950-lb Capacity. Install these helper leaf springs above your vehicle's rear factory leaf springs. They reduce sway and prevent sagging, which is perfect for towing or hauling heavy loads. Designed for OEM springs that sit above the axle.

  • Reinforce your vehicle's rear suspension with extra leaf springs that prevent sagging and reduce sway by up to 30 percent
    • Work like sway bars to stabilize your OEM springs and keep them from twisting
    • Compensate for windy conditions, wind turbulence from big rigs, and weight shifts while cornering
    • Lift your truck when you are carrying a heavy load and prevent bottoming out
  • Adjust automatically to your payload
    • Rollers on each end of the SuperSprings activate when the OEM springs flex under load
    • Rollers deactivate when OEM springs aren't under load
  • Customizable - the shackles attaching the SuperSprings provide several options for installation
    • Choose a setting that increases load support and ride height for constant heavy loads or to compensate for minor spring fatigue in an older automobile
    • Choose a setting that maintains the original factory ride conditions and minimizes effect on unloaded ride quality and height
    • Choose a medium setting that balances support, height and ride comfort
  • Install easily - bolt on above your existing factory springs with no drilling required
    • Because factory springs set above the axle, an additional mounting kit is included for installation
  • Require no maintenance - no tubing or air pressure to monitor or adjust like air springs
  • Save money
    • Extend the life of brakes, tires and the factory suspension
    • Less expensive than air spring systems
  • Made in the USA

SuperSprings diagram of roller and shackle system for extra leaf spring

These additional leaf springs add support and sway control to your existing OEM suspension. Just bolt on SuperSprings over your existing factory springs, and they automatically work when you need them. As the factory spring flexes, a roller at each end of the beefy helper spring reacts to engage the helper spring and to provide extra support. The springs help to better distribute cargo weight throughout your existing suspension, channeling that weight to the points on the frame that are designed to support heavy loads.

SuperSprings leaf spring installed on a Ford vehicle

Placing these leaf springs above your factory springs helps to keep your OEM springs from twisting, so the SuperSprings act like a sway bar, reducing the body roll that makes driving more difficult and dangerous. With these helper springs, driving is safer and easier when it's windy, when your vehicle is rocked by a passing semitruck and when cornering. The springs help to reduce sway by up to 30 percent. SuperSprings also allow more wheel travel in the rear suspension when they are under load, so they maintain traction and ride comfort better than rubber or polyurethane bumpers. That means they're great for drivers who frequently tow.

Truck before SuperSpringsTruck after SuperSprings

You can also customize the level of support provided by SuperSprings. For most models, the shackles that attach the helper leaf springs to your existing leaf springs have several installation options:

  • For greater support and ride height when your suspension is under a constant load or if you have an older automobile with some spring fatigue, install the helper springs using the upper bolt holes
  • To maintain the factory ride and reduce the effect on your ride height, install using the lower bolt holes
  • To balance support, height and ride comfort, install using the upper hole on one end and the lower hole on the other

SuperSprings are a maintenance-free, low-cost alternative to air spring systems, which require constant monitoring and air pressure adjustment. These helper leaf springs respond automatically to the load you carry, so there is no crawling under your truck to adjust them. You'll also reduce wear and tear on your suspension, brakes and tires, which saves you money. The bolt-on installation means that they are easy to fit - no drilling required.

This suspension stabilizer kit is perfect for trucks towing fifth wheels, campers and gooseneck trailers.

SuperSprings diagram of springs set above and below the axle

An additional mounting kit is included for installation with factory springs that set above the axle.

For vehicles with factory leaf springs that set above the axle, this mounting kit ensures that SuperSprings operate silently when the vehicle isn't loaded. When factory springs set below the axle, the axle itself serves as a fulcrum for the helper leaf springs. However, for vehicles that have OEM springs that set above the axle, the 2-inch brackets in the mounting kit act as fulcrum points on the underside of the SuperSprings. Furthermore, the shackles at the ends of the helper springs hold them in place and pivot as the load is transferred to the SuperSprings. Because there is minimal preload tension in the installed SuperSprings, you get a quieter ride.

