Yakima SkinnyWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at the Yakima SkinnyWarrior Roof Cargo basket here on our 2015 Kia Sorento. So you have your Sorento and you're ready for adventure, but what if you need to carry around a bunch of different accessories, not just cargo As helpful as a cargo basket is, sometimes it takes up all of your roof, but not the Yakima SkinnyWarrior. This is what you would go with if you also wanna carry around a bike rack or a kayak or even a rooftop cargo box. This doesn't take up much room on your roof rack, giving you extra space for those extra things. Now, a basket is more low-profile than a rooftop cargo box, especially when there's no cargo in it. So taking some measurements here, I'm gonna measure from our roof to the top of the basket, it is 10 3/4 inches.



Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're doing a test fit of the Curt 24 by 60 cargo carrier. That part number is C18152. This has a 500-lb weight capacity and works with 2" hitches. We already have it installed here, we're going to start off with a few measurements. Ground clearance being first, it's going to be about 13-3/4" of clearance. Overall to our vehicle we're going to have about 31-1/2" and our closest point is going to be about 6-1/2". On our Sorento we do have a single passenger side exhaust here, it comes straight out towards our carrier. Just about even there, so we're going to have about 12" between the end of our exhaust and our carrier.



Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're doing a test fit of the CURT 20 by 48 cargo carrier. That part number is C18110. Now this has a 300 pound weight capacity and works with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. We already have this all loaded up. We're going to start off with a few measurements. Ground clearance being first, we're going to have about 13-1/2".



Curt Roof Basket Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're doing a test fit of the Curt roof-mounted cargo basket. This is 41 1/2 inches long by 37 inches wide by four inches deep and has a 150 pound weight capacity. You do want to double check your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure it can withstand that much weight. The part number for this is C18115. We already have three of our four mounts secured down. We've got our spacer here at our back mount.



Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today in our 2015 Kia Sorento we're doing a test fit on the rhino wrack roof mounted cargo basket. This basket is 47 inches long by 35 inches wide and has a 165 pound weight capacity. That part number is RMCB. We already have three of our four mounts in place but first we're going to show you how we secure that and we'll go over a few features. We already two of our brackets in place. We have our plastic one that's going to go between the bars of our cargo basket and our cross bar.



Detail K2 20x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're going to be test fitting the Detail K2 folding-style hitch cargo carrier. It measures 20 by 60. It's designed for use with 2" hitches and it offers a 500 pound weight capacity. Its part number is K2HCC602. Now to begin the test fit we're going to slide the shank of our carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Slide it in far enough so we line the pinhole up with our hitch pinhole. We're then going to slide through our standard 5/8 pin and secure it on the other side here with the clip.



Surco Products 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento, we're going to be test fitting the Surco 24X60 cargo carrier. They've designed this for use with 2-inch hitches. It offers a 500 pound weight capacity. The part number on it is 52018. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll slide it in far enough to line up our pinhole with our hitch pinhole.



Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're going to be test fitting the 24 by 60 folding cargo carrier from CURT. This offers a 500 pound weight capacity and they've designed it for use in 2" hitches. Its part number is C18153. Now to begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll slide it in far enough so we line up our pinhole with our hitch pinhole. We'll then slide through our standard 5/8 pin and secure it here on the other side with our clip.



Curt 17x46 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're going to be test fitting the Kirk 17x46 cargo carrier. They've designed it so you can use it with both the inch and a quarter or the two inch hitches. It offers a 500 pound weight capacity and its part number is C18145. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We're going to slide it in far enough so that we get that threaded hole lined up with our hitch pinhole. We can then take our anti-rattle bolt and we'll thread that in. Once we have it hand tight we'll use our wrench to tighten it down. Tightening it down is going to take the play out of the connection point between the vehicle and the carrier.



Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're going to be testing the Pro Series Solo. This 30 by 47 cargo carrier has been designed for use in two inch hitches and offers a 400 pound weight capacity. It's part number is PS1040100. As it's one of the largest cargo carriers that we offer it's a good idea to have two people to get it installed into the vehicle. A strategy that I've adopted it will be to just tilt the carrier down. Get the bottom of the shank resting in the bottom of the receiver tube of our hitch. We're going to lift up in the rear and push in at the same time.



MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento, were going to be test fitting the 20 x 47 Maxxtow Aluminum Cargo Carrier. This has been designed for use with 2 inch hitches and the steel shank is going to run all the way through the base here giving us a 500 pound weight capacity. The part number on it is MT70108. To begin our test fit well slide shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well line up our hitch pin hole with the pin hole thats in the carrier. Well then take our standard 5/8 pin slide it through and secure it with our clip.Now the hitch, pin and clip are sold separately.



MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're going to be test fitting the 17 by 50 compact cargo carrier from MaxxTow. This offers a 500 pound weight capacity. They've designed it for use in a 2" hitch. Its part number is MT70107. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch, slide it in far enough so our pinhole lines up with our hitch pinhole. We'll then take a standard 5/8 pin; we'll slide that through and secure it on the other side with a clip.



Curt 19x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're going to be test fitting the CURT aluminum folding cargo carrier. They've designed this for use in 2" hitches and it offers a 500 pound weight capacity. Its part number is C18100. Now this carrier is super-light and really light test fitting it. This is the first step in that's going to be to insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch, then line up our hitch pinholes. Then going to take a standard 5/8 pin, we'll slide that through, secure it on the other side here with our clip.



Rola Dart Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're going to be test fitting the 23 by 56 Rola Dart. This is a folding cargo carrier. It's designed for use in 2" hitches and it has a 450 pound weight capacity. Its part number is 59550. To begin the test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We're going to slide it in far enough so we line up our threaded hole there with our hitch pinhole.
