Today on our 2003 Dodge Dakota we'll be test fitting the draw-tite ball mount with a 3/4-inch rise or 2-inch drop rated at 7,500 pounds, part number 2923. Before we begin our test fit, we will firstly obtain the hitch height of our vehicle which is the measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube. The hitch height for this vehicle is 15-1/4 inches. Keep in mind this measurement may vary due to tire size, hitch style or after market accessories. We'll now begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount in the drop position into the opening of the hitch and securing with the pin and clip. We'll then measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform, and we'll get a measurement of about 12-3/4 inches. If your vehicle's hitch height matches our's and your trailer's ride height matches this measurement this should be an appropriate ball mount for you. We can now flip the ball mount over to the rise position and again measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform, and we'll get a measurement of about 16 inches. Once again if your trailer's ride height matches this measurement, this would be an appropriate ball mount for you. We'll start off in the drop. Now from the ground to the center of the bottom set of holes is 9-3/4 inches. We can now flip it over into the rise position and we'll then measure from the ground to the center of the top set of holes, and we'll get a measurement of about 18-1/2 inches.