Video Transcript for SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the SuperSprings lines of custom suspension stabilizer and sway control kits. You'll want to use etrailer's fit guide to determine the correct kit for your vehicle. Here's what our SuperSprings are going to look like once we have them installed. Now these are going to give us the support we need whenever we're hauling a heavy load or towing a heavy trailer. Typically, whenever we're hauling something extremely heavy our suspension wants to flex a lot and our back end sags down. Well these are going to provide us the extra support by activating whenever our suspension flexes, the rollers on the end of our leaf spring are going to activate our helper spring and provide us that extra support.

But also still giving us a nice ride when we're not towing something heavy, because it's going to deactivate those springs and still have a nice comfortable ride. And since they are attached to the front and back of our factory leaf springs, it's also going to act like a sway bar and it's going to prevent our leaf springs from twisting. Giving us a lot more stability when we're driving down the road. The multiple notches in the end here are going to provide us with a little bit of customization, depending on how much support we need. If we need more or if we just have a little bit of spring fatigue in our truck, it'll give us that little bit of lift so whenever we're towing something we don't have quite as much sag.We have a water tank in the bed of our truck as a heavy load or to simulate the tongue weight of a heavy trailer or a fifth wheel. So as I take the truck through my test course, I can definitely tell that there's a load back there.

The engine doesn't seem to be straining that much, but the bumps are extremely harsh and I can definitely feel it resonating through the seat. When I come to the slalom course and I'm going through the turns it definitely has a lot of body roll and I just generally feel like I need to slow down because it feels like it's leaning a lot and it's not responding quickly enough to the turns. The SuperSprings installed and I have the same load back there. When I'm driving through our course I can immediately tell a difference. The bumps aren't as harsh because the truck isn't sagging down as much and there's a little bit more support back there. But really where I tell a big difference is through the slalom course.

It definitely feels way more stable and even taking the turns going in and out, it just feels like it really wants to stick to the ground a lot better and just generally wants to go faster.Compared to airbags, these are a maintenance free option with no tubes to run or air pressure to maintain. Similar to airbags you can customize the level of support provided. Unlike airbags however you do this during the installation and set it one time rather than on the fly adjustability you get with airbags. And that completes our look at the SuperSprings line of custom suspension stabilizer and sway control kits.

Superspring purchase was right on the mark. Gave George J. all the info on my truck, rv and what I was experiencing. He suggested the SSA5MTKT springs that they should take care of my problem. I installed them in 45 minutes, hooked to my rv and made a pull. I was able to pull at 65 and 70 mph with minimal bouncing and rocking. An increase of 1" in loaded ride height and 10-15 mph was perfect. Thanks George J. and the staff at Etrailer.com 229763

Arrived in three days. Took me and the wife 48 minutes to install. Lifted the rear of a 2012 F150 1 3/8". We like the ride better with the upgrade. Loaded with 1500# handles great. Etrailer is always great to order from. 690764

Great item!! The Supersprings performed just as described. No more sag in the suspension and the benefit of better control. Installation was an hour with the help of an experienced mechanic and the right tools. If it wasn't for removing of the bumb stops on the axle, installation would have been faster. Expensive product, but it is a quality product and made in the USA. After install, the springs raised the rear of the truck about 2" to 3" when unloaded. Best part is that the springs didn't cause the truck to ride rough when unloaded. 21988

Product does just what it says it does. Installed them on a Thursday and towed with them that weekend....... and they did a great job. Handled the tongue weight of my dump trailer better. I did notice a decreased amount of "wave" effect when you are in tow and your heavy trailer hits a bump or swale in the road; and transfers that energy to the truck. Sorta feels like you got a heavy tail that someone is tugging on. This was significantly reduced and made for a pleasant ride Later on Sunday then threw a load of firewood (no trailer this time) in the bed full; and in comparison of a previous haul with wood the truck did not sag as much. My truck config is stock, double cab w/ 8' bed 4x4. I did not notice a stiffness in ride with and empty bed or no trailer in tow. Seemed to be just fine. Slightly raised the rear but with the long truck it is hardly noticeable. One part of the installation was a little difficult, when it came time to compress the leaf it was a bit of a chore. I did have a 5" c-clamp but it was getting tough the last few inches to get the roller underneath the stock leafs. If I had a special leaf spring clamp tool as shown on some of the youtube vids I would have been done in about a 1/2 hour but with out this tool it makes the compression part slow. 145702

