2003 Jeep Liberty - Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs - Rear

  • Made in USA

Specs:

  • Load-leveling capacity: up to 1,000 lbs
    • AirLift 1000 springs will not increase your Jeep Liberty's weight-carrying capacity. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommended weight limit.
  • Adjustable air pressure: 5 psi - 35 psi
  • Lifetime warranty
  • 60-Day satisfaction guarantee

Heavy loads can cause the back of your Jeep Liberty to sag and add unnecessary stress to your suspension. This stress not only affects your brakes in a bad way, but your tires, headlight aim and handling suffer as well. To improve your Jeep Liberty's ability to endure heavy loads, you need to add support to your existing coil springs.

Air Lift's AirLift 1000 adjustable air springs have 1,000 pounds of load-leveling capacity and are made specifically to fit inside your rear coil spring suspension for additional load assistance. You can inflate and deflate these tough, molded polyurethane helper springs as needed, ensuring the perfect amount of support for every load, every time. Easily level your Jeep Liberty front to rear, and if you run dual air lines to the air springs at installation, then you can inflate the springs independently of one another for side-to-side leveling. AirLift 1000 is a breeze to install with standard tools and comes with an easy-to-follow instruction manual.

AirLift 1000 comes with manual inflation valves that are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere on your Jeep Liberty for easy access. For even more convenience and control, you can add a compressor and gauge system (sold separately), which will let you monitor and automatically inflate your air springs.

Air Lift kits are designed to keep your Jeep Liberty at normal ride height. You can find the normal ride height of your Jeep Liberty by unloading it and measuring the distance between the bottom edge of your wheel well and the center of the hub. After you find and record this distance, you can regulate the amount of air that you put into your air springs to maintain normal ride height - even when you are hauling a heavy load. You will need to adjust the air pressure in your air bags according to the size of your load.

Air Lift is positive that you will benefit from their air spring suspension system - so much so that they offer a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Install and use AirLift 1000 springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove them from your Jeep Liberty and return them for a full product refund.

Great product, Great service behind it, I had problem when I received the item when I first received it as one of the air bags was damaged, however all it took was a call to etrailer and problem was resolved right away. They shipped out next day a replacement and have had these on my 2000 Winnebago Adventurer for over a year now and all is great. 572846

Review from a similar Air Lift AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

These airlifts have been terrific. I have them on a 2006 Toyota sienna minivan . If you have one you know how low they ride. I raise and lower the pressure according to the situation. For routine driving I keep the pressure around 10 and will raise it up to 35 if there's a heavy load or with towing. We tow a medium-size pop up camper. They have been terrific with reducing any scraping of the hitch. Installation was quite easy, just follow the videos. I did modify the tube routing. Did not join them together but took each individual airlift tube straight out to the front of the tire. There are these little "pockets" in front of each tire. I just ran each line straight to that little pocket and then stick the The valves right into the pocket. It has worked great. I do find that when I have it on lower pressure that there is a slight squeak from the airlifts. I assume this is due to the fact that they're able to move around more at the lower pressure. 431067

Comments

I have now been using the airlifts for a year. We have towed our pop-up several thousand miles. The airlifts continue to work flawlessly. However, for towing the airlifts do not do any weight distribution. For that you need a weight distribution hitch. I am just using my air lifts for now, but considering a weight distribution hitch. Even with that would still need the airlifts for heavy loads.

WOW really these things really do make a huge difference. I have a 1997 Jeep grand Cherokee I hook up to a small horse trailer once in while and Jeep used to take a beating now with air lift rear end doesn't budge and the ride is very good still. Highly recommend for anyone towing for sure but if u want to tighten up suspention these will do it and you can adjust pressure for perfect ride LOVE THEM !!! 566150

I ordered this kit , they got it out the same day. Received in 2 days! I live in Hawaii! Excellent service. Product: I was skeptical because the hose provided seemed cheapy... but man it’s been holding up beautifully!! I’m a soundman I load 2 mains, 2 subs, 5 monitors, and a full backline in a 2016 sienna!! So far so good! Reason for 4 stars is I wish the kit came with an L bracket to mount the fill valve stem. 564089

