Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

Video Transcript for SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs Review

Speaker 1: Today, we'll be taking a look at the SumoSprings Solo Line of Custom Helper Springs for the rear axle. You'll want to use eTrailer's fit guide to determine the correct kit for your vehicle. This is what our SumoSprings look like when installed. Yours may look a little different depending on your vehicle. They're gonna replace our factory jounce stops and sit right between our frame and our rear axle. So whenever we're carrying a heavy load, they're gonna give us that extra support that we need. The way our SumoSprings are gonna work is when our suspension starts to sag from the heavy load, these are gonna absorb a lot of that weight. They are gonna work independently from each other so it's gonna help with those off-center loads.

Our springs are gonna have a progressive rate to 'em. So if we have a light load, they're gonna compress softly, still giving us that comfortable ride. But the heavier load we put on 'em, the more they're gonna compress and the more firmness they're gonna have to them. Now comparing to our factory jounce stop, you can see there's a big difference in height. These are gonna give us a lot more compression, whereas our factory jounce stops are really just preventing the axle from hitting the frame. We have a water tank at the bed of our truck as a heavy load or to simulate the tongue weight of a heavy trailer or a fifth wheel. So as I take the truck through my test course, I can definitely tell that there's a load back there.

The engine doesn't seem to be strained that much, but the bumps are extremely harsh and I can definitely feel it resonating through the seat. When I come to the slalom course and I'm going through the turns, it definitely has a lot of body roll and I just generally feel like I need to slow down because it feels likes it's leaning a lot and it's not responding quickly enough to the turns. Now that we have our SumoSprings installed and I have the same load back there, when I'm driving through our course, I can immediately tell a difference. It's much of a smoother ride. Going over the bumps really doesn't feel like anything's back there and it's just a lot more comfortable. When I come into the slalom course, it definitely feels a lot more stable and it doesn't seem to sway as much side to side and it just generally feels like it wants to go faster. These are made of a durable micro cellular urethane that works in temperatures from -25 degrees to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and resists damage caused by oils, road salts and UV rays. Compared to air bags, these are maintenance free option with no tubes to run or air pressure to maintain. Both will help level your load and provide a smoother ride.

Airbags can be adjusted to suit your needs whereas the SumoSprings are a fixed option. That completes our look at the SumoSprings Solo Line of Custom Helper Springs for the rear axle.

Excellent product, the install instructions to me where confusing. I am an experienced suspension person. End of the day I installed for best fit and was satisfied. Price was right and ride was great after install. Have not had time to experience with tow but am not concerned. 572220

My work truck (2015 Chevy Silverado 1500) is regularly loaded with 800 to 900 pounds of tools. Before installing the Sumospring the ride was kind of mushy. Now there is a nice spring to the ride, it feels like an empty truck. Installation was easy except that the 10 mm washers provided did not fit. A quick trip to the hardware store was the remedy. 499147

Received excellent advice from Darren at etrailer. Based on my specific needs he recommended a low maintenance solution and less costly. Had only one installation question when product arrived. A different etrailer rep could only advise a 24 hour turn a round time to respond. Called the manufacturer to get the questioned answered to complete the install. For a 2017 Chev Silverado there is no need for the washers or the spacers for install. They will update their install instructions for newer model trucks. Would have rated a 5 if install question was addressed. Thanks Darren for your recommendation about this product. It is more preferable than a air lift system. No more sag when towing an occasional trailer. 519682

2006 Chevrolet Silverado

I installed these sumo springs on the rear of my 2006 Chevy Silverado. The installation took approximately one hour and a half from start to finish. I pulled my travel trailer having a Tongue weight of approximately 392 pounds with a 492 pound Honda scooter strapped in the bed of the truck which still did not exceed the weight rating of the truck. The bounce the truck had prior to installation was eliminated completely. I highly recommend the sumo springs for anyone needing a more stable ride with a load (sumo springs make direct contact and provide stability) or without a load ( sumo springs ride approximately 1/4 of an inch above rear end bump plate). I have had experience with air bag suspensions and they are fine too; but, with sumo springs you can, “set it and forget it” because you have no air lines to worry about air leaks and uneven load distribution due to a lack of air on either side. Thanks etrailer once again!!!! 640336

Product was delivered and was a breeze to install! A friend happened to be around when I got started and we had them both installed in less than 20 minutes with the help of a car lift available to us. Didn't quite raise the bed of the truck as far as I hoped it would, but still a great product! Guess that's just the Baja Edition? But did find out I might need different shocks so that will be my next step soon. 508762

