Thule Big Mouth Roof Bike Rack Review - 2009 Mazda 3

Today on our 2009 Mazda 3 we'll be test fitting the Thule Big Mouth roof mounted bike rack, part number TH599XTR. With the SportRack roof rack system on our vehicle we will begin our test fit by placing the Big Mouth directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we'll bring the bracket around the front bar, fit the T-bolt through and secure ti by tightening down the wing nut. We can then repeat this process for the other side of the front platform. Here at the rear we want to make sure that our bolts go around our rear bar, then we can fit our black metal bracket through the bolts and tighten with two wing nuts. We'll go ahead and open our frame jaws and undo each wheel strap.



Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2009 Mazda 3

Today on our 2009 Mazda3, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. With the SportRack Roof Rack System on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Fork Down directly onto our load bars. Here at the front platform, we'll take our U bolts, bring them around the underside of our load bar and back up through our front platform. We'll secure it by tightening down 2 wing nuts. We can then repeat this process for the other side of the front platform. At the rear, we'll take our U bolt and drop it through the top of our bike rack, making sure that the bolts go around our rear load bar. We'll then fit the metal bracket through the bolts and secure it by tightening down 2 wing nuts.



RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2009 Mazda 3

Today on our 2009 Mazda 3, we'll be test fitting the Rocky Mounts tierod stretch roof mounted bike rack, part number RKY1011. With the sport rack roof rack system installed on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our stretch directly on to our load bars. Here at the front, we'll bring our straps around the front bar, and remove our black plastic cover. Once we have the strap secured back in to the head of the bike rack, we can use an allen key to tighten the allen bolt which will tighten ourstraps around our front bar. With those tight, we can replaceour black plastic cover. Here at the rear, we'll bring our clamp around our rear bar, drop our bolt through, and secure it by tightening down both bolts with an allen key. We'll go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap, and make sure our skewer at the front is loose. We'll grab our bike and place it on to our bike rack, and drop our front forks down on to our skewer. We'll secure the bike first by tightening our skewer, and then move to the rear and tighten with the wheel strap.



RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2009 Mazda 3

Today on our 2009 Mazda 3, we'll be test fitting the Rocky Mount's Tie Rod Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number RKY1014. With this 4 rack roof racksystem on our vehicle, we'll being our test fit by placing our Rocky Mounts Tie Rod directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we'll need to remove the black plastic covers so we can bring our straps around our front bar.Once we have the straps fit back into the head of the carrier, we can use an Allen key to tighten the Allenbolt, which will tighten our straps around our front bar. With those tight, we can go ahead and replace our black plastic cover. Here at the rear, we'll bring our bracket around our rear bar,drop the bolts through, and secure it using an Allenkey to tighten our Allenbolts. With the front and rear secure, we can go ahead and undo our rear wheel strap and make sure our skewer at the front is loose.



Kuat Beta Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2009 Mazda 3

Today on our 2009 Mazda3 well be test fitting the Kuat Beta folding 2-bike aluminum rack for 1 hitches, part number b202-114. Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole, and install our pin and lock. Well move to the rear of the shank and tighten the hand knob to secure our bike rack to our vehicle and engage our anti-rattle device. Now well go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 12 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of our Mazda3 is about 4 inches.
