The Replacement SpeedLink Mounting Hardware Assembly for Thule SnowPack Ski and Snowboard Carriers # 7521241001 or the Mounting Kit for Thule Pull Top Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Racks # TH7520970001 will be compatible with the aero style bar. Either of these options will work with the factory bars on your 2010 Audi Q5. view full answer...
If you have a vehicle specific wiring harness for a brake controller then that would indicate that you have a factory tow package and subsequently would already have a 7-way at the back of your vehicle.
The universal 7-way connector # ETBC7 is meant to be used on vehicle's that don't have an existing 7-way and need to add one.
However if you were adding a 7-way then you'd need to route the blue wire to the output on your brake controller, and run the yellow wire to the reverse light circuit.
If... view full answer...
According to my research the wire that carries the cold side of the stop light switch on your 2013 Audi Q5 should either be Red, Red/Gray, or Red/Black. You will need to test this with a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 and then connect the red wire from the pigtail # 20127 for the Voyager # 39510. view full answer...
Even with the factory 7-way, your 2018 Audi Q7 does need additional wiring from the Audi dealer to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195.
You will need a quantity of one of the 1J0-972-782 housing and a quantity of two of the 000-979-228 wire/terminal assemblies. I have added a link to the tech bulletin for you. view full answer...
Once installed, the only portion of the Draw-Tite # DT68MR Class III hitch that will be visible from the rear is the receiver tube and the safety chain loops as you can see in the photo I fetched from the instructions. You will need to do some trimming of the rear fascia as shown in the linked install instructions.
We haven't installed this hitch yet, so unfortunately, I couldn't say if the hitch extends past the rear face of the bumper. Judging by the perspective seen in the photo, it... view full answer...
Yes, all of the hitches we carry for your 2020 Audi Q7 require fascia trimming. The Curt, part # C13277 has the least amount of trimming. I've attached pictures that show how much trimming is needed for each hitch.
Despite the Curt requiring less trimming I prefer the Stealth hitches for your Audi. The appearance after the hitch is installed is a lot nicer in my opinion. With the Curt you see the receiver opening all the time and you can even kind of see the area that was trimmed. With... view full answer...
The installation difficulty for the Hidden Hitch by Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # DT29GR on a 2022 Audi Q5 is rated 10/10 from the manufacturer. That said, I still think this is something an individual with minimal mechanical experience can do themselves. It's not hard per se but rather time consuming so as long as you give yourself an afternoon to get the job done, there should be few issues. You don't need a lift or special tools and there is no drilling or welding but you do... view full answer...
The Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 receives power from the pin in the one o'clock position, not the center pin (see photo). The center pin for reverse lights and the one o'clock pin for the 12 volt power can be found wired either way but in order for the Curt Echo to work it needs to be the former way. If the trailer connector is already wired using the latter then you can switch the wires at the back of the connector pretty easily. view full answer...
You can install Draw-Tite hitch # 76183 on your 2018 Audi SQ5 with only minor trimming of the rear fascia. If you refer to the linked photo taken from the included instructions you'll see the small 2 x 3-1/2-inch notch to be made. Just take care that you avoid cutting the wiring behind it. I also include a link to a video for a Q5 installation which will be very similar overall. view full answer...
Curt does have their hitch part # C11448 that is a fit for your 2023 Audi A4. If you install this according to the install instructions none of the sensors you mentioned would be affected. The bumper does not need to be removed which you can see in the attached install instructions. view full answer...
If the cap at the end of the bike rack arm has a rivet instead of a screw to hold it on (check on the bottom of the arm) then you will not be able to remove it. But what you can do to get strap # 753-3535 installed is essentially stretch it out enough to go over everything, including the cradle.
I have actually done this myself and made a video of it. You basically have to work it on there by stretching and moving it as you go. view full answer...
When installing the Tekonsha Vehicle Wiring Kit # 119250KIT on your 2014 Audi Q7 the harness wires will clamp directly to the appropriate circuit wires on the vehicle without splicing into the wire. You won't be able to attach or connect to the plug itself that you referenced.
You did reference in your question though that your Audi is equipped with trailer pre-wiring. If this is the case then there should be a round factory plug located behind the rear bumper. If this is present then... view full answer...
Really good question, and the wiring kit is a passive one for the Stealth Hitches receiver and wiring kit that fits your 2018 Audi S4, which is the following part number:
- Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # 391AUDA417T
I have cut out two parts of the instructions, with the first showing the active vs. passive difference, and the other specifying that the wiring kit is passive for your Audi. Since it gets the power from your battery, there is not any programming... view full answer...
Your 2019 Audi Q7 has a combined trailer wiring setup that uses pulse width modulation. Combined means "2 wire". On the install chart this is the PWM-STT setup for the Curt harness part # C59236. view full answer...
When Curt did the install, the battery on their vehicle did not have the large diameter battery vent tube you show in your photo, so they didn't run into this issue nor have they received any other reports of this occurring, you can see the photo of the battery that they took during their install, it's labeled # 2 in the photos I've provided.
You are correct, the center grommet that's closer to the rear bumper would certainly be blocked by the mounting flange of the hitch, so that would... view full answer...
In order to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13277 some trimming of the fascia will be required. This will be a 3.5" x 7.25" area as outlined in the instructions.
This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver and a concealed cross tube. It features a gloss black powder coat finish and a bolt-on installation. This hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight of 7,000 lbs and tongue weight of 700 lbs.
If you plan on towing, I recommend the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness... view full answer...
Does your trailer have brakes? If it does, you'll need a brake controller to actuate them.
You'll first need a functional 4 pole which would be provided by installing part # 119250KIT. I've linked you to an install video showing how this is done.
If your trailer doesn't have brakes, the only other thing you'd need is the # 37185 adapter. Plug the adapter into the 4-pole, ground the white wire to the vehicle frame, and you'll be good to go.
If you need a brake controller, I'd recommend... view full answer...
The Hands-free Liftgate Sensors on your 2019 Audi Q5 will still function with any of the trailer hitches we carry installed, but since you are adding a big piece of steel near the sensors this will limit the area that the sensors pick up your foot movement to directly on either side of the hitch receiver. Out of the Draw-Tite # 76183, Curt # C13331, and EcoHitch # 306-X7397 options I highly recommend the Curt because in our experience their construction is better than the Draw-Tite and... view full answer...
In order to have a trailer hitch installed on your 2017 Audi A4, I recommend that you take your vehicle to a local RV dealer who has a service center as they would be the most experienced with this type of install. That said, we do not have any recommended facilities outside of our location in Missouri.
For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11448 because it requires the least amount of trimming. I have attached a photo for you of what it will look like... view full answer...
Yes, the installation instructions for the Stealth Hitches # SH74ZR are attached below. You will need to remove the rear tail lights, fascia, and factory reinforcement beam. The hitch will replace the reinforcement beam on your 2023 Audi A6 Allroad.
If you plan on towing you will need the # SH66ZR instead. You can also add the towing kit at a later time using the # 391CONVA5. The instructions cover the installation for the wiring as well. view full answer...
