These additional leaf springs add support and sway control to your existing OEM suspension. Just bolt on SuperSprings over your existing factory springs, and they automatically work when you need them. As the factory spring flexes, a roller at each end of the beefy helper spring reacts to engage the helper spring and to provide extra support. The springs help to better distribute cargo weight throughout your existing suspension, channeling that weight to the points on the frame that are designed to support heavy loads.

Placing these leaf springs above your factory springs helps to keep your OEM springs from twisting, so the SuperSprings act like a sway bar, reducing the body roll that makes driving more difficult and dangerous. Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Ford F-150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit, part number SSA28.Here's what our SuperSprings are going to look like once we have 'em installed. Now, these are going to give us the support we need whenever we're hauling a heavy load or towing a heavy trailer. Typically, whenever we're hauling something extremely heavy, our suspension wants to flex a lot and our back end sags down. Well, these are going to provide us the extra support by activating whenever our suspension flexes. The rollers on the end of our leaf spring are going to activate our helper spring and provide us that extra support, but also still giving us a nice ride when we're not towing something heavy because it's going to deactivate those springs and still have a nice, comfortable ride.Since they're attached to the front and back of our factory leaf springs, it's also going to act like a sway bar and it's going to prevent our leaf springs from twisting, giving us a lot more stability when we're driving down the road. The multiple notches in the end here are going to provide us with a little bit of customization.

Depending on how much support we need, if we need more, or if we just have a little bit of spring fatigue in our truck, it'll give us that little bit of lift so whenever we're towing something, we don't have quite as much sag.Whenever we're towing or hauling something heavy, the back end typically sags, but that's going to put a lot of stress and strain on our factory suspension in the back, not to mention in the front, it's going to lift up, which'll misalign our headlights and take less contact of our tires touching the road. We'll go ahead and measure the factory measurements. The back here, the center line of the wheel, it's going to be right about 40 and a quarter inches. Now, at the front, it's going to be right about 37 and a half inches, and that's with no weight in the bed of the truck. Let's go ahead and add some weight and see what those measurements are.We have a water tank in the bed of our truck as a heavy load or to simulate the tongue weight of a heavy trailer or a fifth wheel.

Let's go ahead and take the measurements and see what it did. At the same point, it dropped our truck about three inches in the back. Now, in the front, it raised it up about a half an inch.Now, with the same load in our truck, we can already visually just see that it made quite a bit of difference. Now, if I take a few measurements, measuring at the same point, we're right at about 38 and a quarter inches, so it still did drop down, but not as bad. Now, in the front, we're just over 37 and three-quarters, so again, it did bring it up a little bit, but it is helping out, not bringing it as high.What you're really going to like about these leaf springs is the fact that they're extremely easy to install.

There's not going to be any kind of drilling involved and once we have 'em in, they're completely maintenance-free. Unlike a lot of air springs, we're not going to have to worry about any valves, adjusting the air pressure, or worrying about any leaks.To begin our installation, you're going to want to lift the back end of your truck by the frame so that the suspension can hang down and then the tires are off the ground.Next, we're going to prep our spring in order to get it on our truck. Now, to do this, we're going to need a three-quarter inch socket and a wrench. Now, on each end, we're going to have these black plastic rollers with a bushing inside and it's being held on by a half-inch nut and bolt. Using our wrench and socket, we'll go ahead and take those off and hold onto the roller and bushing.

We'll do that for both sides. If we come right where our factory leaf springs meet our axle, we're going to have our U-bolts and we're going to have a couple bolts on top. We can grab our polyurethane block and you'll notice that the large section in the middle has a couple notches on either side along with four round sections that are sticking out. You're going to want to put that large section with the notches in between the two bolts so it's just resting right on top of our leaf spring pack just like this.Next, we can take our leaf spring and to make it a little bit easier to get in place, I'm going to come from the backside and feed it in until I can just loosely get it sitting on top of my factory leaf springs. We don't need to get the positioning right just yet. We just want to make sure that it's stable and it's not going to fall down. Now we can rotate those silver tabs so they're pointing down towards the ground and at this point, our leaf spring is going to slide a lot back and forth, but that's okay. Like I said, we're just getting everything in position right now.Next, we're going to take our roller with our bushing and our bolt and for the front eyelet, we're going to go through the very top hole closest to our leaf spring, so we can slide our roller and bushing in place and we're going to take our bolt and we're going to pass it through 'til it goes all the way through both sides. Then we're going to loosely secure it with the nut that we removed from earlier.Now we're going to connect the rear one the same way. Slide our bushing in place. You may need to kind of pull down just a little bit on the leaf spring in order to get everything lined up. We want to make sure that bolt goes all the way through both eyelets. Then we're going to secure it with that half-inch nut that we removed from earlier.Now here in the front, we actually moved our bolt to the second hole to get the proper adjustment. With our leaf spring loosely in place, we want to make sure that at the back eyelet here, that we have at least three-quarters to an inch of space between the first obstruction. We have our lower piece of our leaf spring here, which is going to be a little bit more than an inch away and then back here, we have a little bit more than an inch as well, so we're okay.Now on the front side, it's not as big of a concern. Our big concern up here is that we are behind the spring clamp here and we only need about a quarter of an inch of travel each direction, so once we get that, we can tighten up our bolts.We're going to be using that same three-quarter inch wrench and socket, and we're just going to snug up that hardware. We don't need to go extra tight. We just want to make sure that it's nice and snug and that the bolt is going to go through the locknut. We'll tighten the front bolt as well. With this side done, we'll go ahead and repeat that and do that for the other side as well. That'll finish up your look at the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit, part number SSA28 on our 2017 Ford F-150.

