Today we're going to take a look at the replacement bypass solenoid valve for the Demco brake actuators. This is for a quantity of one. This will replace the bypass solenoid valve that's included with your Demco brake actuator. It's designed for use with the Demco DA10, DA 20, and the DA91 models with the electric reverse lockout. Also replaces the valve from the add-on solenoid kits that we sell. Part number DM5404, DM5752, 5750, 5753, 5758, and 5789.This will install in your trailer brake actuator to prevent the trailer brakes from locking when you go into reverse.

This is an electric bypass solenoid which automatically is activated when you shift your tow vehicle into reverse. The solenoid wires into the trailer connector which connects to your tow vehicle so that it can detect when you're in reverse. Basically you can see the two black wires on the solenoid here. One is a ground wire, one's a power wire. The power wire is connected to the reverse circuit on your trailer connector and the ground wire to a good ground connection.How to use the lockout feature, you must have a five-way flat, six way round, our seven way trailer connector.

Basically when your vehicle's in reverse, this solenoid will ensure that that hydraulic actuator does not activate your trailer brakes, allowing you to back up your trailer. Also, if you notice here, there's three threaded ports on it. On those ports one, will go from the master cylinder to the solenoid, one from the side of the solenoid back to the master cylinder, and the one port right here at the very back of the solenoid is for your brake line to connect to.