Even though our use a weight distributing hitch on my travel trailer, I thought that this airbag system would be beneficial. Not only to help with the load but with control. The key it was simple and easy to install. I am very please with the whole transaction. 565979

Shipped quick, boxed well, simple instructions. Installation was a bit more difficult than expected, but not impossible. If I could do it again, I’d remove the fender wells like the etrailer video suggests. I do recommend using zip ties to fold the bags down prior to slipping them in the coil springs. Hooked up my camper, hooked up the weight distribution bars, added air, and it significantly reduced the sag and raised the camper to a level position on my 2017 Ram Big Horn 4x4 towing a 26’ forest river camper 5750 lbs. I had no leaks after a 16 hour leak down test at 35 psi. Just a fantastic and inexpensive upgrade that drastically improves ride quality and stability. No more sweaty palms while driving! 557399

I've had this product installed on my 2011 Sienna, and it has worked great at keeping my headlights where they belong on the road. I keep about 10# of air in them and they don't affect the ride at all. ANd they keep the back end from sinking when i hook up my boat. 426756

Review from a similar Air Lift AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

After installing the AirLift 1000 air bags on my 2013 Ram 1500 it raised the rear suspension up about 1.5 inches or more when I hook up our (1/2 ton tow-able) 32 foot fifth wheel RV . This gave me a much better ride and control while pulling the RV. My biggest problem was getting the air line on the bag after it was in the rear spring. When I installed the other side I attached the air line on the bag prior to sliding it into the rear spring and fed the line out the top of the spring assembly as the bag was being inserted. This made a much easier air line connection. If you need some lift and stability I would recommend the AirLift 1000 air bags. 555251

Great product. Instalation of airlines over nipples is tight. I used a heat gun to slightly soften the tubing and that made instalation much easier. I highly recomend if doing any towing or hauling heavy items in back of a van or passenger car. 424960

Comments

Air bags are still working great. They make a huge improvement in handling when I am towing my little trailer or weighted down with luggage. They do bleed off over a few months time but it really is a non issue.

Installed yesterday took about 2 hrs taking my time using the lift at the Base auto hobby shop. I did not even pull tires, just fender liners, I ran the lines individually through the upper license plate bolt holes. Ride felt a little stiffer on way home ride was kind of soft with topper in my opinion prior to airbags. Held air this morning after pumping it up to 35 over night, Only improvement would be to upgrade the T from plastic to metal I did not want to use that plastic T. 555247

Been using them for a year now and they have not given me any problems. They really helped keep the back end of our '08 Sienna from sinking too low when pulling our travel trailer (1750lbs). Would not hesitate to get them if your're thinking about it, I'm glad we did! 557324

Review from a similar Air Lift AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

I have been very happy with the performance of these air lifts. I have them set up on a 2011 Honda Odyssey - which is notorious for sagging quite low in the back end with moderate to heavy loads or with a loaded bike rack or towing a trailer. I would not say that the process was very difficult to assemble - I just took my time and was very careful. The instructions - both written and through on-line videos were pretty good. There are two holes that need to be drilled (one each side) that are 3/4 inch in diameter. I did not have the correct tool for this and the method that I used to create these holes was far more difficult and time consuming than I had anticipated. In the end, I should have just bought the correct drilling tool. During use, you can hear the suspension "squeak" a little when a large pump is hit or doing something that compresses the suspension - but it's not a big deal or annoying to me. Overall - so far so good. 547780

Great product. I have a 1/2 ton Yukon pulling a 23 foot toy hauler. Without the bags it would squat the truck 4-5 inches. With the bags it only squats 2 inches. The control of the vehicle is much better. A cheap product for the added ride, and safety it provides. 522880

Air Lift AirLift 1000 kit works perfectly on my 2017 Toyota Sienna XLE. Installation was just easy after reviewing online video. Take your time to route the air hose from the heat source, moving parts, and hidden. Bend the the heat shield, too. It took me an hour for the installation and leak tests. My van towed heavy loaded trailers at 30 psi and full loaded van at 20 psi; vehicle levels from front to rear, no more rear sagging. Great product! 548255

