Hi I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Mitchell and Stealth Ultra, Hybrid Style Windshield Wiper blades on our 2013 Ford Explorer. Replacing your windshield wipers is gonna ensure you have a clear windshield during those rain, icy, and snowy conditions. Couple things I really like about these windshield wiper blades is they're fully covered. Unlike the open style that's gonna prevent ice and snow buildup. They're gonna be aerodynamic, what's that gonna do is that's gonna prevent the lift while we're going down the highway or the blade from coming off of the windshield.
Also, if you notice each cover is gonna be split in two places. What that does is it allows that cover to flex as well as windshield changes shape or as the windshield wiper blade is going across your windshield. When the windshield changes shape that cover's gonna flex to allow natural pressure from one side of the blade to the other. Each blade is gonna have eight points of reticulation to help maximize that downward pressure and help evenly distribute that downward pressure from one side of the blade to the other. The squeegee is gonna have a graphite coating to prevent skipping and chattering in those white rainy conditions. Now that we've gone over some of the features let me show you how to get them installed. We can start by removing our old wiper blade.
It's a good idea to have a piece of cardboard, something like that, and slide it underneath the one that you're changing because this arm is metal. If it slips out of your hand after you take your blade off this, if it smacks your windshield, could potentially break it. On our new blade we're gonna have a little piece like this, we'll just need to pop it off. We're gonna spin it upside down like that and we're just gonna push. Just like that.
We're gonna have a little piece like this, this tab will slide. We're gonna push that tab and we'll slide that out like that. Put our vacuum on the first, slide it up and push that into place. Take our new blade, and we're gonna pop it on like that. Now you're just gonna repeat that same process for the the other one. That's gonna complete our look at and installation on the Mitchell and Stealth Ultra, Hybrid Style Windshield Wiper blades on our 2013 Ford Explorer..
