Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the replacement fan motor assembly kit for Fantastic Vent Roof Vent Fans. This is going to replace that original vent fan that came with your Fantastic Vent Roof Fan. It's going to have al the same specs as that. It does have the motor already attached with the bowtie bracket on the back. You'll just need to secure that in place on your vent with the screws that came with your kit. There is no hardware that comes with this, so you will have to replace either with the original hardware or pick up some on your own.Has the two wires for your power and ground hookup.
They already come with butt connectors on them, so that's one last step you have to do. This does have to be connected to 12 volt power. As far as the measurements for this fan, from the mounting hole on either side of the bowtie bracket, center on center, that's going to be 11 and a 16th inches from the height of the mounting holes themselves, that's going to be five and 5/16th inches. From the inside edge to inside edge of that bracket, that's going to be 12 and 5/8ths. You can see a little bit better if I hold it in front maybe.
The fan diameter itself, that is going to be 11 and 3/8ths, so that gives you an idea of what that should bit, but it will work with the Fantastic Vent Roof Vans. You can check those part numbers out on our website. This will be a direct replacement from Fantastic Fans, so it should work out well. That's going to do it for our look at the replacement fan motor assembly kit for Fantastic Vent Roof Fans.

Next, need to order new screen and vent cover.
Drop in replacement for the original Jan '08 model 8000 Fan-Tastic Vent fan in my Fleetwood class C. Wires were black & red. My coach wires were blue & black. Attached black to black & red to blue and it worked great. Screw holes lined up though the fan diameter was slightly smaller than the original. The old one was white, the new clear.
Unit arrived sooner than promised. Installation very easy and done from the top. I removed the large vent cover (7/16" socket) then the four screws on the bow-tie. The old unit lifted out but I had to loosen the black (white) lead on the "vent closed" cutoff switch and move it out of the way. The new unit dropped in, bow-tie holes matched perfectly and after putting in the screws, I cut the wires and used the crimp connectors on the new fan to connect to the fixture wiring. I used cable ties to fasten the leads to the bow-tie arms and to gather excess wiring to keep it out of the way. Tools needed: 7/16" socket to remove and install the hood, #2 phillips screwdriver, wire cutter, knife to trim wire, and plier to crimp connector. See pictures. Fan motor does make a different sound than the original but it works and the old one didn't. The fan itself is also about 1/2" less diameter but that doesn't seem to have made a difference in effectiveness.
Was able to install into original 1967 vent, by making a mount with some aluminum angle. Quality original fantastic fan part
Received the “Fan Motor Assembly” and after paying a little over $100 to have it installed, the technician turns it on and the plastic fan blades are warped and it makes an awful scraping sound.
A lot of wasted money on this item!
Very disheartening!
Haven’t installed it yet but I’m guessing it won’t be an issue. Wasn’t sure if this one deserves a 4 or a 3. Reason is the finish on the plastic is not the same quality as the original fan from Fantastic. The frame section has the flashing that you get sometimes from injection molding. I don’t think it will effect the operation as the fan blade looks fine. I might try to salvage the Fantastic frame and use it again. As I mentioned I have not installed it yet so don’t know if the motor works but I’m sure it will.
This is a review of the PRODUCT, NOT ETRAILER - These fans are clearly NOT well manufactured. I have now had two and both of the motors made terrible noise. The original made high pitch noises and the replacement I ordered both CLICKS and the blades are completely off balance causing it to wobble when on. I had such high hopes for this replacement... Quality is terrible.
Failed after 8 months in operation so I thought it was the fan motor. Purchased this replacement fan motor part and installed it and still did not work. Finally found it was the lid switch. All I did was clean it and now works great. Anyone want to buy a perfectly good fan motor from me.
I like the fact that you do not have to remove the whole fan vent. 4 screws and 2 wires and the job is complete. works great.
The products were delivered quickly, and they were the exact replacements that I was looking for.
This was perfect and fit right in where the old one was. Simple wiring connections. I have bought numerous products foe a TT, Motor Home, and boat trailer over the last few years and they were all just as described and worked well.
This product works Great!!!!!
I installed in a Maxair vent in the bathroom. We use it as a cooling fan we close the windows and open the roof vent over the bed and the fan draws cool air at night right on top of the bed. The dimensions were very helpful, easy to install. The fan blades were slightly smaller than the original, however doesn't seem to affect the performance at all
The fan last less than one year , already broken
Easy installation! The fan blade was about a half short in diameter but the bug screen covered it up. A manual didn't come with the shipment. However, Amy from customer service got me all of the information I needed to complete the install. Thanks again and I highly recommend this unit for a Fantastic RV vent fan replacement.
Always a pleasure doing business with e Trailer
Fan seems to be a little out of balance. Makes a lot of noise, more than the old one that was taken out. Wish it was quieter.
This is the original Atwood equipment, not a copy. I am using it to retrofit into the original vent on a 1967 Airstream Globetrotter. Attached photo is the fitment trial, it should be perfect. I have 1-1/2 inch aluminum angle to make mounting brackets to use the original holes in the Airstream and the fan. Will probably use a radiator mounting kit to install it on springs.
Excellence product. Bolted right in with 4 bolts. Hooked up the 2 wires and away it went…very happy!
I have a stand alone fan in a square box assembly. I use it as a cooling fan. The replacement fan works great and it was shipped in a timely manner. Very good product and reasonably priced.
Super easy to replace old fan. I did need to remove the connector and replace with a new one to feed the wire through from top of vent to inside van. Perfect fit for an old Fantastic Fan.
The fan is very powerful, easy to replace however, it did not fit original mounting in the housing. The screw holes did not match up and with a minor adjustment, we made it work.
Thank you Joshua .good service , good delivery quality product.. thanks again
Perfect fit and does what it’s supposed too.
Went right in, works great. We've had nothing but good experiences with etrailer.com
Product arrived promptly and dropped right in. No issues. Old fan motor was completely worn out after 13 years of near continuous use. Fantastic vent is an excellent product and a must for all RVs in my opinion.
