Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon

Hi everyone. I'm with eTrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt hitch-mounted Cargo Carrier on our 2017 Subaru Outback. So this is going to be a hitch-mounted carrier for two-inch hitches, and it is going to have the interior dimensions of about 24 inches to about 60 inches. So that's going to be the amount of usable space that you can use on this carrier. We do have a steel construction with a nice powder-coated finish and that's going to get you about a 500-pound weight capacity rating on this Curt. It does have a nice mesh flooring, so if you have wet gear after a bike ride or muddy gear after hanging out down at the river, whatever it may be, it's going to be able to fall through and not just sit there and puddle up and then start rusting over time.

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 two bike platform rack with the cargo carrier attached, which is part number HR1450Z-85.As you can see, we have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. Obviously the one that sticks out to you right away is that we have a cargo carrier attached to the end of our bike rack. This is very convenient for times where maybe you want to haul all your dirty gear after a long bike ride, and it's outside of your vehicle, or if you just have more gear to travel with than what you can fit in your vehicle. The bike rack has three different points where it's secured. We have a hook and loop strap on the back wheel and the front wheel, and then we have this padded frame hook putting down force on top of the bike frame, forcing it into the wheel trace. The padding is gonna help protect your bike frame for any type of scratches or abrasions. Now one really cool feature is that we can tilt this away from the vehicle to gain access to our trunk.
