It sounds like the 7-Way # A7WCB on your new boat trailer is hooked up incorrectly. Since The Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness # C56000 only tee's into the existing wiring this is the only logical explanation. You will need to check the wiring on the boat trailer and either correct the wiring at the 7-way or the junction box on the trailer. I went to our warehouse to personally handle the Redline Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumpers # D3-96 for you so I could advise you on their stiffness. These bumpers are quite firm. When I applied my palm to the bumper and leaned as much of my body weight as I could onto it, there was almost no compression at all. So this is by no means a soft or squishy product. Since you're towing a consistent load, I'd recommend a jounce bumper replacement-type system versus an air helper spring. Such a system won't affect your ride quality unless the rear suspension of your Tahoe is compressed from hauling cargo or the tongue weight of a trailer.
