Front Suspension Support

A heavy front load can cause front-end sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the front axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your rear axle, your rear tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.


Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.


Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy front load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your rear tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.


The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.


Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

Speaker 1: Today, we'll be taking a look at the SumoSprings Solo Line of Custom Helper Springs for the rear axle. You'll want to use eTrailer's fit guide to determine the correct kit for your vehicle. This is what our SumoSprings look like when installed. Yours may look a little different depending on your vehicle.They're gonna replace our factory jounce stops and sit right between our frame and our rear axle. So whenever we're carrying a heavy load, they're gonna give us that extra support that we need. The way our SumoSprings are gonna work is when our suspension starts to sag from the heavy load, these are gonna absorb a lot of that weight.They are gonna work independently from each other so it's gonna help with those off-center loads.

Our springs are gonna have a progressive rate to 'em. So if we have a light load, they're gonna compress softly, still giving us that comfortable ride. But the heavier load we put on 'em, the more they're gonna compress and the more firmness they're gonna have to them.Now comparing to our factory jounce stop, you can see there's a big difference in height. These are gonna give us a lot more compression, whereas our factory jounce stops are really just preventing the axle from hitting the frame.We have a water tank at the bed of our truck as a heavy load or to simulate the tongue weight of a heavy trailer or a fifth wheel. So as I take the truck through my test course, I can definitely tell that there's a load back there.

The engine doesn't seem to be strained that much, but the bumps are extremely harsh and I can definitely feel it resonating through the seat.When I come to the slalom course and I'm going through the turns, it definitely has a lot of body roll and I just generally feel like I need to slow down because it feels likes it's leaning a lot and it's not responding quickly enough to the turns.Now that we have our SumoSprings installed and I have the same load back there, when I'm driving through our course, I can immediately tell a difference. It's much of a smoother ride. Going over the bumps really doesn't feel like anything's back there and it's just a lot more comfortable.When I come into the slalom course, it definitely feels a lot more stable and it doesn't seem to sway as much side to side and it just generally feels like it wants to go faster.These are made of a durable micro cellular urethane that works in temperatures from -25 degrees to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and resists damage caused by oils, road salts and UV rays. Compared to air bags, these are maintenance free option with no tubes to run or air pressure to maintain. Both will help level your load and provide a smoother ride.

Without a doubt - excellent product. With research you will find that the Ford E450 rubber bump stops are installed using metric while the Sumo product goes on with standard. The passenger side rear had a bracket attached holding brake lines so using a washer was out of the question. Overall they went on easily and when tested made turning so much more comfortable. Top used to sway so much, now WOW! I should have done this when I first bought the rig. Thanks Sumo and etrailer! 605554

It was interesting to note the height of the OEM versus these springs - these are much longer. I installed these front springs and the rear springs together and they significantly reduced the roll in my class B rv. I was able to install these myself and, at least for me, it was a lot easier using a second person to hold the spring in place below while I installed the retaining nut above. I used the appropriate jack and jack stands. 591696

I got the typical on time delivery from etrailer and the product arrived and appears as displayed on their webpage. I installed these on a Jayco Melbourne 24L motor home (2018 Mercedes 3500 Sprinter) with no problems. One small error in the manufacturers instruction sheet suggests using a 10mm socket to remove the stock bumpers prior to installing these. It is actually a 13mm you need. I bought these as part of a plan to reduce sway in this motor home. I figure these are part of an overall plan incorporating them with at least two other products. I have also installed a beefier rear sway bar and am considering one other piece to improve handling. These by themselves help but do not solve the whole performance improvement I am seeking. 577165

This was a very easy install. It took less than an hour. I installed them on a 2018 Forest River Forester which is on an E450 chassis. My rig is equipped with Firestone airbags in the back so I only needed the Sumos in the front. I’m looking forward seeing how they improve the handling of my RV. 2019 Thor Outlaw 29J I've only driven this RV for about 1800 miles. I don't know if I could rate these any higher. I ordered both the front and rear Sumosprings and the fronts arrived earlier than the rear, so I went ahead and installed them and went for a 100 mile test drive. Installed these on a 2017 Mercedes 2500 Sprinter/2018 Roadtrek SS Agile. I already have these on the rear where they work great reducing sway and bounce, wanted the same handling in the front.. I found it much easier to remove the wheel to access the nut holding the bump stop in place and to place the Sumo Spring in position. Overall an easy install. 658576

