We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch lining up our pin holes and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. Now with our Thule Vertex secured to our Santa Fe, we'll go over a few clearance measures to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 15 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Santa Fe is here at the rear bumper is about 3-1/2 inches away. With the cradle arms down, we've added about 12-1/2 inches to the overall length of our Santa Fe.

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch and install and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt. Now, with the Hitching Post Pro secured to our Santa Fe, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 15 inches of ground clearance to the rear. We'll now pull the gold pin at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out, and with the cradle arms out, we've added about 38 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. To access the cargo area, we'll pull the gold pin at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast down.

With our Thule Apex secured with our Santa Fe we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 16 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Santa Fe is here at the rear bumper about 2 inches away and we've added about 13 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now lift the gray lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out and with the cradle arms out we've added about 36 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. To access the cargo area we'll lift up the gray lever at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast down. Now as you can see we can easily gain access to the rear hatch of our Santa Fe. To load the bike we'll make sure the mast is in its upright position. We'll undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles and secure with the straps.
