Replacement Female Quick Disconnect for Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System

I was impressed with the quality of the replacement female disconnect (SM99613) for the SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System.

The part was installed to replace the damaged female disconnect on the air jumper. It will restore the separate braking ability of the “toad” vehicle being pulled by our motorhome which is a safety factor.

Finally, the Customer Service Specialist was outstanding and delivery was fast.

Replace the quick disconnect on the airline. I turned the ferrule nut hand tight and then wrench tight one turn. Tested at 25 psi. Had a small leak, turned nut 1/4 more. No leak. Happy with the purchase.866738

This replacement female coupler is supplied by SMI, the manufacture of the Air Force One braking system. It is identical to the original female quick connect on the jumper and is also supplied for the motorhome end. I needed to replace the quick connect end of the jumper because it somehow released from the male end on the toad, and wore itself down to a nub as it dragged along the highway. By design, the Parker Rectus RF-25 quick disconnect isn't supposed to release once engaged. I unscrewed the worn piece and screwed on the new coupler - good as new. Be sure to pull test the connection and confirm that the system engages the brake before embarking on your trip. 152574