The installation was relatively easy and straight forward. I’ve not yet attempted to hook up to my 5th wheel to see if it’s going to reduce the sag I was seeing that moved me to try this product. So this review is really about the install. 620456

My order arrived 4 days early, WOW. I did use 2 flat blade screw drivers to remove the old bumpers. When I installed the new Sumo Springs I put a little liquid soap on the top edges, this helped pop them in. I also used a piece of 2X4 to help push them in, and quickly released the floor jack and this seated them in fully. Quick install took about 20 min. I have less than 1" at the bottom. Unloaded ride is same as before. With my trailer attached (1200 LBS hitch weight) the short test drive I felt much better control and less bounce. Very happy with product and etrailer. THANK YOU! 517005

I put these on my 2017 2 door jeep wranger. I have factory springs no lift. I put on aftermarket front bumper with wench, rear bumper, roof rack. With all the other gear in the jeep, frig, and all camping gear, and plans on putting on a rooftop tent. The ride was a harsh because off all the extra weight, so i thought i would give it a try. I first got air bags for the rear and they worked great, improving the ride, but now the front was still harsh. So i thought i would try the sumosprings. All i can say about the sumosprings is that there awesome. I can now go over bumps on dirt roads, paved roads, train tracks, and it dosnt beat the crap out of me. Jeep feels like its happy. 518093

Without a doubt - excellent product. With research you will find that the Ford E450 rubber bump stops are installed using metric while the Sumo product goes on with standard. The passenger side rear had a bracket attached holding brake lines so using a washer was out of the question. Overall they went on easily and when tested made turning so much more comfortable. Top used to sway so much, now WOW! I should have done this when I first bought the rig. Thanks Sumo and etrailer! 605554

Put these in my 2007 Tundra. I could tell a great difference just rounding corners with stability with out a trailer on. I like my trucks to ride like trucks and this for sure helped with that. Also when I hooked up my enclosed car trailer loaded there was a huge difference in the amount of squat it had versus before I put them on. 597026

2011, F53, 22,000 lbs chassis. After having adjusted tire pressure, installing new shocks and a rear trac bar, these are the icing on the cake. I installed the front Sumo’s and was so impressed I immediately purchased the rears. The side-to-side sway is almost completely gone, my motorhome tracks so much better now, and it actually soaks up a lot more of the little bumps. I’m really happy with the Sumo Springs and Etrailer. 225878

100% stock 2017 Tundra SR 4WD V8. Bought these to provide a bit more stability when towing 27' 8600 GVW tag along camper usually running around 8000lb actual weight. Weight distributing hitch w/ sway control. Wasn't horrible before but wanted suspension stiffened up some. Easy to install if you have a torque wrench and the most basic of hand tools. Did exactly what I wanted it to do. 467194

Great service arrived in 3 days. Installed the Sumo springs last weekend. It was about a 15 minute job on a P32 chassis. I used the supplied spacers and it raised the rear end about 1/2 inch and really reduced the body roll. They replaced the stock rear jounce bumpers which were shot. This is what should have come on the motorhome from the factory. 151532

It was interesting to note the height of the OEM versus these springs - these are much longer. I installed these front springs and the rear springs together and they significantly reduced the roll in my class B rv. I was able to install these myself and, at least for me, it was a lot easier using a second person to hold the spring in place below while I installed the retaining nut above. I used the appropriate jack and jack stands. 591696

Great product ! Does all it claims and more than i expected. I leave my 5th wheel hitch mounted yr. round and haul bins of sand when I plow in the winter, so it's helping all the time. I can see and feel a difference in hauling our 30 ftr. Doesn't change the ride at all like just about anything else you'd need to do to get the help these give you. Easy install too! 347625

Still goin strong. I’ve had numerous campers even a Tundra owner inquire about what I’ve done to level my truck for the load. It totally out does more springs! When and if they fatigue, I’ll buy em again.

Installed the black sumo only 2 wekks ago.Should have done that right after reception last year. Reduce sway totally when i leave my yard(3 inches bump). Don,t need stabilizator, floor is very solid and stable. On the road test for only 10 miles, there is a much better stability. I already have yellow sumo on front suspension where suspension was weak and direction instable.those problems have disapeared. Very satisfied client. 07 view sprinter 2006 579304

Shipped fast. Easy to install. Work seamlessly. I put these on a 2018 F150 HDPP. I wanted to retain the factory ride quality when empty and have more support when loaded near my GVWR. With the 1" spacer, they nearly touched the axle (1/8" space) and make the ride very firm. So I removed the 1" spacer and the ride quality was indistinguishable from stock on all but the largest bumps. These Sumosprings engage so smoothly that you can't feel the initial contact, it feels like the springs just get progressively stiffer at a rate that is faster than the stock springs alone. Note, I slightly rerouted a cable because I thought it might contact the Sumospring and wanted more clearance for piece of mind. I don't know if this is necessary on the f150 or not, but it I know others that have done this as well. This adds a little time to the install. But still under an hour including finding misplaced tools. 520312

