Timbren Vehicle Suspension - TABSTOFLC1

  • Timbren
  • Bump Stops
  • Front Axle Suspension Enhancement
  • Light Duty

Timbren's Active Off-Road Bumpstops provide off-road enthusiasts with greater control over their vehicle's suspension travel. Using progressive-rate springs means that instead of a hard stop at the end of axle travel, the axle energy will be absorbed when bottoming out, producing smooth, predictable, and quiet axle engagement and disengagement. The progressive rubber springs absorb the harsh jolt at the end of axle travel, giving you a gentle ride the whole time.

Unlike your factory bumpstops, Timbren's bumpstops are constructed of a superior natural rubber compound, ensuring the bumpstops will continue to operate even after a lifetime of off-road abuse. And the steel brackets and disks are lazer cut before they are painted with a durable, long-lasting powder coat finish to ensure protection and long life.

Features:

  • Designed to maximize axle travel

Today we're taking a look at the Timbren active off-road bump stops for the front suspension. Now to ensure or double check that this is a fit for your vehicle, you could use the fit guide at eTrailer.com.These active off road bump stops are designed to really enhance bottoming-out resistance, while delivering smooth engagement and disengagement of the vehicle's axle. It's designed with progressive spring rate, so that's going to absorb additional energy and road shock and return the axle in a more controlled style than the stock OEM bump stops. It's designed to maximize overall axle travel, and enhances your front suspension performance. The spring itself is constructed of a natural rubber compound that is much stronger than the OEM bump stops. It's an easy installation, so you get the spring, you get your hardware, you get this, what we call a roll plate, so that's going to extend the life of the actual spring. Then you get the brackets.

The brackets are made from durable steel, and they do have a nice powder coated finish to keep them safe from rust and corrosion. And then you've got the slots in the brackets, so this is designed to bolt directly to the vehicle frame, using the already existing hardware. And then these bolts right here, go through the spring, up through a washer, and they thread into a nut that's right here on the bracket itself. So installation's easy, it's a no-drill installation. Everything you need's included. Capacity is 2000 pounds.

It's also covered with a satisfaction guaranteed lifetime warranty. And that's going to do it for today's look at the Timbren Active Off-road bump stops for the front suspension.

This product limits travel of the axle when you go over a speed bump or in a dip in the road. They replace the existing snubbers on the frame and extend down to within a half inch of the axle. It was an easy install with the tire removed and the car on jack stands. The replacement bolts go in the existing threaded connections. Start to finish was about 45 mins for me and I am no expert. Once installed the car has a comfortable ride but speed bumps and pot holes have their bounce affect greatly reduced. I think these will improve my trailer towing future. 450555

I had these on my Tacoma and liked the way they worked so much that I got a set for my new to me Tundra. You don't notice anything until you put a load on the truck. Then you feel more stable under load and don't have to worry as much about the leaf springs. The install was done in 15 minutes 718301

Disappointed in this item TABSTOF. They look and feel almost exactly like the factory bump stops, except with a hole drilled in the center. I can't imagine these would make much of any difference in rebound cushioning as there is just not much to them. There is another part which is more appropriate TOFTAC4A, which are larger and would actually have a benefit whether in a standard or lifted suspension. 612558

My 2013 4runner was squatting in the rear when I coupled my 6X12 motorcycle trailer. I was very happy to have found the Timbren bump stop to simply bolt on and fix the problem. However.....during the installation I noticed I had to use ALL of the adjustment slot on the unit to TRY to center on the rear axle. I oriented the units as far towards the rear as the adjustment would allow. When I coupled my trailer to the 4runner it correctly forced the Timbren bump stop to contact the axle and this is where the problem is. The Timbren bump stop CAN NOT be adjusted far enough towards the rear to accomplish a centering on the axle. There is a 25% overhang of the bump stop on the axle front. When I communicated with Timbren about this they said" it's a good installation and it's ok". It is not ok. Imagine that all of the force of a fully loaded truck will be negotiating curves, potholes, swoops and other hazards of the road at highway speeds. All of this stress is distributed on 75% of the product. It can't work as well as if it was 100% distribution. I felt the product was overpriced to begin with. After paying a premium price I expected a custom proper fit. I can't recommend this product for Toyota 4runner owners. 480449

These are very easy to install on the Xterra. They definitely soften the blow when hitting a bump that compresses the rear suspension at speed. There is a bit of rebound with them that I wasn't expecting. Nothing terrible, just noticeable. These could be a temporary fix for the notoriously weak stock leaf springs on the Xterra, but are probably not a long term solution for that issue. I think, when combined with new leaf springs, that these are a nice upgrade to a vehicle that sees off road use from time to time. 629091

I had no problems with the installation. It only took about 15 minutes to put these on! There is adjustment space on the brackets to let u be able to center product over rear axles. The pictures below show the product installed while my 4 runner is both raised up for installation and after lowering it down. When lowered down and jack removed I have about an inch clearance. 820765

These were a breeze to install with rear of my Frontier Pro4X on ramps. they fit perfectly, and are a drastic improvement over the rock hard rubber factory bump stops. 809334

These bumpstops are excellent! they look better in person than they do in the picture. Because I have a 2" spacer lift on my Frontier Pro4X, I needed to Timbren 1/2" spacers & longer 2" bolts. I tested these under full flex and they work perfectly. 809330

Review from a similar Active Off-Road Bumpstops in Vehicle Suspension

I have a medium-duty truck and recently purchased a camp trailer. Well, when I pulled the trailer home for the first time the back of the truck was weighed down. I installed the new Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops and they improved the load capacity immensely. When I get the cash saved up I plan on purchasing the Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops for the front. Worth every penny. 762708