It a good product for 2017 Ford f150 except 1 factor that it had to mounted more toward the rear and the no bracket to hold it in place if I get a tire rotation or lift the vehicle from the rear the spring roll away and need to clamped while lowering the vehicle. I contacted Super directly to there warranty department and they sent me a lock down kit. It also Lifted the truck about a inch on low setting so I'm sitting at 39 inch in rear. 505177

The kit looks really good but I can’t figure out how to install. Enclosed are two photos showing my van suspension and the parts your sent. The instructions do not show my van with only one spring. Can you advise?????????????? Thanks. 603418

If you look at page 4 of the instructions which Ive linked for you, you can see photos showing a single leaf spring set up just like whats shown in the photos you provided thanks for the photos!. Im guessing that page was not included in your instructions for some reason.

Review from a similar SuperSprings Sway-Control in Vehicle Suspension

After having used partial and full ‘add-a-leaf’ kits on fleet trucks in the past, I was willing to give these a try. Having missed the stiffness of a 2500 rear end and having put 125k on a 1500 with a topper/camper shell, this was the progressive stiffness I was looking for. The vehicle sits 1.5” higher at the rear, isn’t overly stiff, alowing the Bilstein shocks to continue to do their job, properly. Adding the tow behind camper, along with a loaded bed, far less body sway without a compromised ride. I also utilized the SumoShocks (front and rear), for some time and I love them. Having everything together, as a package, works great for me when towing, the bed is loaded down and when I’m traveling 2hrs at a time from place to place, as a highway truck. This will take some serious C clamps (8” from hardware store) and some mechanical aptitude if using a jack and stand(s) in the garage. Overall, not too strenuous or hard. Nothing intimidating. I’d definitely recomend to anyone wanting to help tired leaf springs or when reducing body roll. 557350

The Sumo Springs continue to provide wonderful results. Many friends with 2500 trucks and onlookers at campgrounds are amazed when we tow our 38’ trailer weighing around 8k lbs when loaded, plus the truck bed loaded with wood and bikes, etc, the family and dog in the cab... All with little to no squat! The ride stays consistent to the 2500 feel I like and it allows me to keep my ol’ beater with high miles and a few thousand miles. I definitely recommend the Sumo Springs and their products. Again, having had their products on other vehicles with more than happy results, I don’t foresee ever purchasing a vehicle and not, at the least, including the rear bump stop supports and adding the leaf kit from there.

Review from a similar SuperSprings Sway-Control in Vehicle Suspension

Just installed and I loved how easy it was took 30 min tops. I expected a much stiffer rear end with the bed empty but was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the ride remained. I did notice a more stable and responsive feel while driving. All in all super impressed with the product so far, shipping was fast (ordered Saturday and received Wednesday, in canada) everything I needed was in the kit and it only raised the rear end up about 1/2". 316290

Review from a similar SuperSprings Sway-Control in Vehicle Suspension

Very pleased! There are two settings, but I prefer the heavier capacity setting and higher in the rear feeling. It has made all the difference in the world with my long wheelbase 2002 Chevrolet Astro Van. I really do not feel that it has changed my ride comfort that much, very little, if any. I always have some kind of load on the van, whether hauling cargo in the van, or towing a trailer, that my ride is still as smooth as always. But, the remarkable thing is, that now my rear end isn't sagging to the ground like it always use to be, even without a load! I'm super pleased and would recommend these springs to everyone for the reasons I've shared above. 563128

Review from a similar SuperSprings Sway-Control in Vehicle Suspension

This product is a must if you are looking for a pleasant ride empty, yet still have additional capacity when you need it. I purchased it because I haul a Lance 1062 camper and was not pleased with the air bag setup I had been using. The air bags would handle the load just fine, but I got a lot of side to side motion while going around corners. I even set each air bag up independent of the other. The SSA15 kit eliminated the side to side motion. It really does act like a sway bar. I recommend you remove the rear tires when you install, it will make it much easier. 485410

