Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Wiring Connector

  • Upgrades trucks from a factory 4-way to a 7-way connector
    • Designed to provide a 7-way connector at the bumper (replaces the 4-way)
    • 7' lead is long enough to install 7-way connector in truck bed - great for fifth wheels and goosenecks
  • Plugs in directly to standard OEM connector on the frame rail
    • No cutting or splicing to install
  • Fits the following vehicles
    • 1999-01 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks
view of the 7-way connector

Picture of the inside of the 7-way connector.

Note: You will lose the 4-way connector at the bumper when using the 20031 in the truck bed. If you want to have a 7-way connector at the bumper and in the truck bed, run the 20031 to the bumper of the vehicle. Then plug the # 20110 into the 20031 and run it into the truck bed. A 4-pole can also be added to the bumper with part # 118384.

  • Need Duplicate 7-Way Socket in 2001 Ford F-350 for Power Feed for Slide-In Truck Camper
Since you need to have two active 7-way sockets on your truck, one for your towed trailer and one for your slide-in camper, you can use Bargman harness # 54701-003. This will plug in at the rear of the truck at the existing 7-way. Please refer to the linked photo showing the connectors. It will connect inline with the existing 7-way and both will remain active. This will give your trailer and camper power at the same time. The linked video illustrates the installation process.

  • Ford OEM Connector With Bare Trailer Wiring For 2001 F-350 Dually For Custom Install
For your 2001 Ford F-350 Dually, we don't have a bare wire kit with the gray OEM harness. I recommend using the 7-way # 20031 that is confirmed to fit and cutting the CAR adapter off the other end. This will give you the relays and fuses you need to make those wires function correctly as well. For a shorter length you can use # 118243. If you just need a 7 way connector, you can use # PK12-707E and connect the wires. If you need a wiring extension you can use # PK11-934. If you...

  • Fifth Wheel 7-Way Wiring Kit Recommendation for 2000 Ford F-350
We have the Draw Tite 5th wheel 7-way kit part # 20031 which is confirmed as a fit for your 2000 Ford F-350. It has the square connector you mentioned to connect into the vehicle wiring. The harness length is 7 feet though which is normally enough to get the connector up into the bed of the truck. For a similar setup that uses a 10 foot harness we have the part # A10-7010 but this ties into the wiring by wiring into the round connector behind the 7-way at the vehicle bumper.

  • Nothing Working on Left Side of 2001 Ford F-350 After Repairing Torn Wire On Left Trailer Light
It sounds like the crushed or torn wire might have shorted out and blown a fuse or relay on your 2001 Ford F-350. What you can do is to check with the vehicle owners manual for all of the fuses and relays related to the tow package. You can then check those to determine if there is a problem and replace as needed. I am including a link to a video of a gooseneck wiring harness being installed on a 2000 Ford F-250. At the 2:57 mark of the video it will show installation of the fuses and...

  • Fifth Wheel Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 1999 Ford F-250 with Square Connector
Sounds like the product you are looking for is the part # 20031. This is the same fifth wheel trailer wiring style setup but uses the Ford square connector instead of the round style found on newer trucks like with the part # 20110.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for a 2001 Ford F-250 Stake Pocket Truck
If there is no trailer wiring at all at the rear of your 2001 Ford F-350 with a stake bed you are going to have to hardwire in a 4-way and then a 7-way adapter after. If there is a 4-way connector currently or you find the square connector that the part # 20031 attaches to you could go that route as well. For a hardwire 4-way you would need the part # 18252. Now if your trailer does not have brakes all you would need is the part # 37185 as an adapter to convert the 4-way to a 7-way....

  • Troubleshooting 5th Wheel 7-Way Install Where Both 7-Ways Stopped Working
Sounds like you are trying to install gooseneck/fifth wheel trailer wiring in the bed of your truck like the # 20110. Since when you plugged in the 7-way you lost power at both 7-ways that would tell me that your problem is in the connection between the 7-ways at the rear of your vehicle. If the connectors aren't making a good connection then both 7-ways will not function. Try disconnecting the new 7-way and re-connecting it to see if you can make a solid enough connection for it all to work.

  • 7-Way Wiring Recommendation for 1999 Ford F-250 with 7-Way in Bed of Truck
We do have a fifth wheel 7-way kit confirmed as a fit for your 1999 Ford F-250 that uses the square style connectors like what your truck has. For that check out the part # 20031. This could basically be used in reverse and plug in to the wiring of the 7-way in your bed and then have the 7-way added to the rear of your truck. To combine the 4 and 7-way together you'd need the part # HM40975 to replace the 7-way that comes with the # 20031.

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Towing Package for a 2000 Ford F-250
To determine the maximum trailer weight you can tow with your 2000 Ford F-250 you will need to gather both the Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) and the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of your truck. This can all be found on the information tag located inside the driver door jamb. If you subtract the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of your truck from the (GCWR) that will give you the maximum Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) you can safely tow. The maximum towing capacity isted for your truck will vary...

You might want to also look at the Curt Q20 Fifth Wheel Hitch, # C16536, and # C16443-204, which is the same 20K fifth wheel hitch, the same R20 hitch rollers, but it includes the custom installation kit instead of the universal installation kit. If you have the factory 4 way, then you will want the Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Wiring Connector, 7-Way - Ford SD # 20031. For your 7-Way Super Sealed Connector w/7' Cable - Car End # 50-87-007 there isn't an adapter. • Recommended Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for 2000 F-350
I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Outboard Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, Item # RP56005-53. This kit is confirmed to fit the 2000 Ford F-350. It also mounts to existing holes in your truck frame, minimizing the amount of drilling necessary. I'm attaching two links for installation videos on vehicles similar to yours as well as...

If you are looking for 5th wheel trailer wiring that fits your 1999 Ford F-250 and uses a square trailer wiring connector you'd want the Draw Tite part # 20031 which is a confirmed fit. This has the square connector that Ford trucks of your generation would have. The Curt part # C55774 you mentioned also fits but it would tie into the current 7-way by installing inline with it using the round connector found right behind the 7-way at the bumper.

The best option to tow both a gooseneck and 5th-wheel trailer with your 1999 Ford F-350 with 6-3/4 foot bed is to use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W along with the underbed installation kit # BWGNRK1108-5W. To transfer your Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch from your 1994 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup to a 2001 Ford F-250 you will need to simply replace and install new base rails on the F-250. You should be able to re-use your current Reese 5th Wheel Hitch as long as it is compatible with industry-standard, above-bed rails (considering you used a universal kit, this should not be an issue). For this, I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP50082-58. This...