I got the typical on time delivery from etrailer and the product arrived and appears as displayed on their webpage. I installed these on a Jayco Melbourne 24L motor home (2018 Mercedes 3500 Sprinter) with no problems. One small error in the manufacturers instruction sheet suggests using a 10mm socket to remove the stock bumpers prior to installing these. It is actually a 13mm you need. I bought these as part of a plan to reduce sway in this motor home. I figure these are part of an overall plan incorporating them with at least two other products. I have also installed a beefier rear sway bar and am considering one other piece to improve handling. These by themselves help but do not solve the whole performance improvement I am seeking. 577165

The product was easy to install. The Tools needed list needs to be updated. Removing bolt is 13mm. Installing new bolts are 15mm. Also the nuts that are tack welded inside the frame will break loose if any rust or debris are on the threads. Back up wrench is near impossible if to fit if the size is not known. End up cutting the old bolt because of this. That’s not your products fault. That’s Fords issue. With the 1” spacers provided it raise my F150 4 1/2”. Stiffened the ride up. Ready to haul my 5th wheel. NICE 452641

I purchased the Sumo springs (rear) for my 2008 Dodge 2500 after they were highly recommended by the RV dealership where I purchased my Palamino truck camper. Not only did they ride really well on my 200 mile trip from Waco Tx to San Antonio but there is no rear end sag . My truck has a leveling kit in the front. I am a believer in these Sumo springs and would recommend them highly. 517946

08 Winnebago View on an 07 Sprinter chassis. To reduce the side-to-side rocking that is inherent in this tall, narrow, heavy vehicle, I decided to try the Sumo SSR-335-47's on the rear bumpstops. Using the vehicle bottle jack, I raised the rear tires almost off the ground, one side at at time, to provide enough room to fit the Sumos into place. The old bumpstops simply pop out with force from a couple of screwdrivers, and the Sumos simply slide into the existing brackets. The fit is precise and snug. I put soapy water on the brackets and applied a bit of force to wedge the Sumos into place. It's that simple. The difference is pronounced, with significantly less rocking over minor road undulations. I'm impressed with this product, and wish I'd done this simple modification long ago. 156528

Re levels the poor Tacoma leaf springs. But definitely stiffens the ride on the off-road Bilstein shocks. If you carry a reasonable amount of weighted recovery gear at all times like I do, these are worth adding to your suspension. I installed them in 20 minutes. 561552

Review from a similar SuperSprings SumoSprings Solo in Vehicle Suspension

Have a 2014 Allegro that would pitch left and right when I would go in and out of driveways. The curtains would slam and bang like they were going to break something. On freeway interchanges that had high banking lt would lean so bad that you have to slow down. The Sumo Springs eliminated 80% of the rock & roll and took away 90% of the lean. Super easy to install. With the Sumo Springs and the Roadmaster Steering stabilizer it's like driving a totally different coach. No more rocking, no more white knuckle driving. Do it. It's worth every penny. 353538

Review from a similar SuperSprings SumoSprings Solo in Vehicle Suspension

Installed these on my 2012 Ford F-350 King Ranch 6.7 Improved the ride, even when empty. Reduced the harshness, the sharp jarring felt when hitting even small bumps, and pot holes ! Haven't tried it with my Montana Mountaineer 5th wheel camper yet, looking forward to that. 323354

Review from a similar SuperSprings SumoSprings Solo in Vehicle Suspension

I had these replaced on my 2016 Tundra SR5 4WD CREWMAX that I tow a 28 ft travel trailer. I had my local mechanic install, hour later, done. Test drove it on country road, WOW. It drove like a sports car. The rear end took the bumps and dips no problem. The new stop basically takes up all the clearance between the frame and the axle. The response of the new urethane stop is progressive; no load, slight interaction and the more up/down action of the truck, the more the reaction. Tundra owners know that the rear leaf spring suspension is soft, car like. I am gearing up for a cross country trip w/trailer this October. I'll update this review later. I chose etrailer over the online big box store, same price, free shipping, delivered a few days later. 561547

  • How to Help a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 with Rear End Sag
  • In order to help keep the rear end of your 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 from sagging while towing or hauling your four wheeler I recommend using the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-209-40. This spring will replace the factory jounce spring that you have on your truck and provide you with a cushion between the frame and rear axle that will help to alleviate some of the rear end sag you have while towing or hauling. The best option about this system is that it will not affect ride...

