Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.
SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.
The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.
The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.
These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).
SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

Total time was less than 15 minutes which included digging the floor jack out, blocking the tires and cleanup. Makes a heck of a difference in keeping the nose of the truck up when towing trailer or hauling 16 golf cart batteries.
EV T - 08/19/2021I've not installed them yet, but I rated four stars for customer service, I did order the blue by mistake and after one call and a speaking to a human quickly the return process was expedited, and the Black sumo springs arrived in just a few days . I expect them to perform well as verified in reviews by others.
Installed easily on my '16 Frontier 2wd, came with great directions! Noticeable reduction in body roll while cornering and less squishy feeling from rear suspension with load. Thanks to CSR Ashley for her help!
First of all I am not a technical person and purchased these solely on the advice provided by etrailer.
I have been towing a 25' travel trailer with a somewhat undersized truck(6 cyl Toyota Tacoma) and was experiencing some excessive 'bounce'. These SumoSprings addressed this issue quite well with no stiffness or effect when not towing. Completely satisfied with my purchase and appreciative of etrailer for the excellent advice.

The product shipped from e trailer as ordered and arrived as promised. Both went on easily for this 71 yr. old, but the metal mounts are heavier than those that came off so had to let out a little more thread than OEM. They lifted the rear of my '17 Tacoma TRD Off-Road about 3/4". The pickup does not 'rock' as much in turns and is a little stiffer over highway bumps. I've not hauled a load yet to give an honest opinion on that function of the springs. No complaints about the product and cudo's to etrailer for their sales and shipping folks.

New truck installation, you don't need to jack the truck up to install. 10 minute job.
I've had these on my Tacoma for a year and they are great. Easy to install, and eliminates the "bottoming out" that I used to get whenever going over bumps, with a truckbed full of bikes or camping gear.
Arrived sooner than expected. etrailer has always been top notch. The sumo springs really seem to be good on my Tacoma, half price of air bags . I have always ran air bags and kept a minimum of 10 psi. These seem to ride about the same as the bags did with 10 psi. Got the black sumo mediums to heavy . Seem great with 400 pound tounge weight. They did lift my truck about half an inch. I have bed topper and about 150 pounds in bed. I would recommend.
I installed the helpers on my Tacoma to help with the load of a car trailer hauling our old pick-up to car shows. They also help to keep the truck level when hauling loads of fire wood. The only issue that I have is that when empty, it gives the truck a stiffer ride.

Put this on a year ago on my 2018 Tacoma luv them I haul a lot of weight plus pull heavy trailers doesn’t sag any more I’d buy them again

Jim - 07/24/2021Product was easy to install it took me about 40 minutes, could be done in less time if you have impact. I have not pulled my trailer yet since I have installed it but it definitely looks like it will take the load of my 14-ft enclosed trailer. I installed them on a 2020 Toyota Tacoma to help with the squat in the rear of truck.
