What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this Curt 7 Pole Bracket. We're gonna use this to install to extend out, where we want our 7 pole plugin to be. Let's check it out. Every setup is a little bit different when you go to add wiring to your vehicle. Sometimes there's not a whole lot of room underneath.
So on our vehicle today, we wanna bring the adapter further out so it's easier to plug in our trailer. You don't want it in back here behind the hitch and there's not really room up here towards the top. So with the long bracket, we attach the 7 pole bracket so it has a spot to stay all the time and we know it's secure. As far as install goes, I would just go ahead and get a long bracket to extend it away from the vehicle so you have something to attach to. But check out how I did it.
We have everything set up here. We're ready to add our 7 pole bracket, and this has the holes here to line up with the top. So it'll just drop our pole through, line up that first one, I'm gonna put a nut on the backside that'll help hold it in place. So now we're gonna add a nut on this side. You wanna make sure you look at the spacing between the holes.
So this bracket is gonna work best with the hole spacing, which is gonna be from center to center on these mounting holes that has this spacing of 2-1/4". Now if you had one that had 2-1/2" like this other one, the holes just aren't gonna line up correctly. You want a different 7 pole bracket, which Pollak offers that as well, that it fits way better. So you just slide that in there and already see 'cause the slot and holes are gonna be more adaptable to whatever setup you have. Same thing with the hardware.
Pull a bolt through here and then add it out on the backside. And we're gonna do that for all 4 holes on our 7 pole. With all 4 of these installed, we'll come back with our wrench, go on the back and then use a flat blade screwdriver to finish tightening it down so the plug stays in place. That about does it for a quick look at the 7 pole bracket, really easy to install and really helpful to have to get that 7 pole moved out more towards the back of the vehicle. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, hope this helped.

Curt bracket does not fit Curt 7 blade harness.
Doesn’t properly fit the 7-way harness I ordered. The screw holes in the 7-way socket on the harness don’t line up with the holes in this mounting adapter.

I do have an alternate mounting bracket that will work better for you. It is part # PK12711U. The slotted holes tend to line up better that this one does. We will be in contact with you to work out a solution for you.
First of all the bracket for the seven pin connector doesn’t work and you don’t get any bolts to connect the bracket to the hitch very disappointing.

