitch did not match up with bolt holes on the frame of my 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure. Used the trick others have mentioned of spreading the hitch a half an inch with a 4x4 and a hydraulic jack and it worked out okay but still, someone needs to look into this problem that I and others are having.
No problem. However, I am moving up, changing the RAV4 2015 for a RAV4 SE Hybrid 2018. Looking to transfer the trailer hitch. Is it possible

Too narrow for the 2002 rav 4. Only able to attach 1 side at a time because this hitch is about 1/16” too narrow.
Jasmine at etrailer.com was super helpful in helping me decide what trailer hitch to attach to my 2005 Toyota Rav4 to hook up a bike rack for a North American Road Trip. She made me feel confident in my decision to purchase the Curt hitch and now that it is installed I am more than happy with my purchase. Installation took about 10 minutes and the hitch seems very rugged and am looking forward to using it for many years to come. Thanks again! - Shane

Excellent product. I am a 68 year old woman with no jack and I installed the hitch by myself. So don't be scared, you can do this. Took me a few minutes, blocked it up and then installed with a torque wrench and also installed the bracket for the wiring connector. The wiring was pretty easy also. I did watch videos. They were great.
Product was great price and packaged well. It is solid and will allow for the bike rack to go onto the RAV4. There were a few issues that could easily trip up a novice/1st-timer: 1) The unit was overall approx 3/16" too narrow. So had to use a prybar to 'flex' it to get holes to line up. This was by far the longest part of the install (hence 4-star vs 5-star), 2) The photo for the trimming of the plastic was almost unusable, until spending some time with the part on the ground in front of me. A better picture (even in black and white) would be a good help.

PACKAGING/DELIVERY: Like most others, the packaging was damaged during delivery, but the hitch was fine and the attachment hardware was securely fastened to the hitch so all parts where included. INSTALLATION: The videos helped along with people's posts. The right (passenger) side IS a tight fit. I ordered the 19mm crow foot by Tekton off Amazon and ended up returning it because the it bent and actually rounded one of the corners on two bolts; 80+ foot-pounds of torque is a lot, I never did get my torque wrench to that because it would round the corners before it made the torque. Would be a nice addition if etrailer offered a quality part for that. Installation DEFINITELY goes smoother with two people. FIT: You do have to work it into position, but once you get it there, it fits nicely, just like the videos. We haven't used it yet, still need to get the right receiver and ball.
First, reaching the West Coast only took a week, which is not bad for 40 lbs of metal. I had issues with packing as I was worried there might be damage considering the rack was popping out of the box (see image). I contacted etrailer.com, and the response was quick. They told me it was normal, but if anything was missing, to contact them. I took everything out as it looked fine. The mounting was effortless, with four bolts into the frame, and presto! Overall great customer service, and if I need any other hitches, I know I'm sticking to etrailer

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
So far, so very good! I bought this for a 2004 Toyota Rav4. My 21 year old F-350 is rusting away and I wanted an alternate means for occasional, light duty hauling. The hitch receiver arrived on time and was carefully packaged for shipment. Metal is hefty. Joints and welds look good. Had I unwrapped it before installation, I would have found the M12-1.25 bolts and studded washers which were stuffed inside the receiver proper. I also bought the wiring harness. I'm a newbie and was rather anxious about prying the plastic body panels open for wire routing. Careful review of the video accompanying the written installation instructions suggested starting at the top and working down. It was straightforward. Only glitch was that the wire bridging the driver and passenger sides was too tight for comfort. I spliced in an additional 8" and the system was working minutes later. About an hour, altogether. If I do it again, it'll be 30 minutes or less If you are considering an installation, please do review the instructions and video linked from the product page.
I was in an emergency hurry for this item and etrailer promised the fastest shipping compared to several other retailers. I'm a first time customer and etrailer came through. Product is as expected, and pricing was very competitive. Also, etrailer's tracking system is better and way more detailed than Fedex and UPS. I don't understand that, but UPS showed me like two entries while etrailer had a whole page of every event that happened throughout the delivery trip./ A+!

Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4"
My order was received complete and on time. My only problem was with the installation instructions. They were a little deficient. The instructions referred me to a website, but those instructions were basically the same as the printed instructions. Fortunately, there was an install video by etrailer on how to install a Drawtite trailer hitch on a 2018 RAV4 that was excellent.
The hitch was appreciated by my son for his Rav4. I was worried when notified it would be over 5 weeks to receive, but etrailer offered to change the order to receive it earlier. The sales people were kind and sympathetic concerning the order. It did come earlier than expected and everything was as promised.

etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2"
This seems to be a pretty solid hitch for the Rav4. The first hitch that etrailer sent was damaged in shipping before it got to me and was returned. The damage was obviously not etrailer's fault, but it took quite a while to get a replacement. I didn't hear anything after I saw that the damaged hitch had been returned, so I called in and spoke to an agent who was very helpful. She processed the replacement but it was a few days before it shipped. The installation was pretty straightforward, but one of the bolts that came with the hitch had no threads and I couldn't use it. The bolt is also too long to fit in the front hole on the passenger side, so I'll go get replacement from a hardware store.
Great product! Hint: On our 2022 RAV 4 hybrid it was easier to remove the muffler (2 bolts 14mm wrench and temp tie up exhaust pipe) to install hitch if doing it in your driveway.

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
I had the ECO-Hitch installed by my Toyota dealer on my brand new 2018 Rav4. The instructions that were sent with the hitch were poorly written and the pictures were basically black with some yellow highlights in them. Impossible to see what the picture was. There was so much confusion about what needed to be done to the 2018 to get the hitch in place. Out of all the confusion and my insistence that the hitch be hidden and no damage be done to the bumper it was finally done...it was hidden and a hole had to be cut into the bumper for the receiver. Better and more specific instructions for 2018 Rav4 would have been good. It took 4 hours to finally install it . Was happy with the hitch itself and looks good now.
Just installed the Ecohitch on my 2018 Rav4 Hybrid. The hitch is well made and fit my Rav4 just fine, nice and hidden. I was able to install this without jacking car up, I was able to reach everything just laying on my back. Lifting the hitch in place by myself was a bit of a puzzle, but if you get one of the forward bolts in the exhaust side, you can then lift the other side into place. Just a few notes, the instructions are for earlier years and the pics of the cover panels do not match. The hole you have to cut in instructions was 3/4" by 3 3/4". This was too small for my 2018. I had to cut a 1 1/8" by 3 3/4". It was still a little tight, 1.5" by 3 3/4" would have been better. The pass side end cover is not even close to the earlier models. I had to cut, test fit and try again and again. I had to fully cut one attachment point as well as a good sized piece from the side. The panel was too loose with the missing attachment, so I had to loop a long tie wrap around the hitch to firm up the cover. But everything did fit eventually. Looks very nice! I wish I remembered to order the rubber hitch cover when I ordered.

Pricing is good, shipping is fast. Manfacturing quality could be better - chain loops welded on crooked - visible to the eye (ongoing issue with Draw-Tite as I've had this on others from them). Packing is poor - ends/attach points poking through the box and scratched up. I've order a few receivers here - always the case. Plan on doing some touch-up painting before installation.
Well built and fits great on my 22' Rav4. Only complaint is the paint quality. Not sure if they used any primer, as some of the paint came off during shipping. Then some more came off where I rested the hitch on a jack to lift it into place when installing. I had to apply primer/paint to the bare metal to prevent rusting in the future.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4"
After reviewing the installation video, my husband and I (we are both seniors) were able to install this item fairly easily.
The hitch fit my RAV4 and works as advertised, but my son had a little more trouble with the installation than expected. Fortunately, a video helped him get the job done, and he was able to add his bike rack to the hitch. It does what he needed, and the price was reasonable.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
Install instructions excellent! Since I was installing on 4 year old car in the North East US it took a little longer. My vehicle was missing the passenger side frame rail cover and the frame mounting holes were crud. I had to use a 12mm-1.25 thread tap with an extension to clean them. Luckily I was able save the threads so bolts torqued to specs. If not my next step would have been to drill and tap the car frame mounting holes to SAE 1/2 inch 20 thread. Since this size is just a bit larger two new SAE 1/2-20 grade 8 bolts would have done the trick. Hopefully this helps anyone with issues as I did. I love the fact that the hitch cross tubing is not visible. Nothing worse than a rusty visible hitch that is inevitable in my climate. EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
Super easy install thanks to all the videos on your site. So far so good with the hitch and bike carrier, should have done it long ago.