Been running these for a year with no problems. Just transported about 1,000lbs of stuff in my 2006 Sienna. Before I left I made sure the bags were at 35psi. Van hardly sagged at all. Great addition to a vehicle I use regularly to haul stuff and tow a tent trailer. Installation was moderately difficult. I mounted the shraeder valve next to the fuel fill-up behind the fuel door. I check it every time I change the oil. Seems to lose about 10psi over 5 months. 290500

5 stars. Removing old bag: I found that using a heat gun helps tremendously in removing the old bag. Heating it to almost the melting point then sticking a large knife to cut it in pieces and pulling out the bottom. Installing the new one: I used gear hose clamps after rolling it up and using dish soap as a lubricant helped a lot. 547101

Comments

Thanks for the follow up, I might suggest using something that is less likely to slice the air bag like some heavy duty twine, or maybe some zip ties.

No problem with bags. We did hear noise when bags rub on springs. I lubricate the bags with silicone twice now and noise goes away. Web site indicated that everything we ordered was appropriate for our Honda Odyssey, BUT apparently the air bags were not. The carton the bags came in did not list what vehicles the bags were compatible with, so we assumed they were correct. They were not. When I contacted the company I told them we were sending them back and expected an even exchange. It took several challenges before they helped us with credit for our return. They eventually did thanks to a logical trusting lady. 395937

System was ez to install. Works great! Make sure you route the hoses so they wont get pinched between the shock coils. Also route the hoses so they are securely anchored but have enough slack for suspension flexing. I tow a 8,000 lb toy hauler with about a 1200lb hitch weight. I have 6” of lift in my Ram 1500 pickup and before the bags the rear was really compressed under the load. With the bags at 30PSI the rear barely dips and drives very stable even over rough roads. Have used the system under load for over 8000 miles of high speed towing, again often over rough roads. Worked great! Only negative is that the inflate nipples and mounting rings corroded quickly. Easily replaceable with stainless parts available at any good hardware supplier. I will be changing the hoses this year as they are not hi quality and its time to change out those. I’ll use a higher quality hose this time. I also use a high end equalizer hitch to help. Both systems work well together. 541945

2013 Toyota Sienna AWD Great product. The thing that really surprised me about this was the handling improvement even without a load. I don't like the squishy handling that they give minivans. They must do it to make it more comfortable, but handling suffers. With 20 psi in the airbags, handling is much tighter and the difference is clear. Installation notes on the AWD: Due to the rear axleshaft the exhaust is farther from the spring, so I left off the heat shield. The etrailer install videos were tremendously helpful. 267875

My reason for purchasing this product was to keep rear suspension level when towing, and it has done exactly that. I tow a small open motorcycle trailer...total weight of trailer with motorcycle is less than 900 lbs. Of course, the van itself has another 100 to 200 extra lbs. So not too heavy, but without the Air Lift 1000, rear suspension would drop 3-4 inches. Now it barely drops at all. This also help with loading and unloading the bike out the back of trailer since it keeps the rear of the trailer lower as well. The van handles as if I wasn't towing. Secondary benefit...headlights stay level and you aren't blinding oncoming traffic. Definitely recommend, and would purchase again. Excellent product. 371482

I am very satisfied with this setup, installed quickly and easily. The van rides and handles better weather empty or full, and it really is nice to not have everyone flashing me at night when the whole family is in the car(low beams). I installed these on my Sienna AWD van, and did invert them so the air connections were at the top of the spring for better air hose routing. In doing so, I lost the shims. The best part was that I emailed AirLift customer service to see if I could purchase the shims. Let's just say I am more than impressed with their response. You dont find customer service like this, they were responsive, and sent me new spacers asap. I would highly recommend these to anyone. 54148