Great product. Very easy to install. I installed Sumo springs front and rear on my class C Sprinter-based RV (Winnebago View) as part of a suspension upgrade to improve handling in cross winds. The other suspension upgrades included a Hellwig rear sway bar and Bilstein rear shocks. The handling improvement was dramatic. My order arrived 4 days early, WOW. I did use 2 flat blade screw drivers to remove the old bumpers. When I installed the new Sumo Springs I put a little liquid soap on the top edges, this helped pop them in. I also used a piece of 2X4 to help push them in, and quickly released the floor jack and this seated them in fully. Quick install took about 20 min. I have less than 1" at the bottom. Unloaded ride is same as before. With my trailer attached (1200 LBS hitch weight) the short test drive I felt much better control and less bounce. Very happy with product and etrailer. I put these on my 2017 2 door jeep wranger. I have factory springs no lift. I put on aftermarket front bumper with wench, rear bumper, roof rack. With all the other gear in the jeep, frig, and all camping gear, and plans on putting on a rooftop tent. The ride was a harsh because off all the extra weight, so i thought i would give it a try. I first got air bags for the rear and they worked great, improving the ride, but now the front was still harsh. So i thought i would try the sumosprings. All i can say about the sumosprings is that there awesome. I can now go over bumps on dirt roads, paved roads, train tracks, and it dosnt beat the crap out of me. Jeep feels like its happy. 518093

2011, F53, 22,000 lbs chassis. After having adjusted tire pressure, installing new shocks and a rear trac bar, these are the icing on the cake. I used the supplied spacers and it raised the rear end about 1/2 inch and really reduced the body roll. They replaced the stock rear jounce bumpers which were shot. Don,t need stabilizator,floor is very solid and stable. On the road test for only 10 miles, there is a much better stability. The product was easy to install. The Tools needed list needs to be updated. Removing bolt is 13mm. Installing new bolts are 15mm. Also the nuts that are tack welded inside the frame will break loose if any rust or debris are on the threads. Back up wrench is near impossible if to fit if the size is not known. End up cutting the old bolt because of this. That’s not your products fault. That’s Fords issue. With the 1” spacers provided it raise my F150 4 1/2”. Stiffened the ride up. Ready to haul my 5th wheel. NICE 452641

Shipped fast. Easy to install. Work seamlessly. I put these on a 2018 F150 HDPP. I wanted to retain the factory ride quality when empty and have more support when loaded near my GVWR. With the 1" spacer, they nearly touched the axle (1/8" space) and make the ride very firm. So I removed the 1" spacer and the ride quality was indistinguishable from stock on all but the largest bumps. These Sumosprings engage so smoothly that you can't feel the initial contact, it feels like the springs just get progressively stiffer at a rate that is faster than the stock springs alone. Note, I slightly rerouted a cable because I thought it might contact the Sumospring and wanted more clearance for piece of mind. I don't know if this is necessary on the f150 or not, but it I know others that have done this as well. This adds a little time to the install. But still under an hour including finding misplaced tools. 520312

I purchased the Sumo springs (rear) for my 2008 Dodge 2500 after they were highly recommended by the RV dealership where I purchased my Palamino truck camper. Not only did they ride really well on my 200 mile trip from Waco Tx to San Antonio but there is no rear end sag . My truck has a leveling kit in the front. I am a believer in these Sumo springs and would recommend them highly. 517946

Re levels the poor Tacoma leaf springs. But definitely stiffens the ride on the off-road Bilstein shocks. If you carry a reasonable amount of weighted recovery gear at all times like I do, these are worth adding to your suspension. I installed them in 20 minutes. 561552

I installed these (front and back sets) a year ago and they still work very well. I pull a fifth wheel and these help keep the truck level and the ride comfortable. They were one of the best things I have added to my Super Duty. 352792

Installed these on my 2012 Ford F-350 King Ranch 6.7 Improved the ride, even when empty. Reduced the harshness, the sharp jarring felt when hitting even small bumps, and pot holes ! Haven't tried it with my Montana Mountaineer 5th wheel camper yet, looking forward to that. 323354

08 Winnebago View on an 07 Sprinter chassis. To reduce the side-to-side rocking that is inherent in this tall, narrow, heavy vehicle, I decided to try the Sumo SSR-335-47's on the rear bumpstops. Using the vehicle bottle jack, I raised the rear tires almost off the ground, one side at at time, to provide enough room to fit the Sumos into place. The old bumpstops simply pop out with force from a couple of screwdrivers, and the Sumos simply slide into the existing brackets. The fit is precise and snug. I put soapy water on the brackets and applied a bit of force to wedge the Sumos into place. It's that simple. The difference is pronounced, with significantly less rocking over minor road undulations. I'm impressed with this product, and wish I'd done this simple modification long ago. 156528
