Speaker: Today we'll be taking a look at the Camco Garden Hose Connector for unthreaded or stripped faucets, part no. CAM22484. Here we are at our water faucet. Let's go over a few features here at the . of the water bandit itself. It has a male end thread for garden hose style connection. The other end, the whole other end of it's more or less just rubber that allows you to connect to a stripped out faucet or one even that doesn't have any threads at all.
You see here by having these little grooves in here it's what you actually work on to the stripped out or non-threaded water supply. A couple of things we need to remember when using the water bandit you cannot use this against a closed end water source. If you put it on your water source and then you're going to connect it to your camper or RV you can't leave it unattended and you also can't have it to where it's closed off. You need to use it only if you're going to fill your fresh water tanks. You can't turn it on and just connect it to your city water connection as this could come off of there and it's also not designed for a lot of pressure to be against it. It is designed to have on open-end hose, so the water is coming out there's not an excess pressure being built up against it. Let's go ahead and show you how we'll hook it up now.
Go ahead and take our end of our hose. Thread this in. Snug it down. Now we'll go ahead down here on to our faucet. You just simply, just push it into place and it's secure.
By having the ribs inside there it actually locked in on the faucet. Now, we'll go ahead and turn our water on. Now with our water on we're still connected to our garden hose but yet it sealed up the damaged portions so we're not having water spraying out everywhere and we're allowed to still fill up what we need to. Again, remember you only want to use this on an open-end hose. We cannot have pressure being built up against it, it is not designed for that type of usage. I have a Moen spray type faucet. I needed this so that I can attach it to a garden hose, run the hose through my living room and wash down my balcony on the second floor of a condo unit. Hopefully soon an adapter will be made that can truly adjust to fit all faucet sizes.
Works as intended. We camp at a Forest service campground that does not have hook ups. But has a pump without a screw spigot, this allows me to run my water hose to the trailer and fill the water tank.
Just to have in case of an emergency and fittings are messed up. The hope is to never have to use it.
Works great but need two people. Have to hold it tightly on the faucet or the pressure will blow it off. Good item for the money. In some cases make sure you have a long enough hose
Julie - 09/18/2021Came in handy recently at a state park where they did not have a threaded fitting on the water supply. My only issue is it needs to have some nylon reinforcement in the. Instructions say to not use under pressure which I didn't but it separated. The only back pressure was the water was going through a camco filter on the way into the tank on the power fill setting. And a thumb operated hose clamp would be a nice addition so you don't have to stand with a tight grip on the faucet.
Disappointed. I wanted this part to attach a hose to my kitchen sink . Then I could fill my outdoor hot tub without turning on the outdoor faucet in the freezing weather. My kitchen faucet was much larger (2X) than the rubber adapter, so I could not use it. The bathroom faucet was also too large. I was going to return it, but I didn't feel like paying the postage, so I'll just hold onto it in case someone else can use it.

I use this to connect a 5 gallon water jug to a pump. This allows me to pump fresh water into my RV. It's easy and leak free.
I purchased this to connect a garden hose to a laundry tub faucet and it worked like a champ. No leaks and the hose didn't fly off due to water pressure, a very handy product that did it's job well.
This is perfect to throw in with my drinking water hoses when camping.
A lot of campgrounds have old fashioned spigots that don't have threads. This will easily allow me to refill my fresh water tank for extended stays without moving camper.

Yes, it doesn't handle pressure very well. I've since purchased a couple of clamps that hopefully will keep hose connector secure when I turn on the water. Haven't tried yet....as of this writing.
Laura E - 08/30/2017Everything that I ordered came within a reasonable time and in good shape. However, I was astonished by the size of the box it came in! The box was at least 3x the size of the material in it. The rest was filled with crumbled brown paper. Box was sealed closed with close to 50 industrial staples making it difficult and hazardous to open. I think an environmentalist would be appalled at the over packaging. Suggest the packaging dept. get a bigger variety of boxes to ship materials in. Otherwise, e-Trailer is my choice of camping and trailer supplies.
It doesn,t keep connected very well. A small hose clamp will fix that problem.
Works great for those US Forest Service Campgrounds that have don't have water spickets with threads to refill your RV.

Haven't used the hose connector yet but it does fit oncampground faucets.
