Inno Shadow 16 Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4

Hey everybody, Zach here, @etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Inno Shadow 16 on our 2016 Toyota RAV4. This is gonna be a pretty solid roofbox if you're looking to get some stuff on the roof protected. Sometimes baskets are a really nice option if you've got taller gear, but if you've got more sensitive items, this is a really nice option to keep it out of the elements when you're going down the road. I personally, when I travel with my family, I always have a roofbox on my roof. It just frees up some space in the back of the car.



Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4

Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be doing a test fit on the Curt Cargo Carrier. That's part number C18152. I've already got it loaded up on the RAV4 just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. As you can see, it's a sizable carrier. It's just about the same width as our RAV4. It's dimensions are 24x60.



Thule Roof Basket Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4

Today, on our 2016 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Canyon XT Roof-Mounted Cargo Basket. That's part number TH859XT. I've already got it loaded up on the RAV4 just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. It measures 49" long, by 40" wide, and 6" deep at the center here. Like always, when you've got something on the roof of your vehicle, it's always good to make sure that you can still open up your rear hatch. By the way we have it positioned on our roof rack system, we're not going to have that problem. Just keep that in mind. A few things to know about this roof-mounted basket.



Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4

Today on our 2016 Toyota Rav4, we'll be doing a test fit on the Rhino Rack roof mounted cargo basket, that's part number RMCB. I've already got it loaded up on the Rav4, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. It measures 47 inches long, about 35 1/2 inches wide, and 5 1/2 inches deep. Now, when loading up anything on the roof of your vehicle, it's always a good idea to check and make sure you can still open up your rear hatch. As you can see, with the way we have it set up on our roof rack system, we're not going to have that problem. A few things to know about this roof mounted cargo basket, is it's a tubular construction, it's going to be able to free up the inside of our vehicle for more passengers and pets. Up here, we've got a nice fairing, so it's going to reduce that wind drag and noise while we're on the road.



Curt Roof Basket Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4

Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Curt Roof Mounted Basket. That's part number C18115. It measures 41 and 1/2 inches long, 37 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. If you'd like to pick up an extension for the Curt basket here you can pick one up sold separately, part number C18117. What that's going to do is it's going add an extra 21 inches here at the center. So if you feel the need to pick up an extension go ahead and do so. Like anything else that you might put on the roof of your RAV4 you always want to be sure you leave enough clearance so you can open up your rear hatch.



Thule Roof Box Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4

Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV4, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Force large rooftop cargo box. This has 16 cubic feet of space, and the part number for that is TH628. We already have this secured to our roof. Keep in mind that this has a 110 weight capacity, but you do want to check your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure that your vehicle can withstand that much weight. We also have these on our Thule AeroBlade bars here. These do work with round, square, most factory, elliptical, and the Aero bars, so you can use it on multiple different types of bars, not just the Aero ones. We're going to start off, we have 3 of our 4 clamps secured in place. We're going to show you our front passenger's side one here.



Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4

Today on this 2016 Toyota Rav4 we're going to be test fitting the 23 X 60 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier, part number CC-100. This cargo carrier has a carrying capacity of 500 pounds and has this mesh floor at the bottom, which makes it easy to clean. Around the borders of the cargo carrier we have these points here, which you can use as tie-down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. Also at the front, we have these 3 smaller holes here on each side, which you can use to attach either lights or reflectors. We also have 2 points up here, so just in case your cargo's going to block off your license plate you can actually relocate it to down here. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Starting from the bumper to this outer edge here, we've added about 27.5 inches.



MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4

Today on this 2016 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be test fitting the 48 x 21 MaxxTow Cargo Carrier, part number MT70422. This has a 500-pound carrying capacity. It's made from a strong durable aluminum and has tie-down points at both the front and the rear of the cargo carrier, which you can use for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements. Measuring from the bumper to our outer edge here, we've added about 27-1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. Our ground clearance is going to be about 10 inches, and our closest point right here is going to be about 5 inches. Now, the exhaust is going to be on the passenger side and it's going to face down away from the actual cargo carrier itself.



Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4

Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV 4, we are going to be test fitting the 23 X 47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, part number M2205. This has a 450 pound carrying capacity and with the walls themselves, which measure up to about 22 inches from the base here, it is going to provide plenty of protection for your gear as you travel down the road. Now these walls do fold down if you need to. You pull the pins on all four corners like so. Then you can start folding them in. Now before we get the final two walls in, I am going to go ahead and grab the strap that comes with it and actually run that under. This is going to be a cam buckle strap that will hold everything together.



Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4

Today on this 2016 Toyota Rav 4, we're going to be test fitting the 20 X 16 Curt Cargo Carrier part number C18151. This cargo carrier has a 500lbs carrying capacity and it has a mesh flow, which makes it easy to clean. It also has this rail all the way around the carrier, which you can use as a tie down port for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. The cargo carrier in this position measuring from the bumper to the outer rail here, we've added about 33 1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. The ground clearance is going to be about 10 1/2 inches. Then our closest point on the inner rail, that's going to be about 12 1/2 inches. The exhaust is going to be on the passenger side and faces down away from the cargo carrier, it's also about 20 inches or so away from the cargo carrier itself, so I wouldn't worry to much about any heat sensitive material going into the actual cargo carrier itself. Now with nothing in the cargo carrier, of course, we can actually have access to our rear hatch with no problems.

Today on this 2016 Toyota Rav 4, we're going to be test fitting the 20 x 60 Curt Cargo Carrier part number C18150. This has a 500 pound carrying capacity. Has a mesh floor which makes it easy to clean, and also has a rail system all the way around the cargo carrier, which you can use as a tie down point for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Measuring from the bumper to the outer rail, we've added about 28 1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. For ground clearance to this point here, it's about 12 or 12 and 3/4 inches, excuse me.

Today with this 2016 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be taking a look at the twenty by forty-eight Curt Cargo Carrier. Part number C18110. This has a carrying capacity of three hundred pounds. It has this mesh floor which makes it easy to clean. It also has these tie-down points here all the way around the cargo carrier for either your wraps, traps, or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Measuring from the bumper to the outer edge, we've added about twenty-seven inches to the rear of the vehicle. Our ground clearance to the end of this bolt here is going to be about thirteen inches.
