Easy-Pull Ring Handle Is Easy to Grip and Pull

Easy Pull

Standard 4-way flat plugs have a small surface area to grip when you are pulling them apart, forcing you to wriggle the plugs back and forth to loosen them. Some users even pull on the wires. This can lead to broken terminals or ripped wiring. With the Easy-Pull harness, the plug has a large grip ring designed to make disconnecting a snap. Simply slide your finger into the ring and pull the plug away from the opposite plug to disconnect.

Easy Pull Rings

The Easy-Pull is also available as a vehicle-end 4-way flat plug. Combine the Easy-Pull trailer-end plug and vehicle-end plug for the easiest possible disconnection. With ring handles on both connectors, disconnecting is as simple as gripping the rings and pulling straight apart. No wriggling, no broken terminals, and no damaged wires.

Nice solid, molded grab handle. I’m switching all my 4 wire trailers over to these harness. Well made

Have not had one issue in the year since I installed them. A+. Worth the extra cost

This is a great product, solid and great quality. Three things that would help the consumer. First thing would be to add solder-less connectors. Next thing would be to have about 6-8” of exposed wire to work with when coupling. And last thing would be to furnish a dust cover for the plug end.

I couldn’t be any more happy. It has held up to many fishing trips on my boat trailer, great!

So much easier to use with the large pull handle. Great for use when your Trucks harness is in a tough to reach place

I have purchased these ones before, for our fleet of trailers. Great quality cable and easy to plug in/out of vehicle. I stock a couple of these for repairs.

Great product! Makes installing and removal easy and you have less of an opportunity of damaging the prongs when removing (as compared to the traditional 4 flat plug). As with any product it is not indestructible but far better than the latter.

Exactly what I wanted. Excellent quality. Couldn’t find it anywhere. Etrailer had it !

The wiring was just what I needed and the shipping was quick. I will definitely be using etrailer more in the future.

Absolutely love this product!

very heavy duty trailer pigtail cable. This is what I need to prevent kinks and breaks in the wiring harness. Nothing like hooking up trailer lights that dont work because the wiring is easily damaged.

- HM38134
by:

Just as advertised, quick service and s hipping

- HM38134

Finger pull feels good and will make it much easier to plug and unplug. The jacketed wire is a bonus to keep everything tidy.

- HM38134

Excellent product. It has held up well over the last year of use.

- HM38134

A real upgrade to typical 4 wire trailer connectors. If you are doing any trailer wiring I strongly recommend this replacement. Well made with an integrated cover like a outdoor extension cable the ring makes it easy to hold when inserting or removing the connection from your vehicle. It would be perfect if it came with the very fine cover that Hopkins includes with most other variations of the "ring" style connector.

- HM38134
by:

Solid construction and a long enough lead to easily connect and reach the trailer hookup.

- HM38134
by:

you would have thought it would have come with protective cover

Works perfectly111

- HM38134
by:

This connector should be on every trailer! Thanks etrailer for the seamless order and instructional video.

- HM38134
by:

This connector is much more robust than standard flat pigtails. I particularly like the sheathed cable rather than the exposed flat four-wire.

- HM38134
by:

Well made unit that makes it easier to connect and remove from tow vehicle. Lead is 48" long but would be better if a little longer, maybe 60 or 72" to facilitate connection to tow vehicles with extended hitches or trailers with long tongues. Would be fantastic if the monitor/test lights were included on connector.

Works and was shipped quickly!

Customer service is excellent. They arranged shipping to Hawaii and I received my wire harness quickly.

Love the finger loop. Next time I need to replace my trailer light plug this will be my choice.

Great product, hope it last a long time, the old wires were getting a bit worn out. I really like the loop to make it easier to unplug without putting too much strain on the connector.

  • What Size Wire Gauge Do 4 Pole Connectors Use
The Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Connector # HM38134 you referenced has 18 gauge wires for the brown (taillight), green (right turn and brake), and yellow (left turn and brake) wires. The white (ground) is a 16 gauge wire. Typically 18 or 16 gauge wire is sufficient to run trailer lights, especially when you use LEDs since they draw much less power than incandescent bulbs. For similar trailer connector that has all 16 gauge wire the Wesbar 4-Pole Flat Connector...

  • Can 5-Way Connector on Shorelandr Boat Trailer be Converted to 4-Way Connector
You definitely can convert the 5-Way connector on your Shorelandr boat trailer to a 4-Way flat connector. To do this you'll just need to cut off the 5-Way connector and splice on a 4-Way. For that I recommend the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness # HM38134 which has the following wiring configuration: White: ground wire Yellow: left turn/brake light Green: right turn/brake light Brown: tail lights It is worth noting that you can actually just plug a 5-Way into the 4-Way on a...

  • Can the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness Be Installed On Trailer With Two Brown Wires (Wishbone)
The Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness part # HM38134 can indeed be installed on a trailer with a wishbone wiring harness. In order to do this you would simply combine the like circuits together, therefore you would combine the two brown wires for the running light circuit as well as the two white wires for the ground circuit as well if present. The only thing you'd really need is some butt connectors, part # DW05744-10.

  • Connecting Trailer Harness to Trailer Wiring with Different Colors
It sounds like the new 4-way trailer connector uses standard trailer wire coloring, like part # HM38134: green for right turn and brake, yellow for right turn and brake, brown for running light, and the white wire gets grounded to the trailer frame. That's the easy part. The hard part is finding what the trailer's colors are. Unfortunately, there's no definite way to do this other than getting a 12 volt battery, grounding the ground wire (probably the white) to the battery's negative...

  • Solution for 4-Way Round Connector on Trailer to 4-Way Flat Connector on 2016 Honda Pilot
I do have a solution for you but unfortunately there are no adapters for a round 4-Way connector on your trailer to the Curt T-Connector # C56291 on your 2016 Honda Pilot. Instead what you will need to do is swap out the 4-Way round connector on your trailer for a 4-Way flat connector. I recommend cutting the connector off and splicing the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness # HM38134 on your trailer wiring so that you get a connector on your trailer that is compatible with your vehicle....

  • Trouble With Trailer Lights Flashing Off and On When 4-Way Connected
It sounds like the problem is in the wiring on the 4-flat connection of the trailer. I recommend the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness # HM38134 to replace the 4-way plug on your trailer. I'm guessing that there many be a connection issue at the 4-way or the ground wire inside the harness broke and this is what is causing your lights to flash. That is the last point and explains why your lights all work when you ran a dedicated ground wire to the battery. You can confirm that it is...

You could technically use a junction box like part # 3375601101 for a 4-Way connection, like part # HM38134, but since junction boxes are designed for 7-Way connections you'll need to find a way to plug up the larger hole since you're only going to be running 4 wires through it instead of all 7.
