Secure Connections Every Time: 12-10 Gauge Ring Terminals

When dealing with electrical work, especially where wires need fastening, it’s critical to have reliable connectors. These Ring Terminals are perfect for 12-10 gauge wires, ensuring a solid connection every single time. They feature a 3/16-inch ring ID, providing a snug fit onto stud sizes up to 3/16 inches. Whether you're connecting vehicle lighting or trailer circuits, these terminals offer the reliability you need without a hitch.

Reliable Performance with Vinyl Insulation: Yellow Sleeves for Easy Identification

Vinyl insulation sleeves in vibrant yellow not only make these ring terminals easy to identify, but they also provide crucial protection against environmental stressors. This feature is particularly useful when working with multiple wiring and needing a quick visual indicator to ensure correct connections. Plus, the vinyl insulation supports durability and longevity, promising performance that stands the test of time.

Quick and Efficient Wiring: Perfect for LED Conversion and Repair

Specifically designed to stabilize electrical connections, these ring terminals simplify the process of wiring conversions or repairs, especially in LED lighting setups on vehicles and trailers. By facilitating a seamless path for electrical currents, these terminals aid in preventing intermittent lighting issues—a must for anyone upgrading from standard to LED lighting.

Keep Your Signals Clear: Solving Common Ground Issues

A common problem in vehicle lighting systems is grounding issues, which can lead to dimming or flickering lights. Utilizing these ring terminals to create separate and direct grounding points can drastically improve electrical signal reliability, ensuring that every component receives optimal power without interruption.

Versatile Application Enhancer: Essential in Trailer Wiring Projects

For projects needing precise electrical connections under various conditions, these ring terminals prove their worth. They're especially useful for those reconfiguring trailer wiring, offering secure and stable connections. Whether for setting up side marker lights or creating a new power circuit, these terminals provide versatile support in numerous electrical setups.

Durability You Can Count On: Strong and Lasting Materials

Each of these ring terminals is built with durable materials to withstand harsh conditions, ensuring the integrity of your electrical connections over time. Video Transcript for Checking Out the Ring Terminal

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this 3/16 inch yellow ring terminal for a 12 to 10 gauge size wire. Now, this ring terminal is used for all types of electrical work where wires need fastening to a stud. Usually connects to the end of a bare wire to give a better electrical connection to apply to when you install this onto the stud. Now, this part here is designed to attach a 12 or 10 gauge size wire to a stud size of 3/16 of an inch diameter. Basically, the bare wire is what is inserted into the sleeve of the terminal, and then it's secured by crimping down on it to hold it into place.

Now, these rigged terminals are color coded using the vinyl insulation sleeve. You can see this one is a yellow color, which means it fits 12 gauge to 10 gauge size wires. They're also available in other colors, they offer a blue color, which lets you know it fits a 16 to 14 gauge size wire, and then a red color sleeve will let you know it fits a 22 to 18 gauge size wires. Basically, the higher the wire gauge number, the smaller the size of the wire. But that should do it for the review on this 3/16 inch yellow ring terminal for the 12 to 10 gauge size wire.

Ordered several things to hook up trailer brake controller on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Everything was promptly shipped and at a fair price.
Will use etrailer.com again, if I have the need.

by:

The manufacturer of my trailer screwed the grounding wire for the trailer into the tongue of the trailer using a self-tapping screw. That lasted about two months before the wire snapped free. Instead of having that happen again, I used this product by crimping the grounding wire to the but end and then I placed the cotter pin from the trailer coupler through the loop and the wire from that pin makes constant contact with the loop, allowing grounding. Worked like a charm and there's no tension on the grounding wire anymore.

by:

Replaced trailer wiring over a year ago and lights still work great. No issues with these connectors. Used them in new junction box.

by:

Works as advertised.

connectors and breakers to hook up my brake controller arrived in order, installed easily, and lasted 1 year so far...

  • Electric Brake Compatibility on a Boat Trailer
Electric brakes on a boat trailer are able to be used without much issue at all. There obviously is an issue with water and electricity, so it is recommended to disconnect the trailer connection when your trailer is being submerged for launch. A few seconds after pulling out of the water, you can connect your wiring without any issues and have the functioning braking system that is easier to maintain. Many boat trailers are moving to electric systems. I do recommend using dielectric...

  • Adapter and Re-Wiring Kit for Lance Truck Camper with Round Pin 7-Way Plug
A junction box/7-way plug kit like Epicord # 277-000141 or # HS381-9000 lets you convert the camper to match the 7-way RV blade type connector format. This avoids the extra connection points and potential trouble spots from using separate adapters. These items use different wire colors so be sure to follow the wiring guide for the specific kit you select. The existing wires on the camper will need ring terminals like # 44-5310A (for 12 and 10 gauge wires) and # DW05702-1 (for 16 and 14...

  • Recommended 7-Way Wiring for 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
For your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, if you have the factory wiring, then all you need is the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket, Chrysler/Dodge OEM Plug Adapter # HM40975-11933. If you do not have the factory wiring, then you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118727 to get a 4-way connector. Then you will need to use # ETBC7 to upgrade that 4-way to a 7-way. You will also need a brake controller for full 7-way function....

Check fuse location # 84, and make sure that there's a fuse installed there. If the fuse is missing or blown, you can obtain a replacement from your local auto parts store.

  • Rewiring Boat Trailer for 7-Way to Use LED Lights
There are a number of things you will need if you want to re-wire your boat trailer to use LED lights and you should start with Junction Box # 3375601100 and 7-Way # HM20041. Keep in mind you will also need Ring Terminals # 44-5310A and Loom Clamps # A0500 For LED lights I highly recommend checking out the LED Trailer Tail Light # STL57RB (Driver's side) and # STL56RB (Passenger's side). • Adding a Battery on an Enclosed Trailer to Power Interior Lights
The best way to power the interior lights in your trailer is with its own independent battery. You will not want to use the breakaway battery. The breakaway battery is only designed to operate the breakaway and will drain extremely quickly, they're only required by law to operate your brakes for 15 minutes. There's a few ways you can install a battery onto the trailer. One is to connect it to the 12 volt pin on the trailer's 7-way in place of the breakaway battery that is currently...

In order to replace this you could use pretty much any 30 amp circuit breaker like at a local automotive store but I recommend the Circuit Breaker part # PK54230PL because it has an auto-reset feature as the name states will automatically reset once the short is fixed. Yes, you certainly can use the 12V auxiliary power circuit on your 7-way wiring setup to power trailer lights. If you refer to the linked photo of a vehicle 7-way connector you will note that the 12V power circuit is carried on the contact at the 1:00 position as you look at the 7-way socket. This is noted by the yellow arrow. An easy way to access this 12V power circuit is to tap into it by using a junction box like # HS381-9000. While it does require cutting the 7-way wiring it will give you an easy way to install the brake controller plus gives you the benefits of having a junction box. They told me that you have the brake mounting flange mounted on your axle so what you will want to do is add a new hub and drum, the brakes, and wiring for your trailer, and you should be good to go.
