  • Best Option for Carrying Two Bikes on 2016 Mini Clubman S
  • Because of the spoiler atop the rear hatch of the 2016 Clubman S, none of our bike rack manufacturers offer a trunk mount rack that'll work, as the spoiler isn't strong enough to support the weight of the rack plus the bikes without sustaining damage. I'd recommend a hitch mount bike rack. You'd begin by installing the Curt Class I hitch, part # C11524. This hitch works great, especially for folks that don't want to see an ugly hitch hanging off the rear of the vehicle. When installed,...

  • How to Transport 18 Foot Hobie Tandem Island Pedal Kayak
  • When fully rigged, an 18 foot Hobie Tandem Island will weigh up to 240 lbs depending on the specific model, according to my research. Since you'll be towing a travel trailer already, and the vehicle roof wouldn't have the strength to carry that type of weight, a trailer or a roof mounted rack wouldn't be a good solution. Your best bet would be to use a ladder rack like # 3371501680 from Buyer's Products. The rack has an 800 lb capacity, so it'll handle the boat with no problem. The rack...

  • Recommended Sumo Spring Helper Springs for 2014 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 31K on the Ford E450 Chassis
  • For your 2014 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 31K on the Ford E450 chassis, I'd recommend the 1000 lb capacity # SSF-106-47 for the fronts and # SSR-106-47-1 for the rear. Both these recommendations are on the heavier duty side of the spectrum, but your 31K is pretty large and you'll need a higher capacity option to absorb bumps and help reduce body roll. The springs are manufactured right here in the USA, and will remain flexible in whatever temperatures you find yourself in. The urethane construction...

  • Trailer Hitch, Wiring, and Ball Mount Recommendation for 2012 Porsche Cayenne
  • For your 2012 Porsche Cayenne the hitch you will want is the Curt part # C13116 which has great towing capacities and also since only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper it is mostly hidden and offers best ground clearance. For trailer wiring the ZCIKIT part # 119250KIT can install without requiring any splicing into your vehicle wiring. Or for a lower priced option that does require splicing we have the # 119190KIT. • Trailer Error Message with Hitch Light on a 2018 Ford Escape
  • I do not believe that there is an issue with your 2018 Ford Escape or there is an issue with the Oval LED Brake Light Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover part # CR-017. Unfortunately, the electrical systems in newers cars today are very complex and they do not like when aftermarket accessories are used. The issue you are having is that the vehicle thinks there is a trailer attached when you have the hitch light plugged in. The power draw from the hitch light is not comparable to that of a trailer...

  • Should a Locking Hitch Pin be Purchased to Help Keep a Hitch Cover from Being Stolen
  • A trailer hitch cover like the Rubber Hitch Cover # 22281 is not one that can be locked, but since it is a common piece it really isn't in too much danger of being stolen. However, if you you are looking at a hitch cover that is a little more unique, like the part # HTCC11805, then I do recommend going with a locking hitch pin like part # e98880 as opposed to a typical pin and clip like part # PC3. This will help to deter theft of your cover. Please note that the lock and clip/pin...

  • Possible Solution to Allow Weight Distribution to Install on Trailer with Frame Interference
  • We don't have a short enough spring bar that will work well for you, but there's a possibility we might have a solution that would work well. In some situations like what you described a set of bolt on style frame brackets like the part # RP58305 would be the solution. This allows you to bolt the chain hangers to the side of the frame which bypasses any frame interference issues that typically prevent a WD from being able to install.

  • Solution for Newer Ford with Bulb Out Error Message When Using LED Hitch Cover
  • This is a problem we normally see with German vehicles when they try to tow a trailer with LED lights. The issue is that the lower amperage draw of the LED lights is just enough to confuse the vehicle that it is drawing too much and because of that it wants to tell you that you have a bulb out on your vehicle. Normally the fix for this is to use the # TR20141 which has diodes in it that increase the amperage draw to what an incandescent bulb would draw on a trailer which eliminates the...

  • Lighted Trailer hitch Cover that has Tail Light, Brake Light, and Turn Signal Functions
  • Usually, people want the exact opposite; for it not to blink with either turn signal. The reason that it blinks with just the right turn signal is because the 4-Way connector for a trailer has combined brake and turn signals and only one wire and a ground is used to power the light, in this case the green right turn/brake light wire. For a lighted cover that has turn signal functions you could use # CR-007XL.
