Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Subaru Forester

Today on our 2011 Subaru Forester, we're doing a test fit of the Stromberg Carlson 23x60 Cargo Carrier. That part number is CC-100. This is designed to work with two inch hitches only, and has a weight capacity of five hundred pounds. Although it does have a pretty high weight capacity, it is very light weight, so it's easy to maneuver. First thing I'm going to do is take a few measurements, starting off with our ground clearance, we're going to go to the bottom of this bolt here, and have about nine and a half inches. Overall to our vehicle, we're going to have about twenty-six inches.

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Subaru Forester

Female: Today on our 2011 Subaru Forester we're doing a test fit of a max tow 48x21 cargo carrier. That partner was MT70422. Now this is designed to work with 2 inch hitches only and has weight capacity of 500 pounds. Although it does have very high weight capacity it's a light weight aluminium so it's easy to insert and take out of your hitch. First thing we're going to do here is take a few measurements. We're going to start off with out ground clearance that's going to be about ten and three quarter inches.

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Subaru Forester

Today on our 2011 Subaru Forester we're doing a test fit of the Curt folding 20x60 cargo carrier. That part number is C18151. Now we already have it secured in there we're using this with 2 inch hitches, that's the only hitch style that it works with and it has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. First thing we're going to do here is take a few measurements starting off with our ground clearance we're going to have about 11 and a quarter inches. Our overall is going to be about 31.5 inches and then our closest point is going to be about 10 and a quarter inches away. Now as for our exhaust the Subaru has dual exhaust on both sides here, then we come about straight out and even with our carrier but it sits about 16.5 inches away. So if you're worried about heat sensitive materials I'd keep those more inside the cargo area. The next thing we'll check is our break over point which is going to be the point at which anything that stacks on our cargo carrier might make contact with our hatch doors. So we're going to have about 27.5 inches.