  • Best Way to Reduce Body Roll on a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500
  • The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TGMRCK15S and the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs Kit part # SSR-209-40 are both great options to help reduce the body roll you are experiencing while loaded. Neither of these suspension enhancements will affect the ride of your vehicle while unloaded for the exception of the occasional bump or pothole. While loaded the Timbren springs will give you the most support and the SumoSprings will give you the most comfortable ride. For...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement for a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 with Magnetic Ride Control
  • I do have a few options for your 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 to reduce sag and maintain ride quality but your choices will be limited due to the magnetic ride control your truck is equipped with. Since airbags will not work well for your application, I recommend taking a look at either the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer part # SSA28 or the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-209-40. The SuperSprings will have a bit more load leveling capabilities than the SumoSprings...

  • Should there be a Gap Between Axle and SumoSprings on 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500
  • It isn't uncommon to have some space between the SuperSprings # SSR-209-40 and the strike plate they make contact with when under load. Many of the installations shown in the instructions, linked for reference, also show a gap. You can close that gap a little by using the urethane spacers that came with the kit.

  • SumoSpring Rear Axle Recommendation for 2017 Silverado 1500
  • For your truck setup and trailer tongue weight of 700-lbs or less I would go with the 1000-lb Super Springs kit, part # SSR-209-40, which is the one you referenced in your question. These will engage with enough resistance to give you load support for leveling the rear without making the ride quality too harsh. An install video and written instructions are linked for you.

  • Comparing the Timbrens and SumoSprings for a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500
  • I have two options for you to help with squatting while towing with your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. These two options are the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TGMRCK15S and the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-209-40. The main difference between the two is that the Timbrens are made of a much more dense rubber so they will provide more support but the adverse effect of this is that they could also decrease the loaded ride quality. The SumoSprings...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement For 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 With 4 Wheel Drive
  • You are correct in looking at jounce springs to assist in your suspension. A great option I recommend for your 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 4WD, is the Super Springs SumoSprings Custom Helper Spring Kit, # SSR-209-40. This jounce springs will support the extra load to avoid sagging and give a slightly smoother ride than other jounce spring options for your vehicle. These springs expand and compress vertically with minimal expansion to the sides. They adjust progressively according to your cargo,...

  • How To Level A Trailer Load On A 2014 Chevrolet Silverado While Using A 5th Wheel Trailer
  • I have a great option that will help level the rear of your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado while towing without affecting the ride quality. For this, you will want to use a set of jounce springs. I recommend using the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs Kit part # SSR-209-40. The SumoSprings are a great way to level the load on a vehicle without compromising quality as they are made of a light duty polyurethane that is designed to support the added weight of the load over the rear axle while...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler and Helper Springs for 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 z71 & 5th Wheel
  • Although it is not an absolute requirement to upgrade either your suspension or your transmission cooling to tow an 8,000 lb 5th wheel with your 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 z71 with 5.3L, I do recommend you consider doing both. The 1500 is not a heavy duty truck so any suspension help you can give to help keep the truck level will increase your driving experience, and any additional cooling to your transmission can only help to prolong the life of your truck. I recommend the Derale...

  • Can Offset Bracket of SumoSprings # SSR-209-40 Face Inside Instead of Rear on 2018 Silverado 1500
  • You definitely can orient the offset brackets of the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-209-40 so that they fit better on your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. It will not cause any stress on your frame. I confirmed this with my contact at Super Springs.

  • Recommended Air Helper Springs for 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71
  • The air helper springs I strongly recommend for your 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 are the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-209-40 because they offer your truck the best combination of ride enhancement and durability. The SumoSprings will compress while under a load but do so progressively and independently on each side. What this means is that you will not only continue to have a centered load but your truck won't immediately have a bumpy ride with a lighter load because...

  • Ride Height of the Sumo Springs Solo Custom Helper Springs
  • By design, the Sumo Springs Solo Custom Helper Springs, part # SSR-209-40, don't normally affect your ride height. However, there are some applications where there will be contact with the springs just because of the distance from the frame to the suspension. In these cases, there will be a little bit of rear ride height added. That being said, there's always significant improvement to rear ride height when loaded enough to engage the springs, as the springs get more solid as you add...

  • Recommendation for Leveling 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 When Towing Travel Trailer
  • The only SumoSprings we offer that are confirmed to fit your truck are the Super Springs SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs Kit # SSR-209-40, that you referenced. These jounce-style suspension enhancement springs are designed to help level your truck while also preventing sag and working to reduce bottoming out. The best solution I recommend to keep your truck level while towing is a weight distribution system. A weight distribution system will help distribute the trailer's tongue weight...

