Ramp Spring - 2K Torque for 1-1/2" Round Shaft - LH - RS16933LH

These ramp springs really took the work out of raising and lowering my heavy 3 fold ramps needed for a more long and level approach to our 10 ton trailer. I always looked for help when needing to raise them, now I can almost do it with one hand. It took a little work installing them because the old system had to be rebuilt somewhat. I kept the same 1" pins and used a 1 1/16" ID X 1 1/2" OD sleeve for the springs to work on. They were well worth my time. I`d rate this an excellent product.

Still work great! They gave me a lot more flexability moving equipment without always looking for a hand or trying to raise them myself.

We installed spring and lowered ramp. Spring bent and did not assist on lifting ramp anymore. Very disappointed

The ramp spring is designed to be used with a 1 ½ round pipe not a square pipe which might cause the ramp spring to bind. You also may want to use more than one spring on heavier ramps.

I think we should have ordered these many years ago. Amazing how just a little extra item can be appreciated at the beginning of and end at unloading time can make the day that much more pleasant. A real pain in the back saver/muscle relaxer. 11#'s of lift effort vs 58#. Why waste the energy doing 58 times two ramps 2 to 10 times a day when you don't have to?

Exactly what I needed. Good price and it was shipped quickly.
Online descriptions were thourough.

Can someone tell me how to install trailer assist springs, please!

The Redline Ramp Spring RS16933LH is a replacement spring and is only part of the ramp spring system on a trailer. To use this spring on your trailer you must have ramp hinge with a 1-1/2 inch diameter rod or pipe where the ramp meets the trailer. The spring slips over the rod with the tension of the spring against the ramp and trailer when the ramp is in the up position. The spring should not be welded to the ramp or trailer, the tension and the rod will hold the spring in place. The springs we carry are designed for heavyweight steel doors or ramps commonly found on heavy equipment trailers or car haulers. If your trailer is not set up to accept a hinge spring, a hinge would need to be fabricated and installed.

The ramp springs like part RS16933LH that we carry are meant for heavy ramps, not for a 100 lb door. They do make springs like these for trailer ramps that weigh considerably less, but we do not carry them, nor do our suppliers. If you have an enclosed trailer, you might be able to use something like this part, ERS160D96.

Unique, you say...sounds intriguing. Do tell!

I haven't installed them yet. But the customer service has been amazing, after a simple mistake was found

by:

They were a b**** to put on but got her done by myself works great.

My gooseneck trailer has the extra wide ramps on it. Each ramp covers half the trailer. These ramp springs definitely help raise the ramps. I only wish the fingers (as I call them) were about 2 inches longer.

by:

My 16 ft mower trailer is loaded with tools from the shop rebuild so I have been having to use my 20 ft implement trailer to haul my sub compact tractor on when mowing the in-laws yard. The ramps are very heavy which was never a problem for occasional use but doing it multiple times a week was getting old so I went looking for a solution. These springs were easy to install and made all the difference in the world. The trailer is now much more user friendly. Wish I had bought them years ago.

I had to have 2 back surgeries, and I was not to pick up hardly any weight for a number of weeks. I had a neighbor help me install the ramp springs. After that I was able to lift the ramps with almost no effort at all. I am very glad I got the springs.

by:

works great .. takes a lot of back ache out of the ramps

by:

Need two on each side… one is not enough

by:

I got what I expected. Thanks for the great service.

by:

Two points of consideration, first the ramp springs worked great and make a world of difference when lifting my ramps. Second was the instructional video. Which made the install process simple and accurate.

The springs are okay, but etrailer is awesome. Super-fast shipping and amazing follow up.

by:

Product was as described & fit was good. Delivery was faster than stated. Will require some mods to trailer to gain the best benefit from springs. Will order from etrailer in the future for my trailer needs.

Im very pleased with my parts. They were delivered in a timely manner. Once I installed they worked perfectly and will purchase from etrailer with all my trailer needs.

I was very impressed on the lifting pressure of these springs. The lift weight of my ramps were approximately 75 lb. I added 2 springs per ramp and now can lift a ramp with one finger, approximately 5 Lb. They were a very good addition to my 3 axel gooseneck trailer.

Our company installed these to assist with heavy folding ramps on a customer's trailer. They really helped with reducing the effort needed to fold the ramps up from the ground. We used 2 springs per ramp. Great product & great price.

by:

Heavy duty springs worked great. I was thinking about using hydraulics to raise and lower my trailer ramps until I found out about these springs from etrailer.com.

I recommend this product, worked great!!!!!

by:

I purchased these for our paving trailer that has bifold wood lined ramps. These springs did help but the ramps are still two man ramps and I put 5 on each ramp

by:

I installed these on my trailer with a 4' split ramps. They are great as I can pick the ramp up with one finger and move them into place. Great product.

by:

Theese work to good. I have a 14k gooseneck and the ramps will only drop to a 45 angle. Spring is a little too strong. For 7 ton trailer ramps made of 3 in channel. I plan on modifing the ramps which should fix it.

by:

Excellent product my workers will not have to strain their backs trying to raise the ramps on the trailer. With these springs assisting anyone can raise the ramps now. I look forward to doing business in the future. Thanks Billy R.

I still have them, sitting on my garage floor, in the original box that I received them in.

They are the WRONG SIZE, and when I wanted to return them (yes, more than 30 days after the purchase), I was advised that they would accept them, but I needed to send them via UPS, and they will deduct about half the price I bought them for, to cover for their shipping.

SO, I am NOT happy, and will never buy from you again... SORRY!
