Video Transcript for Review of Malone Watersport Carriers - Bunk Style Kayak and Canoe Cart - MAL22VR

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Malone Traverse TRX Bunk-Style Kayak Cart with the Flat-Free Tires. Now, this bunk-style kayak and canoe cart will help you transport your large boat by yourself. They do use the adjustable padded bunks to accommodate most hull shapes, and the foam padding on the bunks prevent the damage to your hull. What's nice also, these bunk posts can be adjusted horizontally, in or out, anywhere from three inches all the way out to 19 and a half inches wide, and that'll accommodate most kayaks or canoes.

And the way you would adjust it, let me just show you the back here. You can see the adjustment knobs right down here. If you just loosen those up, and now you'll see those posts can slide, as we mentioned, anywhere from three inches wide all the way out to 19 and a half inches wide. So it should fit most kayaks or canoes that are out there. Once you find the spot you need for yours, just go ahead and tighten these knobs back down and it'll hold it in that position.

Same way over here. Now also, besides adjusting horizontally, these posts can also be adjusted up and down vertically. You can see there's two different positions. This one's in the high position right now. Here's the low position.

To move it, all you have to do is pop out this clip. When you take the clip out, drop it down, put the clip back through the hole on there and that'll put it in the lowest position. So what you'll have to do is when put your canoe or kayak up on here, find out what position will work best for you when you're moving this around, and then just put it in the high or low position. Also, if you notice, it does come with the two-piece cam buckle load straps and that'll help secure your boat to the cart. Basically, once you put your kayak or canoe up there, run the strap over it, pull it tight to secure it.

Now the tires on this, these are 10 inch diameter, rubber all-terrain tires. They'll roll easily on nearly any terrain and they'll never go flat. And also a nice feature on this, you can disassemble this cart for easy portability. The wheels release with the push of a button. Pull the pins here and the frame will flatten down by removing those two pins. And just to show you how that works. Just wanted to show you. Let me zoom in on the head here and you'll be able to see there's a button right here. Set this down this way. If you just push that button and then push your wheel, you'll be able to pop that right off just like that. And if we go to the other side, do the same thing, push down on the button, push out on the wheel. Oops. Let's try that again. And then just slide your wheel off just like that. Once you get both wheels off, and what you can do is take your pins and clips here, pull those out, one on this side, one on that side, and it'll allow you to take this post out and this post out, and now you can see, just like that. What I would probably recommend for you to do is put your clips back through there just so you don't lose them. Clip 'em back into place same way on this one. Put it back through there. Okay, and go ahead and clip it into place. And now you can see with it totally flat like this, you could actually probably even store this on your kayak or canoe, put it under a netting to keep it in place, and then when you get to the land, pop it out, put it together, and move your boat around. Zoom back out. The frame on this is a Marine-grade aluminum frame. It has a nice silver anodized finish to resist corrosion. Now, the load capacity on this is gonna be 250 pounds. The weight of it put together is only about six pounds, so it's very lightweight. So I do wanna put it back together and give you a few last measurements here. So again, we'll just slide the wheel back on. Don't even need to push the button down. Basically, you can just slide it right on just like that. And then we'll go ahead and get our post. Let's pop off the clips again. Once we get our pins and clips popped off. Here we go. Go ahead and take our post and we'll just go ahead and slide our post back on there. And again, you'll just line it up with the hole, put your pin right through there, Oops. Gonna get the hole lined up. There it is. And then clip that, and then we'll do the same over here. Go ahead and put it on. Get that pinhole to line up. Oops. And once we get that. There we go. Oops. Go ahead and clip that in place. And there you go. It's all back together, ready to go. Few dimensions on this: Overall width from this side to this size is 29 inches wide. The length on these bunks up here is 24 inches long. And then the height, again, will depend on what height you have this set at. But if you have it in the highest setting like we have it now from the ground to the top here is gonna be about 20 inches tall. If we pull it out and move it down to the lowest setting, ground to the top would be about 16 inches tall. But that should do it for the review on the Malone Traverse TRX Bunk-Style Kayak Cart with the Flat-Free Tires..