2002 Odyssey. Old suspension. Solution? Replace all rear suspension. At that time, install the springs. Piece of cake. Follow drilling instructions accurately. FOR 3/4" HOLE, USE A 3/4" BIMETAL HOLE SAW FROM HARDWARE STORE. This ended up being the solution to drilling a 3/4 in hole. A no-brainer. Get this product. With new suspension, from center of hub to bottom of quarter panel, aprox 215 mm height. Air should be added or removed to maintain this height for proper traction and tire wear. Don't jack up the car with air. Let the car ride at the height it was designed and aligned to. 39179

The functionality of this product is awesome! we literally use it every day. It has been leak free for almost a year but after just 3 weeks the flimsy heat shield gave up the ghost - we ended up using an exhaust wrap in its place and that seems to be a better solution than the one provided..with that said we've taken the system on multiple outings / trips and camping with no issues at all...only reason for the 4 stars is the heat shield which is easily fixed. 264506

Comments

After about a year of use we found that one of the bags was leaking - we replaced it with a new bag and its working again as intended...one note if the air line isnt perfectly cut it will leak...also we added some 3M 4200 at the connection and this stuff is awesome for fixing small leaks and should be added during initial install

These air bag helper springs have only been installed for a month now, so it is too early to attest to their quality. The installation went smooth and in accordance with the sales information. There was one caveat - the hose clamps for attaching the heat shield were too large, requiring me to make a trip to the hardware. I towed my camper up into the mountains and I had no problems with rear end sag and no control issues. If they continue to perform as they have thus far, I will be very pleased. 95319

Put these on our '97 G. Cherokee because it squats easily with any load at all. I followed what little install instructions that were provided carefully and Googled for more tips from others. I opened the hole up where the air line enters the c. spring and added rubber grommets for protection. I never hauled any near the 1000# rating. I never exceeded 25psi and check the psi daily for a couple weeks. All seemed well until for about a month and then the lines began to leak. I cut them back and added better clamps but they still leak........ Bottom line is that this product is not worth the $$$ or the effort of installing/fixing for what you'll get out of it. 332722

Customer Service, great! I called 4:45 PM and needed the airbags the next day. I paid for overnight shipping and had them by 2:00 PM the next day. Product, great! I can't comment on installation because I had mechanic install. But two days later, I drove 2,000 miles with six adults and the 2010 Grand Caravan drove better than brand new. I am very happy with my AirLift 1000 air bag kit. Everything I needed was included and installation was easy. I was on a vehicle hoist when I did the installation. It made a huge difference while towing my pop-up in stopping my trailer hitch from scraping the ground when I go through a dip into a parking lot. The hitch on my 08 Sienna is much lower than most vehicles. Even without the trailer the van rides well. Better than I had hoped for. 543077

Review from a similar Air Lift AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

I first realized that I needed some help leveling my 2006 Yukon XL right after I hooked my 2 place trailer to the vechile. My previous Yukon had self leveling rear shocks, the 2006 did not come w/ that option. I mounted the compressor on the top of the passenger side wheel well, (there is plenty of room there, & away from engine heat) I mounted the pump & dump switchs , & the pressure gage on a piece of kydex that I cut to fit in the little cubby that is below the heat/ac controls. The hardest part was getting the lift "bags" into the coil spring tower, time & patience. The install looks factory, & works great to level the vechile while towing. Great product! 477025

Review from a similar Air Lift AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

I have a 2008 Sienna and did the older install where the valves were mounted to the hitch, rather than through the car jack area. I also used wire loom 1/4" diameter throughout the install for extra protection and used metal loom clamps with self drilling screws as the install video showed for 2006 Sienna's. The install took about an hour once I figured everything out. I didn't do the tee fitting with only one valve because it was plastic, but I heard you can order a brass tee that might be more durable. However, since one line is longer than the other to my valves, I notice that it is difficult to completely sync up the psi, so I would do the tee fitting if I do on another vehicle. I didn't measure exactly, but definitely with the eye test the Air Lift system kept the back end up under a heavy load with hitch mount bike rack loaded with 4 bikes. I could also feel less sag and bounce when going over bumps and a more stable ride under load. So far so good, we'll see how all the parts last when they have to go through a few winters. But for now, works great. 220032
