Insert these helper springs in between the individual coil loops in your rear coil springs to defeat driver fatigue and add better support for heavy loads. Most factory coil suspensions have a difficult time hauling added weight. The rear coils may struggle with supporting the extra load placed on your rear axle when you're towing a trailer or using a hitch-mounted cargo carrier or bike rack. If your coil springs are totally squished under a load, the lack of shock absorption can be harsh on your backside, especially if you spend long hours sitting in your vehicle while driving to your campsite.

Coil SumoSpring installed between rungs of coil spring

Inside each helper spring, a core of microcellular polyurethane foam adds cushioning between your coils to make your ride more comfortable. Each doughnut-shaped spring has H-shaped channels at the top and bottom that fit to the rung of an individual coil in your rear coil springs. Included zip-ties also aid in securing the helper springs to your coil springs. The cushioning absorbs shock, but also works progressively to better support weight, keeping your truck level.

Unlike air springs that fit inside your coil springs, these polyurethane springs require no air pressure monitoring, and they are easier to install. Say goodbye to air lines, valves and air tanks and hello to maintenance-free suspension support. Unbumpify your ride with Coil SumoSprings for coil suspensions.

Video Transcript for Review of SuperSprings Vehicle Suspension - Rear Axle Suspension Enhancement - CSS-1094R

Today we're taking a look at the sumo springs custom helper springs for coil spring suspensions. Now these helper springs simply help increase ride comfort and enhance your coil suspension's ability to support loads. It has an inner core of micro-cellular polyurethane foam, which provides cushioning and support. These are progressive springs, so they adjust progressively to the weight of your load. So what that means is the more you load onto the vehicle, the stiffer these springs become. They really help reduce body roll and they help level your vehicle. They also withstand extreme temperatures.

They're a durable spring that's designed to resist damage that's typically caused by abrasions, oil road salts and UV rays. They install easily on the rear suspension coils. They insert between the individual coils of each coil spring. Nice deep indention there to hold in place. It comes with additional zip ties to aid in holding the helper springs in place. So there's these small holes that go through so you can place a zip tie through there, loop it around one of the coils of you're spring, and then secure it in place, again to assist and holding the helper springs in place. These can be installed with or without removing the strut from the vehicle and they can be installed with or without removing the tire and wheel assembly from the vehicle.

But if you are able to remove the tire and wheel assembly from the vehicle you'll definitely have a lot more room to work. One of my favorite features about these is that they're maintenance free. So once you install them, you can forget about them. And with this part number, you get two helper springs, you get a pack of zip ties, and you get detailed installation instructions to help walk you through the whole process step by step.Product's made in the USA. It's designed for the rear coil spring suspension.

It's designed to work with a suspension system that's in good working order. And just keep in mind that the sumo springs will not increase your vehicles weight carrying capacity. So be careful not to exceed the manufacturer's weight limit for your vehicle. That's going to do it for today's look at the sumo springs custom helper springs for coil spring suspensions.

Coil SumoSprings for a 2008 Honda Fit Sport. I ordered the correct springs based on etrailer's website and when it came time to install them, we discovered they were too big. I called etrailer customer service and was fortunate to be connected to Natalie L. Natalie was patient and after a couple of calls, found the springs that work for my vehicle. Natalie updated the website to reflect the accurate part number. Natalie, thank you for making the return process painless. Your customer service was outstanding, Natalie. As an aside, it's difficult finding and keeping good employees. I'd do what I could to keep Natalie. The replacement springs have been installed and working as expected. 612381

Etrailer customer service is always excellent. This product installs easily and quickly and performs as claimed. Provided just enough additional compressive loading resistance in conjunction with the rear struts to prevent bottoming out while towing a lightweight pop up camper. Quick fix for folks hauling something with 100 pounds or less of tongue weight. Tips: 1" overlap worked best on my Subaru. SumoSpring elastomer cut easily and accurately with a band saw. Knife works but the elastomer is slippery and the cut is less than accurate. As you push the zip ties through their holes put an index finger under the hole on the inside and direct the end of the zip tie upwards to make it easy to retrieve. Make zip ties snug but not so tight they distort the geometry of the elastomer. 122065

Continue to be pleased with the SumoSprings on our 2005 Subaru Outback. The alternative was to spend $800 for new heavy duty rear struts. They work well to prevent bottoming out when towing a camper and dont seem to effect the overall ride quality when not towing a trailer.

The instructions, well!! lack a bit of detail. My first instinct was to return them . I called the manufactures tech line ,and got the 10-36 asap. ........ after that the install was a breeze !! I am in the opinion these helper springs will stiffen the rear coil enough to balance a heavier tongue or small trailer weight. 65535

Do these work well towing a 2200 lb work trailer hauling a moderate load with a 03 tahoe

Depending on what a moderate load is, yes they can offset the trailer tongue weight nicely. Let us know what weight you're working with, it will help give us a better picture of your needs. Also, how far down does the Tahoe squat when you hook up the loaded trailer?

Installed on 2006 F 150 to prevent front sag when using front hitch mounted cooler rack for surf fishing. Easy install. Start at bottom of spring where there is more room to work. Loosely install tie wraps then rotate sumo to top of spring between 2 and 3 coil, then tighten tie wraps. Haven't had chance to evaluate performance with cooler rack. 628991

I installed these on a 2014 equinox with a 4-banger. Took me 10 min to install, suv didnt sag as much when my small boat was attached. Ride quality was same as before. I sold the car awhile back and the springs went with. I would recommend to a friend though. My boat weighed 1000lbs total including trailer, dont think your going to be able to pull much more then that. 239659

I installed these on my 2010 Toyota Highlander FWD before starting a year long trip towing a 18ft camper trailer around the western USA. The Highlander did not have any options to “beef up” the rear suspension, so I installed these on the rear springs. They improved the ride and reduced the rear end “squatting”. We are 7 months and 13,000 into the trip and they are still doing great. 618035

The product was easy to install and really helped with the extra load of pulling a trailer and having a packed car. Towed a 6'x 9' trailer from CA to NC with about 2500 lbs of extra weight. When not towing or having an extra load car still rides good. Worth the money. 348033

Not as easy to install as noted in the documentation; Otherwise, they are performing as advertised. I have not lost the ride quality yet I noticed a difference pulling our fully loaded trailer with the Jeep or the bikes. Much better handling. I would have preferred air bags, but these are doing the job. 555912

I installed on a 2014 Ford Expedition EL. I should have done this last year, it made it handle like it was new again both loaded down and when it was just me driving. It also retained the stock ride feeling with no harsh or roughness to speak of. For the folks that have a strut style rear suspension and put any kind if weight in their suv's and/or pull a tralier, this is a must. Also, no mentionable increase in ride height. 403904

  • Recommended Super Springs Rear Coil Helper Springs for 2011 Subaru Outback with 3.6L H6 Engine
The difference between Super Springs Coil Helper Spring kits # CSS-1094 and # CSS-1094R is that the CSS-1094 can be used in either front or rear coil spring applications while the other kit is for rear springs only. For your 2011 Subaru Outback with 3.6L H6 Engine use kit # CSS-1094R on the rear axle. Please note that this item requires some trimming for installation on your vehicle.

Rear suspension enhancement will not increase the tongue weight capacity of a vehicle. They will only reduce the amount of sag in the rear suspension.
