Adapters

The Lockrack SUP carrier lets you transport 1 wide stand-up paddle board on your roof rack crossbars without the need for load straps. The rubber-coated arms can be adjusted to the width of your board and ratchet into place for a secure hold. Once they are set, the arms lock into place and can only be removed with the included keys, ensuring your gear is safe and secure. Because a single person can quickly and easily load a SUP onto the carrier, and since load straps aren't necessary, you'll spend less time loading and unloading your board and more time out on the water.

Quick, Strapless Loading with Ratcheting Arms

loading

Loading a SUP onto the carrier is easy for one person to do. With the inner arms already installed, simply set your board on the carrier's base, making sure it's pressed against the arms. Then just insert the outer arms into the carrier and ratchet them down so they're sitting snuggly against your wide SUP. Once fully locked around your SUP, the ratcheting arms' curved design creates a lateral and downward force, ensuring your board is secure and won't slide around. And because of this design, you don't have to use load straps to secure the board to your roof.

To ensure your SUP isn't damaged during transport, the ratcheting arms are covered with a rubberized sleeve. This rubber-coating flexes against the sides of your gear to protect it from scuffs and scratches, while still providing a secure hold.

loaded

For longer gear and longer trips, we recommend using bow/stern tie-down straps (sold separately). Because the carrier holds your gear in the center, the bow and stern can be subjected to damage caused by high winds. The bow/stern tie-downs provide additional support to help protect against this type of damage.

laying flat

When not transporting your gear, the carrier's arms can be secured flat against your crossbars. In this position, the carrier adds less than 2" of overhead height to your roof rack crossbars. This means you won't have to remove them when pulling into your garage.

Integrated Locking System

unlock

Four locking points secure the ratcheting arms and your gear to the carrier. When you ratchet the arms down, they lock in place and can only be removed with the included keys, giving you peace of mind when you're away from your vehicle and gear. For added convenience, the keys hook onto your key ring.

Easy Installation with Universal Mounting Hardware

adapters

The rack installs quickly and easily with universal mounting clamps. Simply set the rack on top of your crossbars, attach the bottom portion of the clamp, and tighten the clamps down with the included tool.

installing

To install the rack directly into the top channels of your crossbars, attach the T-bolts instead of the mounting clamps. Then just slide the rack into your crossbar's channels and secure it using the included socket wrench. To access the carrier's mounting hardware, simply remove the rubber strip on top of the base.

Video Transcript for Lockrack Wide SUP Stand-Up Paddle Board Carrier Review

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Lock Rack stand up paddle board carrier for wide stand up paddle boards, part number 339LR65SASETA. This Lock Rack stand up paddle board carrier is gonna make it easier to load up your stand up paddle boards, and it's gonna take away the hassle of having the threads, straps through buckles, and tie everything down as this doesn't need any tie downs of any kind once it's installed. This can carry up to one extra wide stand up paddle board, and it grips at it four points, with two arms on each side. It has padding where it makes contact with the whole of your stand up paddle board to prevent scratches or abrasions once it's being installed. Plus it has the easy to use ratcheting arms here. To push into place, and keep it in place so it won't move around.Another nice feature about this is once these arms are pushed into place, you can't remove them without a special key. And it does come with four of these.

It pushes into position, like so, you turn it up to unlock it, and that will release it. Also, these keys have a point up to the top here, so you can put this actually on your key chain for ease of use. This is their arms on both sides and can be removed on both sides, this can be situated to rather the passenger side, or the driver side as needed. Also depending on the length of the bars, you may be able to fit additional accessory on the other side here such as a bike rack. On the top side of our base you'll see this padding system here. This also has a nice grippy material that's gonna help keep your stand dup paddle board from shifting back and forth while you're getting it into place but also, again it's gonna help protect your stand up paddle board from getting any of those scratches or abrasions just like the rubber pads with their arms.Another big feature about this rack is that it's universal mount rack, meaning where do you have channel mounts, like we're using here, if you have square, round, or factory bars that don't have these channel mounts, it does have clamps that you can attach to the base here to wrap it around those roof racks system as well.