Review from a similar SuperSprings Sway-Control in Vehicle Suspension

These helper springs worked well. My truck didn't sag nearly as much with similar loads in it than it did before. Probably raised it around 4-5 inches when loaded and about an inch when not. Only complaint is the bolts holding the product to the adapter for a spring over axle setup are not of a high grade. They broke, but I may have overtightened them. I replaced them with some grade 8 bolts from the hardware store. They are only needed to hold the new spring in place when the vehicle is raised off the ground. They don't affect the performance of the product. 247201

There isn't a system similar to this that will work on your truck. • How to Reduce Sway When Tandem Towing 2 Trailers
Tandem towing, towing one trailer with another trailer, is intrinsically more challenging than towing a single trailer. Any sway occurring in the first trailer (the 5th wheel) tends to get transmitted to the second trailer. The two things that can be done to reduce this are to slow down to a speed that stabilizes the tandem setup and to make sure both trailers have sufficient pin weight and tongue weight (TW). Trailers that are light at the tongue (heavy at the rear) tend to sway more,...

Leaf spring kits like the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway-Control Leaf Spring Kit # SSA5MTKT are best suited to supporting cargo loads in the truck bed. The best solution for the issue of rear-end squat is a weight distribution (WD) system. • What Would Cause Trailer Sway That Starts at 55 Miles Per Hour
The kind of sway/bouncing that you described right at 55 miles per hour is due to improper trailer loading nearly every single time. You want to have your tongue weight equal to 10-15 percent of the total trailer weight otherwise you will get sway. What you need to do is move the weight of as much cargo as you can forward in your trailer so that you can get your tongue weight higher. Doing so will get rid of the sway. Since you mentioned you have a weight distribution system and are...

  • Will the SuperSprings Kit SSA5MTKT Fit a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 with Max Tow Package
The Max Tow package of your 2015 GMC Sierra would work just fine with the SuperSprings part # SSA5MTKT. This kit can be used on vehicles with or without overload springs so your truck having the tow package would be totally fine. The Max Tow package is basically a nicer way of saying that your truck has the tow package which means it has the better rear-end gear ratio for towing a few other things.

  • How Will SuperSprings Effect Ride Of 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
The SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer, part # SSA5MTKT, has customizable settings that you set when installing so that it engages the way you want. The settings can be adjusted, depending on what you want the springs to help with. You make the adjustments by using different mounting holes in the shackle. You can adjust them to increase load support and ride height when carrying constant heavy loads, or change the adjustment that allows the vehicle to ride as it did from the factory...

  • Best Suspension Helper Springs for a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 with 2 Inch Block Lift
If the blocks on your 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 lift just the body and not the suspension then you can still use Firestone air bags # F2430. If it is a suspension lift then they would not fit properly. The suspension can still travel but depending on how much air pressure is in the bags it will not travel as much. The more air the less travel. What I recommend if the truck has a suspension lift is to use SuperSprings # SSA8MTKT or # SSA5MTKT (for stock leaf spring stacks above the...

  • Troubleshooting Bouncy Ride Quality with Weight Distribution System on 2014 GMC Sierra 1500
What you described sounds like you have a weight distribution that is rated too high for the tongue weight of your setup. The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight...

  • Which Suspension Enhancement Fits 1998 Dodge Ram with Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose Trailer Hitch Installed
If your 1998 Dodge Ram is a 2500, or 3500 (cab and chassis models only for the 3500), you can use Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs, # F2220, because this kit installs on the inside of the frame rail and will not interfere with the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose, # 9460-39, which installs on the outside of the frame rails. For a 1500, you can use SuperSprings Vehicle Suspension, # SSA5MTKT. I have included a link to the installation details for reference. For a 3500, you can use Timbren...

