Install a 7-way, RV-style trailer connector on your vehicle with this easy-to-splice harness. ModuLite draws power directly from the battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's circuits. Brake controller wiring harness included.

Specs:
A ModuLite power module is built into this wiring harness. Because most trailers run on a 2-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on 1 wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's 3-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Universal Seven-Way ModuLite wiring harness and brake controller harness. Now this kit will provide this seven-way blade-style trailer connector at the back of your vehicle, to power your trailer signal lights. It is compatible with four-pole, five-pole, and six-pole adapters that we do sell separately on our website. This kit does splice into your vehicle wiring. The ModuLite right here, this black box, this ensures that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. It is a powered module, connects directly to your battery, and that's to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system.
Also includes the harness right here, that has the four-pin connection point for plugging in your brake controller wiring adapter. This kit will include everything laid out here on the table, the body harness, the seven-way harness with the seven-way socket, the brake control wiring harness, all the fuse holders with required fuses to install it, wire taps, butt connectors, cable ties, and some additional installation hardware, and even gives you a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how to install it with pictures. Now the wire, it's constructed of a 16 gauge bonded wire. Few specs on this kit. The maximum amperage on the stop and turn light circuits is 4.2 amps per circuit, and on the tail lights, it's 7.5 amps per circuit. That should do it for the review on the Universal Seven-Way ModuLite wiring harness and brake controller harness.

Install a 7-way, RV-style trailer connector on your vehicle with this easy-to-splice harness. ModuLite draws power directly from the battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's circuits. Brake controller wiring harness included.Product was great. Good quality wiring. Everything needed to install on my truck. Socket for the plug is great quality. Will be another for my other truck when needed. 525772
I wired this up myself with no previous experience. I took my time, planned out the job, and went good and slow because I didn't want to have to troubleshoot something that I knew little about. Because of my painfully slow speed and constant double-checking, the job took me a big part of the day, but it went together without any problems. I used heat-shrink butt connectors, and then after shrinking, I coated with liquid black electric tape. Have had zero problems. Directions were pretty good, although I had to google a thing or two that weren't clear enough for this rookie. Good product!!! 341754
Installed on my 1973 Dodge W200 to allow pulling trailers. I equip my trailers only with 7-way RV plugs to make life easier: no fiddling around with different connectors. I don't like trailer wiring faults to blow tow vehicle fuses and trailer faults are far more common than TV faults. This is the best retrofit kit I found. Pro: 1. relatively complete kit, 2. fairly easy to install for anyone with basic auto electrical skills, 3. wires plenty long Room for improvement: 1. should have a larger wire for 12V battery power (pin 4) any circuit fused for 30A should have at least 10AWG Cu wire; 2. brakes should be on a self-resetting circuit breaker vs. the supplied fuse (if the fuse blows in an emergency, you're sunk. A self-resetting CB will give you a chance to recover.) 3. No bracket supplied for the 7-way socket and none of the local parts houses had any that would substitute. I fabricated my own. Bottom line, my brakes work fine, the lights light up, and the breakaway brake battery gets charged. However, I hesitate using it to keep my camp trailer battery up, due to the light wire. 443908
Excellent product, I like to use the eltrailer products! Also, the etrailer service is the best. Thank you so much! 527472
Worked as described. Directions were spot on. Easy install 486157
The product and electronics are working fine. Disappointed in the finish of the actual hitch. It has rusted. The rear trailer interface has Rusted and the powder coat is chipping. I need to remove it and get it replated as it stands out against the paint. This should not happen after just about a year.
We were having untraceable electrical problems with our travel and horse trailers. Eventually husband suspected a failure in our 85 F250's tow package. We were fortunate to find this wiring harness on etrailer.com and we two senior citizens were able to avoid having to trace the wiring in the old truck by installing this product. We paired it with a new Tekonsha brake unit. It solved our electrical problems to perfection with a minimum of head scratching and trouble. 720192
