Front Suspension Support

A heavy front load can cause front-end sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the front axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your rear axle, your rear tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy front load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your rear tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

Great product. Very easy to install. I installed Sumo springs front and rear on my class C Sprinter-based RV (Winnebago View) as part of a suspension upgrade to improve handling in cross winds. The other suspension upgrades included a Hellwig rear sway bar and Bilstein rear shocks. The handling improvement was dramatic. No more sway when being passed by semi’s and much, much better handling in cross winds. I am very happy with the Sumo springs. 656765

2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

I got the typical on time delivery from etrailer and the product arrived and appears as displayed on their webpage. I installed these on a Jayco Melbourne 24L motor home (2018 Mercedes 3500 Sprinter) with no problems. One small error in the manufacturers instruction sheet suggests using a 10mm socket to remove the stock bumpers prior to installing these. It is actually a 13mm you need. I bought these as part of a plan to reduce sway in this motor home. I figure these are part of an overall plan incorporating them with at least two other products. I have also installed a beefier rear sway bar and am considering one other piece to improve handling. These by themselves help but do not solve the whole performance improvement I am seeking. 577165

2017 Ram 2500

Installed these on a 2017 Mercedes 2500 Sprinter/2018 Roadtrek SS Agile. I already have these on the rear where they work great reducing sway and bounce, wanted the same handling in the front.. I found it much easier to remove the wheel to access the nut holding the bump stop in place and to place the Sumo Spring in position. Overall an easy install. 658576

2017 Fleetwood Jamboree Motorhome

Without a doubt - excellent product. With research you will find that the Ford E450 rubber bump stops are installed using metric while the Sumo product goes on with standard. The passenger side rear had a bracket attached holding brake lines so using a washer was out of the question. Overall they went on easily and when tested made turning so much more comfortable. Top used to sway so much, now WOW! I should have done this when I first bought the rig. Thanks Sumo and etrailer! 605554

It was interesting to note the height of the OEM versus these springs - these are much longer. I installed these front springs and the rear springs together and they significantly reduced the roll in my class B rv. I was able to install these myself and, at least for me, it was a lot easier using a second person to hold the spring in place below while I installed the retaining nut above. I used the appropriate jack and jack stands. 591696

This was a very easy install. It took less than an hour. I installed them on a 2018 Forest River Forester which is on an E450 chassis. My rig is equipped with Firestone airbags in the back so I only needed the Sumos in the front. I’m looking forward seeing how they improve the handling of my RV. I haven’t ventured out on the road. 538371

I should have purchased years ago (around 2014) when I installed similar package on my E450. Installed SSF-106-47 on my 2007 GMC 2500HD Classic 2wd, Ext Cab pickup. Mostly my weekend (go to the toy store - Lowes/Home Depot) pickup. This was a DIY install. Easy installation in my driveway with simple tools. Easier when you remove the wheels. Nose dive and cornering lift/swing out virtually eliminated. I'm sure I could create that sensation if I really really wanted to with them installed, but I think it would be difficult. I think the steering is also more responsive. Yes I recommend the purchase/install. 821971

After much research, I decided on these Summo Super Springs for my 2016 Mercedes Sprinter Interstate 3500 RV. They are extremely highly rated by many people and many sources. By adding these units, there will be will additional support for our new electric bikes. Although untested, as yet, due to the "no travel" COVID virus, I am sure that the additional support on the RV frame will provide a better, safer and more comfortable ride. 816240

Could not be easier to install. Removed OEM and installed these in less than 15 minutes. Increased front wheel well clearance and leveled out the front of the motor home. I no longer feel like I am going to slide out of my seat while driving. What a difference these things make to the ride. I don't feel like a porpoise when driving over rough roads. After a couple of bumps the ride smooths out. They also reduce the side to side sway when cornering or when a large semi rolls by. Well worth the money. 809732

I put these on the front of my 2011 Thor fourwinds majestic 19g. I'm a 52 year old woman, and it was easy for me. Just jack up the front (one side at a time) with a 12lb. bottle jack, remove the OEM bump stop with a 10mm deep socket (or whatever size they tell you in the directions) and screw the sumospring in where the old one came out. Super easy. (my husband is always impressed when I do this kinda stuff...better than paying somebody...) Drove the same day around town, and out on the highway in very high winds. Still got pushed around a bit...did I say high winds....super high winds. The sumosprings did great! Would recommend. My rig came with firestone airbags in the rear. I don't have a sway bar in the rear, and I have the original sway bar in the front. Shocks are original, and no track bars. I'm not going to make anymore improvements for a while, I think this addition will do it. 800843

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

2017 Winnebago View 24G Sprinter Chassis: The Sumo Springs have definitely improved the ride quality. The suspension has way less tendencies to bottom out when hitting bumps, pot holes and a much smoother ride on uneven pavement. Note: If you install these springs on your front suspension have the front end aligned right away. I noticed uneven tire ware after only 3 thousand miles. 770504

2016 Ford E-Series Cutaway

I was able to remove the old stops and replace with these summon springs. Real easy replacement. After finishing the front end was raised by 3/4 inch. That's a good thing. I tool the Vegas for a test drive. It was a 15-20 mph windy day. I could tell there was a much firmer feel to the way it had handled. I have also upgraded front and rear sway bars and steering sway control. Safe-T-steer. 766277

