Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

2007 Toyota Tundra

Put these in my 2007 Tundra. I could tell a great difference just rounding corners with stability with out a trailer on. I like my trucks to ride like trucks and this for sure helped with that. Also when I hooked up my enclosed car trailer loaded there was a huge difference in the amount of squat it had versus before I put them on. 597026

I've had these for 1 year now for my 2016 Tundra and they are exactly what I needed!!! I couldn't be happier! Prior to purchasing and installing these, when I towed my 2 horses with my 2 horse slant bumper pull trailer, I was concerned about cargo weight in the bed of my truck so I was limited to gear I could bring camping and hunting season with my truck. Since adding these I can pull the horses and load my truck bed to the max including horse feed, hunting gear, coolers with food you name it and my truck doesn't even squat a bit! The ride is great with a load or without and my performance off road is still fine too! These proved to be a great solution to my needs and frankly better than pricey air bags. 673850

Comments
Were glad to hear that youre pleased with your purchase. Please keep in mind that the Sumo Springs product will not increase the capacity of your rear truck axle. The tongue weight of the trailer plus the weight of the cargo carried should not exceed the trucks rear axle capacity.

2010 Toyota Tundra

2010 Tundra 1. These springs are truly for heavy duty application, even when towing the 6000 lb. trailer, the ride is rough; every pothole and bump is felt like it's hitting the frame. 2. Easy application 3. Super Springs, direct customer service, awesome! Exchanged them for the lighter duty after conversing with rep. he recommended the blue 40 series light duty given the weight of the trailer and using a distribution hitch. 4. Way more economical with regards to price direct from Super Springs and will exchange them should you need to. Super Springs great; trailer not so much. 529706

2009 Tacoma Offroad TRD DCSB Needed to correct squatting under load, and when towing small travel trailer. Install was easy and straight forward. Stock U-bolt nuts use 19 mm deep well sockets for removal and replacement. Sumo spring required jacking up the frame a couple of inches to allow install above leaf springs. Torque nuts to 90 ft-lbs. Need to re-torque after 500 miles. Highly recommend. 680497

Helper springs work as described and do help reduce bottoming out, sway, rocking back & forth wile maintaining close to a factory ride level with a 1100 lb load. But I was hopeing the springs would reduce the bounciness after going over a dip more than than do. 699567

It was very easy to install. So far, I haven’t driven my truck because they were delivered yesterday and I installed them last night after work. The installation took about 45 minutes including reading the instructions. After I removed the jack, I noticed the bed was sitting a bit higher. I will be hauling my dump trailer with a full load to the dump tomorrow so I guess we’ll see if it makes a difference. I’m sure it will! 798959

After I’ve installed a Decked system and an ARE cap I felt my truck saggy, driving on a pronounced curve I didn’t even feel safe... I have installed the Sumosprings this morning and It’s amazing, I feel my truck now like It doesn’t carry any load at all, I feel the driving like before added the load. Great product. Thanks. 768282

I did put them on and yes it was fairly simple to put on. I did not have to jack the bed up to put the spring on the base plate. There is some gap between the spring and the frame. They did not mention that this is normal for some vehicles. I am awaiting the use of them before I say much of anything else. 661864

2015 Nissan Frontier

Received these SumoSprings next day because of an upcoming moving trip. Took 15 minutes to install on a 2012 Nissan Frontier. Without the springs there was significant rear end sag when towing my fully loaded 7x12 enclosed trailer.Truck sits level and the ride is great now that the SumoSprings are installed. There is a little bit of lift at the rear end when not towing, but the ride is not at all what I would consider stiff. The SumoSprings matieral is more pliable than expected and there is plenty of cushion for a smooth ride. I highly recommend this product. This model is rated for 2800 pounds at 50% compression...I have not used the other SumoSprings with lower weight ratings, but I would not mess around with anything less. Great ride and all the support you could ask for. 512162

Review from a similar SumoSprings Solo in Vehicle Suspension

Front & Rear Sumo Springs Just installed the Sumo Springs I ordered and oh WOW!!!!! That is the finishing touches to my suspension on my 32 ft Class C on an E450 chassis and love the results. Bought our coach a year ago and installed Hellwig sway bars ( front & Rear ) Bilstien shocks and Safe T Plus Steering control and that made a huge difference to drivability but then decided to add Sumo Springs, Oh My Goodness with all that I’ve done our coach drive down the highways and byways rock solid. The sumos weren’t to difficult to install considering this ole man has had 3 back surgeries and 2 bad knees but we got it done and I was blown away on the test drive. I highly recommend the Sumo products. 641292

Comments
Still love the Sumos, they do their job. Class C is so much more a pleasure t drive even in wind and large semi trucks passing by, barely a wiggle. I would highly recommend these on any motorhome

Pulling my camper is no longer a “ white knuckle “ experience. These are a no brained if you have a 12 ton pickup and carry heavier loads.

Review from a similar SumoSprings Solo in Vehicle Suspension

This product does what it says it will do. One of the issues that I have is the difficulty to install this product. The 2020 Ram 1500 on the passengers side has a stabilizing bar that interferes installing all the nuts on the rear of the mounting plate spring. My truck supposedly has a 1 inch lift from the factory (Big Horn North Edition). I used the plastic extension as recommended in the installation instructions and even with the 1 inch factory lift, using the plastic spacer makes the spring rest on the rear axle with no load in the truck. I'd recommend to not install with the plastic spacer. The ride is much stiffer but I'm OK with that as when my trailer is attached the ride is as expected. 764466

  • Will SumoSprings Fix Rear Sag On 2020 Toyota Tundra Without Sacrificing Ride Quality
The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-610-54 are a great option to fix the rear sag on the 2020 Toyota Tundra. The air bags in the future are also a good idea because they are adjustable however, the SumoSprings are progressive so they compress and decompress depending on the weight of the load. Rear sag is normally caused when the factory suspension is compressed under a heavy load, the SumoSprings will compress up to 80% to support the heavier load and get the rear...

  • 2018 Toyota Tundra SumoSpring Recommendation for Towing 5th Wheel Trailer
For your 2018 Toyota Tundra SR5 4x4 I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-610-54 to give you the load leveling you desire. The SumoSprings have more of a progressive load support than the Timbren springs. Timbren has a great quality spring, but they are more of a firm support so sometimes they offer a harsh or more rigid ride when not under load when you hit a big bump or pot hole. The SumoSprings are more transitional but still give you great load...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancements for a 2007 Toyota Tundra
It is not by any means uncommon for a truck to sag a bit while towing a trailer. The amount of sag will have to do with both the condition of the suspension components in addition to the tongue weight of the trailer. Since you already have an Equal-i-zer weight distribution system, I would first make sure the spring bars are appropriately rated for the total tongue weight (TTW) of the truck/trailer. The TTW is the loaded ready to tow tongue weight of the trailer by any cargo behind the...

SumoSprings will do a good job at helping to keep your 2017 Toyota Tundra level when your trailer is empty, but since it will weigh more than half of the weight of your Tundra when fully loaded we recommend going with a Weight Distribution (WD) system. A WD system will distribute the Tongue Weight (TW) of the trailer to all of the axles included in the equation - both on your Tundra and your trailer. This results in a level ride, better handling, and in most cases some sway control. In...
