Specs:
Firestone Ride-Rite springs are designed to increase safety and reduce the strain on your vehicle when you are hauling heavy loads or towing a heavy trailer. The springs partner with your existing rear suspension system to help keep your vehicle level, maintain even load distribution and increase stability. Hauling heavy loads or towing a heavy trailer can make the rear of your vehicle sag and the front end rise. This puts more strain on your rear axle and reduces contact between your front tires and the road, causing problems with braking, steering control and traction. By adding air springs to your rear suspension, you can help to level your vehicle and improve braking and handling. The air springs also help to level your headlight beams and reduce wear on your tires.
Adjustable Air Pressure
The air pressure in your Ride-Rite springs can be adjusted manually, side to side, to compensate for off-center loads. A centered load improves the stability of your vehicle by reducing body roll. The air springs will also help to absorb road shock and to soften contact between your axle and frame. This prevents bottoming out, thus improving ride comfort. Route the air line tubing for the springs to your vehicle's bumper to provide easy access to the manual inflation valves.
Air Spring Construction
Firestone's double-convoluted Ride-Rite air springs are designed to give you maximum load support and enhance the performance and ride comfort of your vehicle. The rubber springs provide cushioning between your suspension components and operate at up to 100 psi. The springs have four layers of reinforced rubber to ensure durability and enhance load support. A braided wire girdle creates the double-convoluted shape of each air spring, increasing the burst pressure of the spring. The rubber springs are attached to corrosion-resistant metal end plates with a time-proven, rolled crimp seal that keeps the bags securely anchored.
Air Spring Installation
Each Ride-Rite kit includes custom-fit brackets that connect to your axle and frame. The brackets provide the mounting points for the air springs. Drilling may be required for some applications.

The installation was straightforward but did require drilling holes for the upper bracket. As others have suggested, buy a set of cheap step bits from Harbor freight to make these holes. The process took me roughly 4 hours with someone helping me and I am by no means a skilled mechanic. It was my first time using a jack stand if that tells you anything lol!
Once installed, having air ride is AMAZING for carrying heavy loads and towing. My truck rides like a sports car now even with nearly a ton of weight on the bed!
etrailer is awesome! Fast shipping and best tracking link ever!!Prices are great too!
Installed these on my 2002 toyota tundra trd 4x4.
Should have done it long ago-
Installation was fairly straight forward- i recommend buying a step drill bit to put the holes in the frame- Harbor China has them in a 2 pack for around $15- well worth the money and takes alot of hassle out of drilling through a metal frame rail.
I ordered the air lift basic on board compressor kit- still in the middle of installing it, i need two more tee's to hook the compressor to the air line- also there was not enough real estate in the cab to mount the gauge pod.
I ended up mounting it on the center- lower dash panel. This took some work as the srs air bag pcm is right behind the panel.
I had to trim the existing bracket and elongate the mounting holes to push the srs pcm back far enough so i could mount the gauge without interferance.
Instead of running a fill valve to each bag (kit comes with two) I ran a single one back to the 7 pin connector mount then tee'd into both sides- this way i can fill them both equally at the same time with one valve. Even though i had the on board compressor i wanted a fill valve in case the compressor goes south.
I have a 2001 Tundra TRD 4WD. I bought a slide in camper and the rear end sagged quite a bit, even with helper springs. So I bought the Ride-rite kit. Install was pretty straight forward. I originally had the air fitting at the top of the bag pointed toward the tire, but ended up rotating them to point to the frame rail instead; that way there is no chance of rubbing on the tire. The kit also included a plastic bracket (and zip ties) to mount the shrader valves on your receiver hitch. No drilling required.
On one photo, I show using the 1/2" bracket laid across the top bracket to get the required offset from the frame as per the "Handy Tip" in the instructions. This is definitely the way to go for handling the weight of the truck camper!
I have these airbags on 2 vehicles and will be putting them onto my next one as well
Thank you for upgrading it to express delivery! Received it faster and didn’t pay extra.
The install was not that bad. The bags work really well on my 2002 Tundra. Wish I had installed them years ago.
Good quality. Easy install. Great produ ct
Easy to install and totally changed my truck. It Has over 200k miles and now feels new agian.
If you have common sense and know how to read directions this is pretty straight forward. Don’t overthink the placement of the upper bracket. Key is 1/2” below any part of lower frame. Took 1 and 1/2 hours to install. I used a pack of step bits from harbor freight to install frame tie downs and airbags without any problems. Made a difference in overall ride and support. Time will tell how well this product holds up.
Kit was easy to install fit without problems. Time required about 2hrs with truck on garage floor. Had some problems with fill valves and air chuck when filling but I resolved it quickly.
Only needed about 15psi to raise truck but to level with my tool boxes filled.
Very fast transaction and delivery. great quality product.
It has been one year since I have installed the Firestone Ride-Rites on my 2006 Tundra. I load the truck and pull a boat and trailer that puts the Tundra within 600#'s of its CGVWR. The Ride-Rites keep the truck level and I my situation, greatly improved the steering and ride quality. This is one purchase that has met all of my needs for helping the truck do its job- even better.
Etrailer's service was excellent as usual. As for the Firestone Air Bags, I have no complaints. The instructions were spot on and the install went well. But make sure you have the tools necessary including a sharp drill to drill out the frame holes as needed. I use these airbags to help support the weight of a trailer. It's easy enough to adjust the air for the given load(s). If you have fluctuating weight needs, these are a great solution.
I bought these 1 year ago for my 01 tundra. Easy to read instruction and easy to install. I'm really glad I bought these, truck rides excellent now. I drive the trunk at roughly 50lbs shy of max payload with me in it everyday with ease now.
Extremely helpful. My weight distribution hitch wouldn't quite level my truck, but the Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs do the job quite well. The install wasn't too bad. Took me a few hours.
Fast shipping. Product was exactly as described. Easy installation. I wish there was a install video for Toyota Tundra 2000 -2006 but got it done. I. Bought these to add extra support to the rear while towing my 28ft trailer a great addition to the Eaz Lift weight distribution bars
Very pleased with the product.
An installation caveat: For the placement of the inflation valves (per the instruction example), be aware that the 2003 Tundra Ltd bumper has a plastic cowling that is part of the bumper but separated from the metal part by ~0.25". This plastic requires an ~1.25" opening to reach the valve (attached to the metal) with an air chuck.
An alternative is to reassess the location of the inflation valves before drilling the 5/16" holes.
Great price, on time shipping.
Great job and it came delivered on time thank you and happy new yeat