  • Suspension Products to Correct Minor Rear-End Sag in 2003 GMC Sierra 1500LD Towing 3200-lb Trailer
It is perfectly normal for the rear of a tow vehicle to sag to some degree when hitched to a trailer due to the trailer tongue weight. For this reason it is usually best to have the height of a hitch ball about an inch or so higher than the top of the trailer's coupler (when the trailer is level) to compensate for this normal sag. The SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway-Control Kit # SSA5MTKT that you referenced fits both 2WD and 4WD versions of your truck and will help...

  • Comparing Suspension Stabilizer Kits For 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Towing Enclosed Trailer
Both of the systems you mentioned, part # RAS4611 and part # SSA5MTKT are designed to give you more stability and balance when towing. The biggest difference is the load capacity with the weight capacity of the # RAS4611 at 2,000-lbs versus the capacity of 950-lbs for part # SSA5MTKT. Both require no drilling and are simple installations. Between these two systems I would go with the Roadmaster # RAS4611 system because of the increased capacity. This system would help if you decide...

  • Which SuperSpring Suspension Stabilizer for 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 Towing 7000 lb 5th Wheel
For your 2015 Silverado 1500 4x4, I'd recommend the Super Springs, part # SSA5MTKT. The springs come into play as load (the pin weight of your fifth wheel) is added to the rear suspension. There's also some adjustability available, so you can dial in the amount of support and sway control needed. You'll need to measure the thickness of your existing spring pack to ensure the U-bolts included with the kit will be long enough. Measure the thickness of the leaf spring where it sits directly...

  • SuperSprings Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2007 Ford F-150
For your 2007 Ford F-150, if the trailer when loaded and ready to tow is less than 7,500 pounds, then you would need the SuperSprings, # SSA5MTKT. If the total weight is greater than 7,500 pounds you would need # SSA8MTKT. Either kit will fit depending on the weight of the load you will be towing. I have included links to the installation instructions for both sets along with a video showing a typical installation.

  • SuperSprings Suspension Stabilizer Recommendation for a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500
For as heavy as your trailer is I would go with the heavier duty version of the SuperSprings part # SSA8MTKT over the lighter duty # SSA5MTKT. I would imagine you are pretty close to the towing capacity of your 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 liter so the heavier duty kit would be the one to use. These kits also help greatly with reducing sway the kit I recommended would be a great choice.

  • Super Springs Vehicle Suspension with Installation Kit for 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 4 x 4

  • Suspension Enhancement for Ford F150 2WD with PullRite SuperGlide Rails
Your best option would be to get a SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer part # SSA5MTKT honestly. Those PullRite brackets you have on your trailer frame are pretty huge and would prevent a Firestone Ride-Rite Helper Spring # F2542 from being installed because they both attach to the frame at the same point and would interfere with each other. A guy at my work has a set of the SuperSprings on his vehicle and really likes them. He says they help with sag and greatly reduce body roll...

  • Rear Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2019 Ford F-350 with Camper
An air bag kit will be the best way to give you the additional suspension support you need from your 2019 Ford F-350 with a heavier camper. You'd need part # F2600 for if you have a 2 wheel drive truck or part # F2604 for if you have a 4 wheel drive truck. Air bag kits allow you to add the exact amount of support you need and then when not carrying the weight of the camper you can deflate the bags and have a totally normal ride quality. For a compressor kit then the heavy duty part...

  • Compatibility of SuperSprings Suspension Stabilizer With Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs
I looked up your account to determine that the SuperSprings Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit - OEM Leaf Springs Above Axle # SSA5MTKT is not the style of SuperSprings mounted in the jounce spring location. You can install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2430 with those SuperSprings in place as they don't connect at the same location and will not interfere with each other. The Firestone air springs will help to level out your truck...

In order to decrease the amount of sag that you experience on your 2006 Chevrolet 1500 when towing an equipment trailer with a pintle hitch, I recommend taking a look at the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway-Control Kit. These helper springs install above your rear factory leaf springs to reduce sway and prevent sagging when hauling a heavy load. If your Chevy pickup is the 1500LD, you will need part # SSA8MTKT and for the 1500HD, part # SSA10MTKT. You are correct, a...
