This is 47 inches long by 35 inches wide and has a 165 pound weight capacity. We already have three of our four mounts in place and secured down. We're going to show you how to do our back mount. We already have one of our spacers in place. We're just going to show you the other ones.

Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander we're doing a test fit of the Stromberg-Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier. That part number is CC-100. Now this is designed to work with 2" hitches and has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. Now although it does have that high weight capacity, it is very lightweight so it's easy to put into and take out of your hitch. The first thing we're going to do while it's installed is take a few measurements. We'll start off with our ground clearance here. We're going to have about 10-1/2" of clearance.

Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander we're doing a test fit of the MaxxTow 48 by 21 cargo carrier. That part number is MT70422. Now this is designed to work with 2" hitches and has a 500 pound weight capacity. Although it does have that very high weight capacity, it is a lightweight aluminum cargo carrier so it's very easy to put into and take out of our hitch. The first thing we're going to do here is take a few measurements. Our ground clearance is going to be about 11-3/4". Overall to our vehicle we're adding about 30-3/4".

Now we'll go over some clearance measurements. We have about twelve and a half inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of our Highlander is about seven inches. We've added about fifteen and a half inches to the overall length of our vehicle, with the carrier in its folded position. We'll pull up on the orange handle on top, to allow our carrier to unfold. With it in this position, we now have aground clearanceof about seventeen inches. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of our vehicle is about seven inches, and we've added about forty and a half inches to the overall length of our Highlander. When opening our rear hatch door, we see that it breaks over our carrier at about seventeen inches. The exhaust system on this vehicle exits on the passenger side, and sits about twenty-one inches away from our carrier. This measurement is important to keep in mind when hauling materials that may be sensitive to heat.
