I've been very happy with my Thule Surf Crossbar Pads. They do not slide at all once secured and do a great job of protecting my Suburban. Another great Thule product from etrailer.com

I called for help buying the right rack, with some specific needs. Plus, we were hoping to get it pretty quickly. They were super helpful. We ended up with a Rhino rack - easy to install and pretty sturdy too. It fits our Thule carrier and a stand up paddle board quite nicely (both at the same time).
