AJ: What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to look at some locks from BulletProof Hitches. Now these are five eights diameter locks. They're going to fit in your hitch to lock the ball mount to your hitch and you can even use them here to lock your ball into place so that nobody can mess with any piece of your BulletProof Hitches. Let's check it out. The lock comes in a few different kits.
You can get just one, you can get two, or you can get three and each one's going to come with two keys. So if you get the three-pack, you're going to get six keys with it. All them keyed alike so you don't have to worry about carrying all six keys on you all the time. You can just have one set here on your key ring, and it's going to work with all the locks so you can quickly move whatever you need to move around. It's got a nice rubber dust cap here on the end that's going to keep things from getting in your lock and gunking it up, or just eroding it over time. As long as you have this dust cap on there, the elements won't get to it and it won't be bothered.
Another thing that's unique about this lock is it's got two holes here, so that depends on your hitch size. Let me pull the pin out here. It's a little tight here by the hitch. Depending on your hitch size is the one you're going to use. So on a slightly bigger hitch, like a two and a half inch, this one might not be visible so it'll stick out a little bit more and it's a tighter fit.So you can go ahead and use the pin in that hole or that one, which is the one we're going to use on this two-inch hitch, that way the pin's right next to it and it keeps it from going back and forth once you put the pin right in there.
You're going to have four inches of usable space and that's from the cylinder here to this end here and then overall, it's going to be seven and a half inches. I'm going to show you how easy it is just to replace one of your existing pins with the lock.Pull the pin on this side, add our locking pin in there, push it on the cylinder and lock it up. It's that easy. Another nice feature is this grip here on this end, because when you go to unlock it, like I'm going to do here and put the old pin back in, let me get over there so I can see it, you're going to want to hold this because it's going to want to turn when you go to turn the key, so you can grip it on this side and it helps you be able to turn and then pull the pin out. The whole thing's made out of stainless steel, so if you do leave it in here and you leave the ball mount on the back of your vehicle all the time, it's not going to cause any problems.
It's not going to erode or rust. It'll be just fine. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out.
