Today on this 2013 Chevrolet Traverse, we're going to be testing the thule vertex swing 4 bike rack. Part number TH9031XT. Now, the first feature we are going to show off on this the most unique feature about this. Where this can actually swing completely away form the vehicle to gain full access to your cargo area while the bikes are still installed. Now to do that, if you come around here, we'll first loosen up this big knob in the back, all the way. Then, we'll remove this t pin.



Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today in this 2013 Chevrolet Traverse we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Rack, part number TH9029XT. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, as you can see, it's going to have 3 points of contact with your bike frame to attach it to the rack, when I have 2 straps up top here, plus 1 off to the side, which is going to serve as an anti-sway strap, which keeps the bike from moving back and forth possibly hitting the bike rack, or the bikes in front of it. Let's go and take the bike off and set it aside for now. Now, once you remove the straps, it's a good habit to get into to put them back in place, primarily because you don't want to lose them while you're driving. Now I'm going to go ahead and give you a couple measurements: The first is going to be, how much distance is added to the vehicle once the bike rack is installed.

Today on this 2013 Chevrolet Traverse, we're going to be testing the Thule Roadway two bike rack, part number TH912XTR. As you can see, we already have a bike attached to the rack. We're going to have two straps up top here and one strap off to the side. Now we already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now how this bike actually attaches to the rack, you're going to have 4 points of contact with your bike's frame. We're going to have 3 rubber straps up on top, then 1 off to the side here which is going to act as an anti sway device to keep it from moving back and forth possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and remove the bike, show off some of the other features. Now once you remove the straps, it's always a good habit to put them back in place once you have gotten the bike off.



Yakima DoubleDown Ace Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse, we'll be test fitting the Yakima DoubleDown Ace 4-bike carrier, part number Y02451. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, inserting the pin with the red knob into the pin holes, and turning the black knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. Now that our DoubleDown Ace is secured to our Traverse, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 21-1/2" of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about 10" to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the red lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out, and with the cradle arms out, we've added about 33-1/2" to the overall length of the vehicle.



Yakima DoubleDown Ace 2 Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse, we'll be test fitting the Yakima DoubleDown Ace 2-bike carrier, part number Y02450. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, inserting the pin into the pin holes, and turning the black knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. Now that our Yakima bike rack is secured to our Traverse, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 29" of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier, and we've added about 9" to the overall length of the vehicle with the cradle arms folded down. We'll now pull the red lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out, and with the cradle arms out, we've added about 22" to the overall length of the vehicle. To access the cargo area, we'll lift up the red knob at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast down.



Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse, we'll be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack platform-style 2-bike carrier, part number TH990XT. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, threading our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tightening with a wrench. Now with the Doubletrack secured to our Traverse, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Traverse is here at the rear bumper, about 2" away, and we've added about 9" to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the gray lever at the base of the carrier and tilt the platform down. And with the platform folded down, the closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our traverse is here at the license plate about 2" away, and we have added about 28" to the overall length of the vehicle.



Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Titan 4-bike carrier, part number S63410. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, threading our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tightening with a wrench. Now that our Swagman Titan is secured to our Traverse, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. We have about 20-1/2" inches of ground clearance at the rear, and we have added about 18" to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the black lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out. And with the cradle arms out, we've added about 37" to the overall length of the vehicle.



Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse, we'll be test fitting the Softride Dura Parallelogram tilting 4-bike carrier, part number SR26247. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, threading our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tightening with a wrench. Now with our Dura Parallelogram is secured to our Traverse, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15-1/2" inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Traverse is here at the rear bumper, about 3-1/2" away. And we've added about 35" to the overall length of the vehicle.



Pro Series Q-Slot 2 and 4 Bike Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse, we'll be test fitting the Pro Series Q-Slot platform-style 2-bike carrier for 2" hitches, part number PS63138. This bike rack can be configured to carry two or four bikes. We will be test fitting ours in the 2-bike configuration. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, threading our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tightening with a wrench. Now with our Q-Slot secured to our Traverse, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15-1/2" of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier.



Kuat NV Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse, we'll be test fitting the Kuat NV Platform Style Aluminum 2 Bike Carrier part #N101. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pinholes, inserting our pin through our pinholes and securing with the lock on the other side. We then can turn the black knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti- rattle device. Now that the Kuat NV is secured to our Traverse, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the tube fit together. With the platform folded up, we have about 15 1/2 inches of ground clearance to the rear of the carrier. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Traverse is here at the rear bumper about 1 1/2 inches away.



Hollywood Racks Traveler 5 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse, we'll be test fitting a Hollywood Racks Traveler 5-bike carrier, part number HR9200. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, threading our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tightening with a wrench. Now that our Traveler is secured to our Traverse, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15-1/2" of ground clearance with the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Traverse is here at the rear bumper, about 10" away. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about 12-1/2" to the overall length of the vehicle.

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, threading our anti-rattle bolt to the pinholes and tightening with a wrench. Now, that our Thule Vertex is secured to our Traverse, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 18 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Traverse, is here at the license plate about 1 inch away and we've added about 10 inches to the overall length to the vehicle. We'll now pull the gray lever at the top of the mast, to swing the cradle arms out and with the cradle arms out, we've added about 35 inches to the overall length to the vehicle.



Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse we'll be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part number th934xtr. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, threading our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tightening it with a wrench. Now with our Hitching Post Pro secured to our Traverse, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. We have about 17 1/2 inches of ground clearance here at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Traverse is here at the license plate about 5 inches away. With the cradle arms folded down we've added about 17 inches to the overall length of the vehicle.



Rhino-Rack 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse, we'll be test fitting the Rhino Rack Hitch-Mounted Hanging 4-Bike Carrier, Part Number RBC038. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of our carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pinholes, threading our anti-rattle bolt through the pinhole and tightening it with a wrench. We'll now go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 21-1/2 inches of ground clearance at the rear. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Traverse is here at the rear bumper, about 3 inches away, and w've added about 10 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the black pin at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 28-1/2 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. To access the cargo area, we'll pull the black pin at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast down. As you can see, we can easily access the rear hatch of our Traverse. To load the bike, we'll make sure the mast is in its upright position, we'll undo the cradle straps, place the bike into the frame cradles and secure with the straps.



Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2013 Chevy Traverse we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4-Bike Carrier, part number HR-8500. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, threading our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tightening it with a wrench. Now that our Hollywood Racks Traveler is secured to our Traverse we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 16 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. When the cradle arm is folded down, we've added about 7 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the black pin at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out, and with the cradle arms out, we've added about 33 inches to the overall length of the vehicle.





2013 Chevrolet Traverse Bike Rack Questions