So really this can work with multiple style vehicles, whether you have the bars like this, or the factory. Now unfortunately in this situation, we weren't able to open up our rear hatch all the way. However this may vary from vehicle to vehicle. However this does sit high enough for we didn't have to remove our rear antenna on our vehicle. And when you're finish using the rack, you can pull the arms out completely, look for the catch on the bottom side, and these will fold flat to help produce drag when you're traveling.Next I'd like to give you a couple quick measurements. The overall dimensions of this rack when retracted, are gonna be 33 and a half inches long by 10 and 3 sixteenth inches tall, by 5 and 7 eighth inches deep, and when it's in use.

This is a carrying capacity of only one stand up paddle board, and has a weight capacity of 175 pounds, but you always wanna double check with your vehicle to make sure your roof can take those weights. This is made from a light weight aluminum construction and it is gonna be corrosion resistant. When compare this with other products, one that comes up is gonna be the Rhino-Rack stand up paddle board and surf board pads with tie downs, part number RRRWP03. Both these products have a lot of similarities, but we're gonna be focusing in on the differences. One of the biggest difference is gonna be the materials of which they're made. The first of, being Lock Rack having a aluminum construction with the rubber pads that help protect the stand up paddle boards, with the Rhino-Rack only being a foam pad that simply wraps around, or uses hook and loop straps to attach itself to it. That does mean that it is a universal carrier as well as the Lock Rack.

However, with the Lock Rack you can either use channel mounts or the actual clamp ones. With the Rhino-Rack, it's gonna be more of the clamp on side with the hook and loop straps around all roof rack systems that you put it on.The Lock Rack does have a carrying capacity of 175 pounds, but the Rhino-Rack doesn't necessarily have a set carrying capacity. It goes by whatever your roof can take. Now we gone over similar features of the stand up paddle board carrier, let's go and show you how it installs on our vehicle. We have everything laid out that we need to install it, but first you need to determine if you're gonna be using the channel mount, or you're gonna be using the clamp style mounts. In this particular case, we'll stick with the channel mounts, but eventually we will show you how these install as well. We'll start by removing the pads on either side here. Then we'll take our channel mounts and get those ready. We'll start by removing the nut at the top here and putting it underneath to this connection point like so, and loosely putting that back into place. We'll gonna line it up with our channel right here, and push it into place. One up here as well. Now make sure it's even with the base towards the front. Now we'll take our included tightening tool here, tight down these nuts that we loosely reinstalled. When do this into all this, shake in place, gone. Once everything is tightened down, we can take our pads, and put those back in place as well. Line up the hole with the screw that we just tightened down as well. Finally we can install our arm on the driver side here, until that gets the first run, and then we can grab our stand up paddle board and set that in place as well. All right I'm loading up our stand up paddle board, needs to be upside down, the upside facing down, and the fin facing forward. We get it nice and even on the pads. We'll make sure it's even front to back as well. Next we'll take our arms and we're just gonna push them in until they make contact with the whole of our center apparel. Now we'll repeat this process for outer arms, and you push them in until it's nice and tight. We give a couple of pushes, and now it's secure. Now we'll show you how to put this into the channel mount situation. Let's go ahead and show you how the clamps get installed onto your actual base mounts here. First what we'll do is we'll take the mount itself, and the included Allen tool. We'll completely remove the one bolt on this side, doesn't matter which one, and we'll loosen the bolt on this side. Just enough until you can have it open and have it swing out like so.Now you see on one of the particular sides here, you're gonna have this hole. On that side, we're gonna remove the pad underneath, just can peals out completely. Set that down, now we'll take our channel mount, so remove the screw at the end of our channel mount. Remove our plastic spacer here, all the way. We have done screwing because it can be on pretty tight. We come back to our clamp mount here, we'll take this in, put it through to where it says flush. Now we'll take the pad that we removed, and reinstall that and that's just simply pushes this into place like so. Then at the top we'll take that plastic spacer and we'll put it right back in place until it's flush with our clamp. Now we'll put our mount trough the center here, like so. Set it back down, take the initial screw, and put that back on. Make sure it's nice and straight as we tighten it down. Now we can reinstall our pad. Right, now we can set this on our square bars. Sit that down, wrap that around the other side. We'll do the same for our driver side attachment point. Then we can start tightening it up. Once we have it about even with the other bolt that we have in place, we'll start tightening down more even. Now we repeat this process for our other mount. You may have a full lock standard paddle board carrier for wide stand up paddle boards, part number 339LR65SASETA.
