Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the Demco vacuum connection tee fitting. This tee fitting is going to allow you to connect directly to your factory brake booster rather than having to splice into your factory vacuum system while installing your air force one, or Stay-IN-Play DUO supplemental braking system. So with those systems, you are going to need to access your vehicle's brakes to make sure that the vehicle can slow and stop itself, especially if it comes disconnected from your RV while you're flat towing. You want to make sure that it's going to be able to apply those brakes. So you do need to connect to your vehicle's brakes somehow. This system is going to make that much easier rather than having to splice into your factory hose.
This is going to provide a lot of those fittings for you.Now this is going to be required for some newer Jeeps, Fords mostly. I also work with some GMCs and Chryslers as well. The main way to know whether this system or this tee fitting will work for you, or if you need it, is to check your brake booster, see if there's a sensor on the brake booster. If there is, there's a good chance that you're going to need this. And the reason that it's kind of vehicle specific is because you are going to remove the factory vacuum line from that brake booster and not all vehicles will allow you to do that. So the main way to check that out is to see if there is a sensor on your brake booster.
If you have it there, there's a good chance this is going to work for you. And it's really easy to get this installed as you're installing your Air Force One or Stay-IN-Play DUO.Basically you're just going to remove that fitting from your brake booster, insert that fitting into the one end here. You can see, we already have a clamp to clamp down onto that to make sure that that's a nice snug fitting. Then we're going to plug our Demco vacuum line into the smaller port here, and then our elbow fitting is going to insert right back into our brake booster grommets. So it's going to reconnect that vehicle's system, but then it's also going to splice in our Demco vacuum line there. So like I said, I wish I could give you a specific list of vehicles that will need this, but just check under your hood, see if you can find that sensor on your brake booster.
If you do have it, this is going to be an important component to make sure that your supplemental braking system is going to work while you're flat towing. So that's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