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
This review is a little about the hitch, but more about the installation process in hopes of helping others and saving them some additional money. First of all, we bought two hitches: 1) 2004 Toyota Sienna = Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" - Item # 75237 and 2) 2007 Toyota Rav4 = Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" Item # 75235. Both frames arrived in excellent condition despite one of the boxes being damaged in shipping. They are obviously well built and meant to fit the specified vehicles. etrailer.com understands how to match vehicles and hitches. Both hitches fit perfectly and no alterations were needed for the hitches. We just finished installing them yesterday and look forward to using them with our new bike rack. Installation hints: 1) Make sure you have everything (tools, lubricant, brush, etc) ready and organized before you try to install your hitch. In my case, I was missing some tools I thought were in the garage and had to make other arrangements. The installation time in the etrailer videos (extremely helpful) is only accurate if you have everything prepped and you don't have any problems with the weldnuts (see #2 below). The actual installation is surprisingly straightforward and could be completed in close to the estimated time. One item you will need, that you might not have, is a torque wrench. Here's the first money saving tip, check with your local auto parts store, to see if they participate in a tool loaner program. Basically, you pick up the tool from their store and pay a deposit (which is the price of the tool), use it, return it, and get your deposit back. While many guys are looking for excuses to buy more tools, I opted to borrow a torque wrench as I don't see myself needing one in the future. If I do, I know where to borrow one :) 2) If your vehicles are a bit older, or if your vehicles operate in wet or snowy areas, there's a very good chance the vehicle weldnuts (threaded inserts - this is where the bolts will thread into) will have dirt, grime, and rust built up in the inserts. I strongly recommend taking the time to make sure your bolts will go into the weldnuts before you mess with the hitch installation. The weldnuts on our 2007 Rav4 were in great shape and only required me to spray in some lubricant (Sea Foam Deep Creep) and clean out with a wire tube brush (Nylon Tube Brush - 1/2" Item # 814092 etrailer.com). If I hadn't done this simple step, I wouldn't have been able to get the bolts to thread. Once I did this, the install was simple. I didn't spent much time doing this. Our 2004 Sienna was a different story. Besides being 3 years older, it also came from an area with more snow and they likely salted/treated the roads which contributed to the problem. Using the lubricant and brushing out several times was not sufficient to get the weldnuts clean enough. The good folks at the local auto parts store listened to the description of the issue I was facing in this installation project. The gentleman helping me said something like, "It sounds like you need to chase the threads to clean them out. We have a thread restorer kit in our tool loaner program." (see two screen shots from their website). I knew what a tap was, but hadn't heard of a thread chaser. I was able to use the thread chaser to clean out all of the junk built up in the weldnuts. In my case, this was a major project as they were in bad shape. I was also being cautious as I didn't want to mess up the threads. Some of the weldnuts required me to go part way in with the thread chaser, bring it out and clean it, relubricate the weldnut and chaser and go again several times. Some of the weldnuts were less problematic. In short, if you run into this issue, see if you can borrow this kit. The thread chaser is designed to be used with a socket and socket wrench. Always start the thread chaser by hand to ensure it isn't cross threaded. Once you're certain it's in the correct way, start slowly with the socket wrench or a drill with socket adapter. The instructions that come with your hitch will provide the specs on the bolts. In our case it the bolts were M12 x 1.25 (I think M12 has to do with the diameter of the bolt and 1.25 refers to the thread pitch (or spacing). 3) Torquing the bolts to spec. The bolts are in an awkward place to work with and torquing them to specification can be a challenge. The Rav4 process went well and I was able to complete this step on my own. Perhaps I was worn out while working on the Sienna or having trouble with the torque wrench, but I finally gave up to seek help. I didn't want to break the bolts! I ended up stopping by the shop which services our vehicles and they torqued to bolts to spec. Because we take our vehicles there on a regular basis, they didn't charge me to take care of the 6 bolts. In conclusion, if you prepare for the install by getting everything ready and your weldnuts are in good shape, this is not a difficult installation project. One of our hitches had 6 bolts and one had 5 bolts. Not rocket science. If your weldnuts are full of junk, try the steps I've mentioned above. Good luck.
When it was received there where two large sections of missing black paint on each end of the mounting plates. Lucky I had some black enamel spray paint and time to prep cure it before needing to install it. Installation went well. Recommend taking the time to cut the rear under tray to accommodate the hitch vs. running without the under tray installed. All is holding up well now a year later

