The adapter works great! I used it the day that I got it. I have an 18' car trailer that I just needed to take down to get a VIN inspection and I wanted to use my Jeep Wrangler because it's so easy to maneuver the trailer. I plugged the 7 blade from the trailer into the adapter, plugged the 4 wire flat into the Jeep, connected the ground wire, and the lights and turn signals all worked fine!!!!

Used the wiring harness and an adapter plug to give my Cherokee a factory installed towing kit look. No connector wires visible. Great product.

Used this to install a 7 pin plug on my vehicle instead of having to use an adapter on the 4 pin plug. Hooked it up to the travel trailer and lights worked great.

Excellent products that resolved my trailer connection issues. The "Hopkins Quick-Install Trailer Connector Adapter 4-way flat to 7 blade HM47200" and the "T-1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Flat Trailer Connector 118334" were the perfect combination for the quick, simple and successful installation on my 2001 Dodge Durango. Along with the great products "etrailer" provided helpful information on their website, and fast shipping! Thanks again!

I purchased the endurance model expecting a much improved version of the standard product, however the product was not sealed as well as the lesser equivalent product, and cannot be sealed from the elements, and came in two parts, to be unsealed to the elements and snapped together by the installer. I would have much preferred a sealed assembly, like the lesser equivalent model.

Quick delivery, excellent installation videos.

Simple plugs right in to existing 4 pole (flat) ground the white wire and lights will work but 3 more wires still need hard wired inn . 10 min install

  • Installation of Curt C51180 Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller on 2006 Honda Odyssey
Rather than using the # HM47200, I'd go with the # ETBC7L, which includes a 4-pole to 7-way adapter plus the wire and circuit breaker needed to run the power supply wire up to the positive battery terminal that's needed to power the Curt # C51180 wireless brake controller. You'll only need to run one wire from the adapter to the battery at the front of the vehicle, and ground the adapter's white wire to the vehicle. The remaining wires on the adapter won't be needed. I'll link to some...

  • Parts Needed to Install a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2007 Honda Odyssey
I installed a trailer hitch and trailer wiring on my mother-in-laws 2007 Honda Odyssey and I can tell you that unfortunately there are no plug-in 7-way wiring harnesses. To install a 7-way connector on your Odyssey, I recommend first installing a 4-way harness like the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, # 118438. This is a plug-in harness that does not require cutting or splicing. I have attached the installation instruction and an installation video on a 2007 Honda Odyssey for you to check...

  • Troubleshooting no Running Lights with the Hopkins 7-way to 4-way Adapter part # HM47200
The Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47200 that you referenced should work well without any modifications. It sounds like the running light issue you are seeing is on the 4-way of his F150. Use a circuit tester like our part # 3808 to test the pin with the brown wire coming out of it for voltage when the head lights or running lights of his vehicle are on. If there is no voltage there then the problem is on the vehicle side of the wiring. Trace the circuit...

  • 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter Recommendation for a Trailer That Does not Have Brakes
Since your trailer doesn't have brakes you could use the # HM47200 as an adapter for your 2016 Toyota Highlander. You would just want to tape up the extra wires that wouldn't be used. After that you would just need to plug in the 4-way of the adapter to the 4-way of your vehicle and the 7-way would be ready to plug into the connector on your trailer.

I have included a couple of links that explain and show the ETBC7 installation for you. If you will be towing any trailers that have...

Sounds like your 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 was wired to be used with a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer. If you are wanting to switch the 7-way plug back to its original location, then you will need to use the 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets w/ Mounting Bracket and Wiring, # HM40975-11998. The Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Flat to 7-Blade # HM47200 is a great start for your 7-way molded trailer connector, but you will need to not only install the 4-way trailer connector, but also make sure you have a good ground connection on the white wire with the terminal ring. This will not give you a good connection without a bare metal to metal connection on that wire. Then you can add the other 3 wires to complete your 7-way. The purple wire...

  • Recommended 4-Pole to 7-Way Trailer Connector Adapter
The # HM47200 would indeed adapt your existing 4 pole to a 7-way blade-style trailer connector. In that respect, it would work just fine. However, I typically recommend going with the # 37185 instead, as the adapter also offers a 4-pole connector. If your trailer doesn't have or need trailer brakes or a need for a 12-v power supply, you'd simply plug the adapter into your existing 4-pole, and ground the white tire to the vehicle frame. This will provide you with lighting functions,...

First, there are a couple of ways you can add a 7-Way trailer connector to your 2014 Nissan Frontier. You could hardwire it or you can use a plug and play 7-Way. I recommend the plug and play type, # C56226, because it costs about the same as the hardwire kit, # ETBC7, and it will be much easier to install. • Can Hopkins Endurance Trailer Connector Adapter Just be Grounded and Other Wires Not Connected
Yes, you can just plug in your 4-Way to the Hopkins Endurance connector, # HM47200, ground it, and not connect the remaining wires if they are not needed. You can tape them up and stow them out of the way. For future reference, the blue wire would connect to the brake output circuit from a trailer brake controller.
