What can I say? It does its job. I used a 6-pole connector so that I could wire in a battery charger for our toad. The awesome folks at etrailer.com had to send me a replacement because one of the "ears" cracked during shipping. I'm assuming that it got squashed between some heavy parts as it was only packaged in a plastic bag. 402874

Ask the Experts about this Pollak Wiring

  • What Circuits do the 2 Wires on a Trailer Surge Brake Actuator Wire To
Your surge brake setup has an electric lockout solenoid. Either one of the wires on your brake needs to run to the reverse light circuit on your trailer connector and the other wire needs to ground. Doesn't matter which you use as they are not polarity sensitive. On a 6-way the most likely pin to carry the reverse light circuit would be the center pin.

  • Using 12-Volt Accessory Feed From Trailer Connector to Maintain Battery on Pop-Up Trailer
Typically, the blue wire on a 6-way connector is used to carry the output voltage from the brake controller. The 12-volt auxiliary feed, which usually feeds the center pin on the trailer connector can be used to maintain a fully charged battery, but will not have enough amperage to charge a dead battery.

  • Recommendations for Trailer End 6-Way Round Pin Connector
Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin, Plastic Trailer Wiring Socket w/ Rubber Boot - Vehicle End Item # PK12720 is the vehicle side 6-Way round connector. For the trailer side you would need Hopkins Endurance 6-Way Trailer Connector - Trailer End - Ergonomic Design - w/ Holder # HM48440. Or you could get one with wiring # 50-61-104. And a third option is to get the vehicle AND trailer ends together using # RM-910030-6. I have linked videos on all 3 parts for you.

  • Connector Needed for 6-Way Wire to 4-Way Round Socket on Towed Vehicle
The easiest and most cost-effective thing to do would be to install the Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin, Plastic Trailer Wiring Socket # PK12720 on your vehicle that is being towed. Aside from that you would have to use a different cord like the Hopkins # HM47043 that goes from a 7-Way blade to a 4-Way round as there aren't any adapters.

  • Parts to Convert a 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector to a 6-Way Round on a 2008 Jeep Rubicon Unlmited
We have a brake controller wiring kit, part # ETBC6, that will allow you to convert your 4-Way to a 6-Way round. This kit includes everything you need to convert your 4-Way and install a brake controller. You would connect your 4-Way to the 4-Way on the back of the ETBC6. Next you would ground the white wire. You would extend the blue wire up to the cab for the brake controller output. The red wire would then be connected to your reverse light circuit or run up to the battery for a...

  • Replacement Trailer Connector For 1995 Ford F-150
I am not sure if you need the replacement connector for the vehicle side of your 1995 Ford F-150 or if you need the trailer connector that would plug into the F-150, so I will give you some options for both of them. You can use a circuit tester like part # 40376 to check the wires by function when installing a connector. If the connector you need is on the vehicle side and you determine it is a 6-way, I recommend part # PK12720. This is a plastic 6-pole round pin socket that would be...

  • Can Hopkins HM56202 be Wired into 6-Way Connector on Front of Towed Vehicle
Absolutely! We actually recommend doing this exact install a lot of the time. Using a 6-way, like part # PK12720 for an example, at the vehicle's front allows you to install additional wiring for a braking system or charge line but doing it this way makes it an easier install because the Hopkins # HM56202 is the easiest to install harness for your 2004 Jeep.

Replacing the wiring harness on your 1976 Jayco Eagle pop up trailer should be fairly easy. If your trailer is set up with brake/turn signals, and tail lights only then I would remove the factory square 6-way wiring connector and replace it with a 4-way flat connector, item # 18004. • When Truck is Put in Reverse the Trailer Brakes Lock Up
Are you certain that you have the 6-way connector, like part # PK12720 with the 6 round pins? Or do you have the 7-way connector like part # PK11893 that features 6 blade-type pins with one connector in the center? The two can sometimes be confused. There are two possible reasons why the brakes are locking up on the trailer. If you have a surge or hydraulic coupler on the trailer, such as those typically found on boat trailers, the hydraulic brakes will lock up when the vehicle reverses...

  • Wiring a Stand Alone Battery for Portable Power Supply for a Horse Trailer With 6 or 7-Way Connector
I think I can help you out here, but you would need to build the adapter as you have suggested. I do not know of a power supply connector assembly for a stand-alone battery at this time. I would start with an appropriate length of 10 gauge double bonded wire, # 10-2-1, to go from the 7-way or 6-way trailer connector to the area where the battery will be stored. Do not store the battery inside the horse trailer or directly on the ground. Next, wire a vehicle end connector that is compatible...
