  • Recommended Air Conditioner for 26x7-1/2 Foot Enclosed Racing Trailer
  • For your 26x7-1/2 inch enclosed trailer, based on your photo you will want two units. If you simply want to replace the unit, I recommend the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Ceiling Vent and Start Capacitor - White # ACM135C. This will give you the roof top unit, the vent assembly with built in thermostat, and a start capacitor to make sure you can start the unit even when the shore power is at an amperage that isn't strong enough for most systems to start. The capacitor helps with...

  • Which Will Blow Colder Air an Advent 15k BTU AC Unit or Atwood
  • 50 degrees is a great temperature for an AC system to put out. The difference between a 13.5k and 15k AC unit though is not so much temperature as it is the volume of air it can put out at that temperature. The Advent systems don't have as great of a reputation for putting out the coldest air so for a 15k btu system instead I'd recommend the Atwood part # AT15025-21 for a non ducted application or the # AT15028-22 for a ducted setup. You'll get the higher volume of air at a colder temperature.

  • What Size Generator Is Needed to Use the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner
  • The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner with Ceiling Vent and Start Capacitor part # ACM135BC requires 3,000 watts for starting and 1,000 watts while running therefore a 2,000 watt generator would not be suited for this or any RV air conditioner for that matter. Instead, I recommend the etrailer Portable Inverter Generators part # 333-0002 which has a 3,200 watt starting and 2,900 watt running power output. This will give you enough power to start and run the air conditioner as well as power...

Your existing generator will not have enough starting watts to run the air conditioner unit. It is also no longer available through us. If you already have the air conditioner and need a generator I recommend etrailer 4,500-Watt Portable Generator # 333-0005 with electric start that is rated for 3,600 Running Watts and 4,500 watts which is plenty enough to power the ACM150C...

These units are both 12-13/16" tall which is the shortest we offer for a rooftop air conditioner. The reason that this is the best rooftop air conditioner is because it comes with a start capacitor. This is going to be needed as it reduces the amount of watts that is required upon startup. This means that you will just remove your current unit and set this one in its place. This unit uses your existing Dometic ceiling vent and thermostat.

The reason for this is to keep the air circulating, and what this does is ensure the unit can maintain cooler temperatures than if there was stagnant warm air.