I had these on a previous sprinter Rv and they greatly improved the handling. I installed the front and rear Sumo Springs on my present sprinter RV and they we to with no problem. Watching the installation video was very useful. Especially the tip about spraying the rear set with silicone on removal of the old bumpers and installation of the new sumos. I haven’t had time to road test the unit after the installation but I am sure they will be an improvement. 721936

Love the product fairly easy to install. Took just about two hours for all four Sumosprings. The front was a bit more challenging and I’ve seen somewhere else about using a plastic bag that you can cut up and inserted in the 13 mm deep socket, this will keep the nut in place while threading. Your videos are very helpful and strongly suggest that you create a how too for the front replacement 717168

Easy one person install! Key is a 13mm deep socket. I used the provided jack of my 2015 Winnebago View to lift the front wheel of the ground (also used additional jackstands for safety). I was able to reach over the tire from the outside to remove existing bump stop and install the SumoSprings. The ride improvement (when coupled with the rear SumoSpring rear helpers) is incredible! No more extreme sway/roll when transitioning across uneven surfaces! Best is the almost total elimination of swaying when passed by tractor trailer rigs on the interstate! Highly recommend this modification especially for Class C rigs. 713776

Felt the difference on the first right turn out of my sub witch goes down hill and tilts right. Better control stops the sway sooner thinking of putting the sumos on the rear, but worried it will make the ride to stiff on the road , I all ready have heavy road master sway bar on rear love the control and it lifts my front 3/4s of inch higher 711275

  • Recommended Sumo Spring Helper Springs for 2014 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 31K on the Ford E450 Chassis
For your 2014 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 31K on the Ford E450 chassis, I'd recommend the 1000 lb capacity # SSF-106-47 for the fronts and # SSR-106-47-1 for the rear. Both these recommendations are on the heavier duty side of the spectrum, but your 31K is pretty large and you'll need a higher capacity option to absorb bumps and help reduce body roll. The springs are manufactured right here in the USA, and will remain flexible in whatever temperatures you find yourself in. The urethane construction...

  • SumoSprings for a 2019 Thor Quantum KM24 Motorhome
The correct SumoSprings for your 2019 Thor Quantum KM24 motorhome (on the Sprinter chassis) are the following: Front 500 lb - # SSF-106-40 1,000 lb - # SSF-106-47 Rear 900 lb - # SSR-338-47 1,400 lb - # SSR-338-54 I recommend going with the 1K and 1.4K kits because they will give you more support and I've never heard of someone complaining that SumoSprings have made their ride harsh so you don't have to worry about them being rated too high. I would like to mention one...

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2018 Forest River Forester Motorhome E-450
Adjustable suspension enhancement would be your best option. This will give you the ability to add the exact amount of additional support you'd need to prevent bottoming out while also not making the suspension overly stiff. So for that you'd want the Firestone Ride Rite kit part # F2458 which is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Forest River class C 32 ft. on a Ford E-450 chassis. For a compressor kit to make inflating and maintaining the air bags easy we have the Firestone kit part #...

  • Will the Roadmaster Active Suspension # RAS3612 Fit with Timbrens Installed on a 2001 Ford E-150 2WD
If you are wanting to add some additional support to the Timbren System, like part # TFER15087, for your 2001 Ford E-150 2WD then the Roadmaster Active Suspension # RAS3612 is a great option. It won't get in the way of your Timbren system and it doesn't require maintenance like an air bag system would. Should you end up wanting some front suspension enhancement then I recommend the SuperSprings SumoSprings. These have the same concept as the Timbrens but we have heard from customers...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2016 Sprinter 3500
If you don't presently tow, you can use the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TMBRSP35A on your 2016 MB Sprinter 3500 but they may be a little stiff. They will reduce body roll, but they make the ride a little stiff for most people when they are not towing. For a similar support but a softer ride, I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-338-47 instead. In either case, I do recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Front Axle...

  • Should Front or Rear SumoSprings be Added to 2015 Thor Motor Coach First
When improving the ride for your 2015 Thor Motor Coach 24C on a Ford E-350 chassis the best thing to do would be to install all of them. The SumoSprings replace factory bump stops and the sway bar replaces your factory sway bar. If you had to choose just one I recommend installing the rear SumoSprings # SSR-130-54 as they will help with both the sway and the jounce as opposed to just sway with the sway bar. Next I would install the front SumoSprings # SSF-106-47 as it will help with...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2019 Jayco Melbourne on a 2018 Sprinter 3500 Chassis
The correct Roadmaster anti-sway bar for your 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 chassis is part # RM-1209-131. This does require some drilling but it also retains (and enhances) your OEM anti-sway bar. You'd actually be pretty surprised at how much adding even just a thicker anti-sway bar can improve the handling of your motorhome. You are definitely looking in the right place when you mention the SumoSprings to help with enhancing your ride as well. I recommend adding SumoSprings # SSR-338-47...

  • Suspension Enhancements for 2019 Thor Chateau 31Y Class C Motorhome
Thank you for all of the info! According to Roadmaster you need the Front Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-176, the Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-197 (with auto chains) OR # RM-1139-147 (without auto chains), and Steering Stabilizer # RM-RBK24-RSSC. Then for suspension enhancement I recommend the SumoSprings # SSR-106-54-1 for the rear and # SSF-106-47 for the front. The SumoSprings provide more support as more weight is added and the best part about them is that once you install them there...