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
The hitch arrived two days earlier than expected, which was great. All the parts were in the package and everything fit perfectly. I was lucky because the bolt holes for the 2012 Rav4 had tape over them from the factory, so they were very clean. Attached are a couple of pictures of how I was able to mount the hitch by myself by rigging my jack with a bungy cord. I am 77 years old and did this in about 45-55 minutes.
Very happy with the receiver. It is hidden behind the bumper which is the look we desired. Your website could use a picture of the receiver installed to illustrate the claim that it is hidden behind the bumper. Lastly, the receiver took a little "muscle" to get the last bolt hole lined up. The holes to the rear of the car lined up as well as one of the holes toward the front of the car but the last hole toward the front was about 1/2" off. That difference necessitated that I pry against the fuel tank to align the last hole while inserting the bolt. It seemed there was a minor bend in the mounting arm of the one side. I was successful in installing the receiver but thought you should know that the alignment was a little off.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
This was installed on a 2016 highlander le plus. As advertised it fits perfectly and looks great. As a DIY-er, I was able to successfully install this hitch alone and make the correct cuts in under an hour. The hitch weights about 50lbs and once you set it into position (with help from jack stands), the screws go right in. It really is as simple as the video available online. Highly suggest this hitch. If negative things happens I will post a follow-up review. I don't expect it. Worth the price!
I received the hitch on time and no damage to the box and no scratches on the hitch. The directions were easy to follow and had the hitch installed in about 1.5 hours, I didn't have to jack up my vehicle (2016 Toyota Highlander), the hitch was light enough that I was able to lay it on my lap and start a bold on each side then work my way back installing the remaining 4 bolts. I torqued the bolts to specifications as stated in the directions then installed the wiring harness, that only took 15 min start to finish. I towed a 5' x 8' [rental] trailer with furniture on a 8 hour trip with no issues. Buying the hitch was cheaper that renting a truck to move my daughter into an apartment for her Junior year of college. Thanks again for a great product at a great price.

This receiver hitch is heavy duty and very well made. The welds are all smooth and uniform, and the powder coating was great. The bolts and mounting hardware were shipped safely in a sealed plastic bag tucked inside the receiver tube. Install on my Nissan Truck was easy. I would recommend running the threads on the truck frame before attempting to bolt the receiver hitch in place as the factory bolt holes can get filled with dirt and grime.
Excellent fit and finish. Welds are great. Bolted right up - super easy with no problems - I bet it took only 20 minutes to install it to my 22 Frontier, using only a floor jack to support out and a 19mm socket. Shipping was super fast, 2 days. Both the product and etrailer are highly recommended.

2012 Sienna LE FWD. Watch the 2011 installation video before you start. This 13105 hitch tucks in even prettier than I expected, and now my brother is jealous. Note I made the cutout in the underbody panel narrower, starting 1.75 inches from the hole (see photo), for a closer fit, and there is still room for torque wrench. I also cut a slit out to the front edge, so I could slip it on with the hitch in place, and for better access to my air hoses inside the left fender. I decided to add Airlift after reading reviews, since on trips I carry a maximum load. Installed single-handed, raised on jack stands.

e trailer has nailed it as always. Shipped quickly, fit my vehicle perfectly, installation instruction video is spot-on and super helpful. I installed this by myself in about 2 hours start to finish and I’m super happy with how it turned out. Can’t speak to the longevity of the product yet but the initial experience has been great.
Fitment was such that where it mounted next to spare wheel well made getting spare out very difficult because it squeezed the tire. End of hitch was so far beyond the bumper an extension had to be used to prevent bike carrier hitting bumper. And it was sent to my old address even after updating the information by phone. Worst experience I've had with these people, I used to purchase all of my hitches from etrailer.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
Received the receiver in a slightly dented box. Everything inside looked fine, though. When I installed it, there was a small problem: the receiver didn't quite match up with the frame bolt holes. The holes nearest the bumper could be made to fit, but the hole nearest the wheels were about 1/8" too close, and I was able to secure only one side. While prying with a breaker bar, the bolts could be fastened, so I used one hand on the breaker bar and the other on the torque wrench to finally get it installed. It feels very sturdy, and looks fine. I have confidence that it will work well, but it would have been nice if it actually fit the car it was designed for.
I chose the trailer hitch receiver by Curt over Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite for three reasons. One, the receiver design has a more finished look, especially around the tailpipe. Two, after watching the installation videos for the H.H. and D-T. which both showed some alignment issues with the factory anchor holes. And three is a bonus, it was less expensive. I am very satisfied with the look, very unobtrusive, and installation was a snap. My only criticism is that I wish Curt had the extra hole for using the J-pin design locking hitch pin with the anti-rattle feature...much better than other anti-rattle hitch products. Research and ordering from etrailer.com was a breeze...a very satisfied customer.