Yes, in my opinion this bracket should come with hardware. I recommend part # PK12711U instead. The slotted holes work with more seven ways and it comes with the hardware to attach.
I gave this bracket only four stars mainly because it wasn't compatible with the Curt 7-way trailer connector that I ordered with it. No problem, etrailer refunded my money right away and shipped me a different bracket. But this bracket is also made of a lighter gauge metal and is thus a little more flimsy than the Hopkins Universal that replaced it. Still, if it fits your connector, it will probably last as long as anything else, and it's half the cost of the Hopkins.
The bracket is the right size and fitment however it doesn't come with any hardware and was slightly bent when it arrived.
I ordered a Curt branded wiring kit for my Ford Ranger and this was the recommended connector by the website to purchase with it for connection. None of the holes line up with the kit that I purchased and so this is therefore useless to me. Many of the reviews state this same thing.
For reference, my kit was item number C56431
Plug bracket did not fit the mounting holes of the 7 prong wire plug I bought. Maybe I ordered the wrong one, I would think they would be universal. I ended up finding what I needed at O'reilly's auto and it was heavier gauge.
I have a 2500 sprinter and the factory wiring harness fit perfectly into this.
I'd have put 5 stars if it came with mounting hardware. Fit the stock 7 pin receiver on my 2023 Sprinter perfectly. Just what I was looking for.
Works, but it hangs down to far on the Hyundai Santa Cruz.
Everything is still hooked and working.
Would be nice to have hardware to go with it but otherwise worked as intended.
Won’t work with end connection of 7 pin connector had to by one at orileys it’s holes don’t line up not even close
Did not match plug on wire harness
Item #C56393 had to drill my own holes to make it fit
Hole pattern did not line up with Curt wiring harness kit I purchased. Not wide enough to be able to modify/redrill. Kind of worthless!
I just opened up my new Class 5 Curt XD hitch and have not yet installed it so my comments are based on first impressions only. It is very heavy duty - and heavy at 40 lbs. - made of extremely thick metal and outfitted with quality Grade 8 bolts with square necks so they won’t turn when torquing on the nuts to attach the main tube to the side mounting plates. My bolts are plated yellow (which I like) rather than silver as you may have seen in some online photographs. It is substantially beefier than my existing Grade 4 hitch and superior in every way. It’s an impressive piece of hardware. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with it on specifications, quality, strength, and general appearance. It’s a beast. What I AM disappointed in is Curt’s packaging and the condition in which the hitch arrived. (This is NOT a reflection on etrailer.com as the hitch arrived in Curt’s original packaging.) The unassembled main tube and the two side mounting plates come bundled together with nothing separating them but shrink wrap. No cardboard, plastic, even paper coming between the metal surfaces - just shrinkwrap probably not even a couple of mils thick. With basically metal-to-metal contact in an oversized-box with the bundle jostling around, it would be a miracle if there were no scratches, gouges, or some type of damage to at least one piece, which is exactly what happened to my hitch. The main hitch tube, on the exterior facing plane, on the driver side where I’ll see it every day, has some gouges on it that go through the powder-coating to bare metal. I can - and will - paint them to prevent rust (and, therefore, have to paint the whole hitch to match). But the gouges will still be noticeable as they go through the thicker, pebbly, powder-coat finish and will undoubtedly still appear as depressions in the surface even once painted. I fully realize this kind of surface damage will almost certainly happen with regular usage of the hitch anyway and that it’s certifiable to demand absolute perfection in anything. But if you are someone who cares about the aesthetics of your equipment and keeping it looking new for as long as possible, it is very disappointing to receive such an expensive and prominent piece of hardware damaged right out of the box and requiring immediate repainting. The plastic parts bag had also ripped open in transit, with nuts, bolts, shims, etc. rattling around in the box. I am dumbfounded that Curt packages such a high-quality piece of equipment so shoddily where such damage is virtually unavoidable. I bought from Curt solely due to their being an American manufacturer and to support American workers so this is doubly discouraging. It’s a trivial complaint in the big scheme of things and not worth demanding a replacement over. Just be aware that unless Curt changes their packaging practices it is very possible you will have the wind taken out of your towing project sails just as I have. Again, this in no way reflects on etrailer. My experience to date with etrailer (website, educational resources, staff reviews, ordering, tracking, email contact, etc.) has been beyond exemplary in every way. They rank as a Top Five online retailer in my opinion, maybe even the best.
Doesn't fit at all, called customer service, was told I could buy a different one for XX$. No thank you.
It is not for this connector
Did not fit the wire harness purchased and was recommended to purchase this item by you web site. Contacted customer service and they explained I had to drill holes to mount the wire harness. (2) holes were slightly offset and made it very difficult to drill a correct hole in the bracket.
Worked well
Fast shipping but none of the holes for mounting the 7pin lined up, even though they were both Curt products. Easy remedy but should not have happened.
Could be a little more rigid but it does the job
I would be more likely to order again from etrailer if I did not receive so many emails for surveys and pats on the back. I received the first survey request before the item arrived and the second just minutes after. Have not even had time to begin to install items. It feels almost like harassment. I can usually find what I need here but get irritated with constant emails. Probably would rate higher but won’t get to installation for a couple of days and then the products need to prove themselves before a rating can be valid, unless all I’m rating is the delivery. It came as advertised, thought not fast.
Exactly what I needed to install my 7 pin plug

Oh no, I am sorry it didnt fit your Curt Harness, part # CU86FR. I have gotten some measurements of the harness and have confirmed that it is slightly too big for this bracket. Let me get a return issued for you.
