Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Pacbrake Alpha XD Rear Axle, Double-Convoluted Air Bag Suspension Kit. Now this kit has been designed to fit your 2007 and newer Sprinters, the 2500 and the 3500 with two-wheel or four-wheel drive, and this is designed for the single rear wheel model only, so this will not work with the dual rear wheel models, and it will also not fit the E-Sprinter models nor the models with the ride height sensors. So on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.
Now, when the load gets heavy, your Sprinter is going to need more than just those rear factory springs hanging on for dear life. These air bags are gonna give you up to 7,500 pounds of rear axle support, keeping your Sprinter level and steady even when your trailer is loaded, your cargo area is packed, and the miles are long, so no more rear sag throwing off your braking or your steering or having your headlights point up to the sky when they should be actually pointing down on the road. So every haul is gonna be different. That's why these air springs give you full control over ride height and firmness with adjustable air pressure from 5 to 100 psi. So if you're hauling a fifth wheel or a full bed of gravel, you can just crank up the pressure, and then when you're unloaded heading home, just drop that pressure back down for a softer ride.
With the manual inflation valves, tuning your suspension for the day's work is gonna be very easy. Extreme hauling does demand extreme durability, and these springs are built with one-inch thick corrosion-resistant end caps that you can't see because they do have them kind of loosely assembled here, but the bags also are reinforced with 20 internal support wires giving you maximum strength under that load, and then on the top and the bottom we have these heavy-duty roll plates that are gonna protect those bags from chafing and help extend their lifespan. These powder-coated steel brackets are custom fit, and they're gonna fight back against rust and corrosion, so this kit is going to be able to handle whatever you throw at it no matter the road conditions or the weather conditions. These are precision laser-cut brackets. They are designed to bolt cleanly to your Sprinter's existing mounting points without welding or drilling to your frame.
They're gonna install with the included hardware that you see here. And so this kit is designed to work with your setup today and wherever your upgrades are gonna take you tomorrow. Again, you can inflate these manually with standard air valves right out of the box, no extra parts needed, but if you already have an onboard compressor, these are gonna connect easily to most existing setups, and then maybe you're planning for something like an in-cab wireless controller sometime down the road. That's not gonna be an issue because with this kit you're building that foundation to where you could expand your control options when you're ready. So, again, this is gonna give you up to 7,500 pounds of load-leveling support, but it is important to note that this is not going to actually increase your Sprinter's weight-carrying capacity, so you wanna make sure that you're not exceeding your manufacturer's recommended weight limit.