  • Is Unloaded Ride Affected When Using SumoSprings on 2009 GMC Sierra 1500
  • The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-209-40 will not affect the ride much on your 20098 GMC Sierra 1500 when you are not towing or it is not under a load. It will create a bit of a stiffer ride so while you will likely notice it some, the springs are still a good option for occasional towing.

  • Helper Springs and Weight Distribution for a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 and KZ Sportsman 241 RLLE
  • I did some checking and the SumoSprings # SSR-209-40 do indeed fit the 4x4 models of the 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500. These will be a great option to supplement your weight distribution system and they will not be as stiff as other similar products like you said. If your tongue weight is over the capacity of the system then that is also part of the sagging problem you are having. For 700 to 800 pounds of tongue weight plus the weight of anything carried in the truck bed behind the rear...

  • SumoSpring Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2011 Chevy Silverado
  • For a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a 3,200 lb boat and trailer I'd go with the SumoSprings part # SSR-209-40 as it provides an additional 1,000 lbs of suspension support. I attached an install video for this as well. You might think that the higher the spring capacity the better but if you go too high you end up with a very rough ride.

  • Weight Distribution System Set-up and Tow Vehicle Height
  • Thanks for the photo and thorough explanation of what is happening with your Husky Centerline # HT32218. Since your truck and trailer are sitting within 1-2 inches of level you are good as long as you are comfortable driving. It sounds like you like having the tongue weight a little heavier for steering and that is fine. The tow vehicle having a 1/4 rise in the front isn't too bad and you won't lose much visually from the different angle of your head lights. Because you are so close...

  • Solution for Leveling 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 when Towing Small Toy Hauler/Camper
  • Actually the best solution I can provide for you is a weight distribution system. A WD system not only levels the suspension like a suspension kit but since it does so by redistributing some of the tongue weight up to the front axle you end up with improved braking and handling. For towing situations like yours this is hands down the best solution we can provide. For your setup that has 350 lbs of tongue weight the Reese Straitline system part # RP66082 would be the best choice as it...

  • Will installation Of SumoSprings On 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Increase The Truck Height
  • When the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs Kit, part # SSR-209-40 is installed on your 2007 Silverado, it does not provide any lift for your truck. There should be a small gap between 1/2 and 1-1/2 inches from the bottom of the SumoSpring to the axle. When a load is placed in the back of your truck it will make the bed lower and the springs will provide extra support and help make the ride smoother.

  • Will the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Fit a Lowered 2001 Chevy Silverado
  • The overall height of the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TGMRCK25S is 7-1/4" with the included spacer installed or 6-1/4" without the included spacer installed. If the 6-1/4" is too tall for your lowered 2001 Chevrolet Silverado you can use the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-209-40 for 1500 or part # SSR-211-54 for 2500/3500 models. If you take a bread knife, you can trim these down to fit the space you need them to.

  • What Does Decreased Ride Quality When Using the Timbren Enhancement System Really Mean
  • When towing a heavy trailer with your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the rear suspension will most likely drop due to the added weight placed on the vehicle. This added weight is going to cause issues such as improper headlight aim, poor braking, and an overall decreased sense of handling. Therefore, suspension enhancements like the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TGMRCK15S are needed. The Timbrens work by placing a dense piece of rubber spring between the frame and...

  • SumoSpring Helper Springs for a 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4
  • For the SumoSprings # SSR-209-40 for your 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 the springs will reach their 1,000 pound capacity at 50 percent compression. That means that there could still be some squat until the spring compress enough to stop it. But at the same time you are using weight distribution which will also work to prevent sag. So when all is said and done the 1,000 springs should do the trick.

  • Can a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.8L V8 2wd Tow a 3,500 lb Travel Trailer
  • Assuming your towing capacity is 4,700 lbs, you can safely tow a 3,500 lb trailer. In fact, 2wd trucks typically have a higher towing capacity than 4wd trucks and long bed trucks, or trucks with longer wheel bases, hold up better to towing issues such as trailer sway and traction control. I checked the owners manual for your truck and it only discusses the towing capacity for the 6.0L engines, but according to Trailer Life Magazine's towing guides, your truck should have a 4,700 lb...

If you're towing a trailer and want to counteract rear end squat caused by the tongue weight of a trailer being applied to the hitch, a weight distribution system would be a more effective choice. To choose a weight distribution system, you'll need to first determine the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer. To that figure, add the weight of any...
