Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Draw-Tite Hide-a-Goose, under-bed gooseneck trailer hitch. Has a 30,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this heavy duty under-bed hitch will let you tow your gooseneck trailer. The pop-in ball right here will fit securely in your hitch, and it's easy to insert or remove. Basically right now it's inserted, locked into place. You're ready to tow your gooseneck.
To remove it just pull up on the integrated lever here, turn it, and that'll release the ball bearings right here. It locks with this built-in ball bearing system. You can see when you turn it those will pop out and lock into place right there.Again, to install it just turn the integrated lever, drop it into place, turn that and it will lock it right into place. You're ready to go. Now, the round sleeve right here, and the round shank on the hitch ball, provides a tighter fit than the square design.
Helps reduce rattle. Boost durability. What's nice about this is when you're not going to be towing you'd have complete truck bed access. Basically just remove the ball from the hitch, take your rubber plug that's included, pop it onto there, and you can see it's all clear, ready to go. You can use your whole truck bed.The rubber plug will protect the ball hole from keeping any dirt and grime from getting in there.
Also, has the spring-loaded safety chain hookups right here, which are built-in. Now, the ball is a chrome-plated hitch ball. Resists rust. The hitch head is a black powder coat steel. Helps resist corrosion.Now, to install this it does require a custom rail kit for your vehicle.

Vertical load limit is 7,500 pounds, and on the gooseneck ball size it's your standard 2-5/16ths diameter. Again, if you're ready to tow pop out your rubber plug. Take your integrated lever, twist it, drop it right into place, turn that, and it locks it right in. You're all ready to go. Easy install once you get past the kinda confusing drawings. The safety hooks are pretty short, I just have the nuts flush with threads but can't get the hooks under them. I will have to look for longer ones. Took 3 hrs to install with having to remove hard tonneau cover and bed liner and reinstalling and clean up. Thought it would be worse!! The isolation tape they send with the hitch is kind of cheesy, hopefully it works. Was a great price!

Great product and it gets used regularly. The quick release is very convenient. My only complaint is that there are no options for an extended gooseneck ball. Similar to the Draw Tite 5" extension. This hitch will not allow you to install a conventional pin to use the draw tite extension as there is a thick piece of metal in the way. The quick release on the ball is the only option.

Hitch seems to be built fairly well as far as the head and rail kit. The side plates for the frame are not even as thick as my frame rail. Didn't like that. Also a major turn off to this hitch, on my truck, a 2001 dodge 2500 short bed, the carriage bolts that hold the head to the rails, the heads hit the bed floor, enough to where the bed does not sit flush on the frame. 4 1 inch holes had to be drilled in the bed to let the bolt heads through. Also used a hare bigger hole saw than 3.5 to give some wiggle room. But the bolts hitting the floor needs to be addressed by draw tite. Wouldn't recommend for a dodge pickup

1)Comes with zero instructions. When you scan the little code on the packing list it comes up 404 error page not found. You then have to print them out on your home computer.
2)Holes did not line up correctly. You are constantly taking out bolts and re inserting them trying to get stuff started.
3)Unless you have a 5/8 tap to clean out the threaded holes good luck! There is so much powder coating in them bolt's won't start.
4)Takes way longer than the estimated time.
5)I have put in several goose neck hitches this is probably one of the heaviest. It was by far the worst to install.

I installed the hitch on a 2011 F-150 crew cab with 5 1/2 ft bed. Works perfect with no clearance issues between the truck cab and a platform style gooseneck trailer. Well engineered product.
I would recommend using a lift and removing both rear tires and the spare for more working room. I also marked and drilled the hole for the ball from underneath the bed for a perfect fit.

I couldn't have picked a better hitch for the price! I took it to a local business (Carolina welders, Laurinburg NC) and it took him only an hour to install and it installed perfectly! In two days I had my horse trailer hooked to it and I haven't had an issue since! And when I'm not hauling a trailer I easily flip the ball and I slide my dogbox in! I was skeptic about ordering but I do not regret my decision ANY!!! Love this hitch!

Ordered the hide a ball gooseneck hitch I had it in 4 business days with the free shipping, and if that wasn't good enough I found a cheaper priced hitch on another site after I bought it, and etrailer refunded me the difference plus 5% and lowered the price online so that the customers are getting the best bang for the buck with hands down the best customer service I have encountered yet. As far as the hitch goes it comes with plenty of instructions and all the hardware and took a buddy and I 2 hours from start to finish to complete.

I have bought from etrailer for many years now. Many hitches from a 2005 Toyota highlander hitch and wiring, to a 2012 Chrysler town and country hitch and wiring, brake controller to my most recent one a 2008 dodge ram mega cab gooseneck hitch.
Every part I have bought have fit without any modification. The YouTube videos are specially helpful. I've recieved my shipment a few days ago which was way faster then I expected. Today i woke up ready to install it, I read the instructions and watched the YouTube video went under my truck bed and started working on it.
I did mess up on the hole for the ball but that was my oops. Very satisfied.

Easy to install, parts are heavy so be careful. I had a issue installing, but that is because I had air-lift bags on my truck. I removed the Air-lift bags and the install went fine. I will modify the air-lift bag brackets and reinstall them. They do need a better cover than the magnet. It blew off driving down the road.

Excellent product, easy to follow directions. Videos was great help. Installers in videos make it seem a simple install. I would say if you haven't installed one before it will most likely take more time than expected. Take your time and follow directions step by step. Some unexpected encounters with my truck was a plastic channel than ran along bottom of wheel wheels on both sides that had wiring running thur them. Had to lower to install fasteners. The cross members have threaded studs on end that are painted. Take a wire brush and remove paint from the studs so nuts will go on easy.

Yes I have had the hitch installed in my truck about a year now and it has done me well. I was pulling a 9 bail hay trailer all last week delivering big round bails and have pulled our equipment trailer and OK Coral also with no problems. Just remember to keep the ball receiver lightly greased so you can turn over your ball eawsly. I love my hitch.

Good hitch. Love the drop and lock ball way more than my old hide-a-goose turnover ball. Installed it myself and only had to unbolt the brake like bracket. Left spare tire and exhaust in place. Put the ball in the center piece and slid it up and had my neighbor hold it by the ball while I put the conicals and nuts on.

Draw-tite is the Most easy hitch to install!!!! I have had more expensive hitches on other trucks let me tell you Draw-Tite is just as good as the higher priced ones I have had ...I all so like to add. etrailer is a great place to deal with great prices. after waiting two weeks for another on-line company to ship the hitch I order, then being told three more weeks for it to be shipped I cancelled order and reorder from etrailer and received it in three days, box was torn open but every thing was there. It did not take 90 minutes about 3 hours still not bad. Hitch looks good have to wait to try it

Nice kit, tough job w/out a lift but can be done, keep in mind the U bolts for breakaway chain attachment are different and s/b installed per the instructions to avoid interference with the fuel tank, etc. Figured it would include electrical kit but was not, likely due to too many configuration options and truck types.

30000 lb hitch with “Do not exceed 25000lb or vehicle rating” stickers on every part. If I was putting it in a bigger truck I’d send it back.
Otherwise nice kit and reasonably easy install. Don’t forget your 3 1/2” hole saw for the bed.

Neanderthal Parcel Shipping destroyed the box that the mount kit came in and lost all of the mounting hardware. I made a quick call on a Sunday no less and Ed answered the phone, I explained to him the problem, he requested a picture of the box condition and then promptly had all the necessary hardware parts shipped out. Outstanding service and the hitch is great quality too.