This is the 3rd set of supersprings I have purchased. I am completely satisfied with each set. I have a set on a 30 foot class C motor home and it solved a swaying problem plus giving a better ride. I had a set on a F 150 that I sold, so when I got a new pickup I needed another set. The supersprings completely solve any towing and hauling issues. Part arrived and looked great. Very easy to install. Only two things that can be fixed is that the springs only go on one way and they are not marked front/rear, and its not real clear how the the rubber spacer is used. I installed these on a 2005 ford F-150 Supercrew and I pull a 30 foot travel trailer. I have installed air bags to level the truck/trailer, but at 50psi the kids in the back seat got beat up due to the poor ride. I'm hoping these springs will level the truck/trailer and give us a better ride. We going up north this weekend and I hope i can re-post how the trip went. 280234

After having used partial and full ‘add-a-leaf’ kits on fleet trucks in the past, I was willing to give these a try. Having missed the stiffness of a 2500 rear end and having put 125k on a 1500 with a topper/camper shell, this was the progressive stiffness I was looking for. The vehicle sits 1.5” higher at the rear, isn’t overly stiff, alowing the Bilstein shocks to continue to do their job, properly. Adding the tow behind camper, along with a loaded bed, far less body sway without a compromised ride. I also utilized the SumoShocks (front and rear), for some time and I love them. Having everything together, as a package, works great for me when towing, the bed is loaded down and when I’m traveling 2hrs at a time from place to place, as a highway truck. This will take some serious C clamps (8” from hardware store) and some mechanical aptitude if using a jack and stand(s) in the garage. Overall, not too strenuous or hard. Nothing intimidating. I’d definitely recomend to anyone wanting to help tired leaf springs or when reducing body roll. 557350

Just installed and I loved how easy it was took 30 min tops. I expected a much stiffer rear end with the bed empty but was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the ride remained. I did notice a more stable and responsive feel while driving. All in all super impressed with the product so far, shipping was fast (ordered Saturday and received Wednesday, in canada) everything I needed was in the kit and it only raised the rear end up about 1/2". 316290

It a good product for 2017 Ford f150 except 1 factor that it had to mounted more toward the rear and the no bracket to hold it in place if I get a tire rotation or lift the vehicle from the rear the spring roll away and need to clamped while lowering the vehicle. I contacted Super directly to there warranty department and they sent me a lock down kit. It also Lifted the truck about a inch on low setting so I'm sitting at 39 inch in rear. 505177

This product is excellent and easy to install w/o altering or affecting any OEM parts or infrastructure. It's truly an add-on. The springs added about 2-4 inches of clearance and balanced load more evenly throughout the vehicle. Product does just what it says it does. Installed them on a Thursday and towed with them that weekend....... and they did a great job. Handled the tongue weight of my dump trailer better. I did notice a decreased amount of "wave" effect when you are in tow and your heavy trailer hits a bump or swale in the road; and transfers that energy to the truck. Sorta feels like you got a heavy tail that someone is tugging on. This was significantly reduced and made for a pleasant ride Later on Sunday then threw a load of firewood (no trailer this time) in the bed full; and in comparison of a previous haul with wood the truck did not sag as much. My truck config is stock, double cab w/ 8' bed 4x4. I did not notice a stiffness in ride with and empty bed or no trailer in tow. Seemed to be just fine. Slightly raised the rear but with the long truck it is hardly noticeable. One part of the installation was a little difficult, when it came time to compress the leaf it was a bit of a chore. I did have a 5" c-clamp but it was getting tough the last few inches to get the roller underneath the stock leafs. If I had a special leaf spring clamp tool as shown on some of the youtube vids I would have been done in about a 1/2 hour but with out this tool it makes the compression part slow. 145702

These Supersprings are great! I carry my snowmobile in the back of my 2007 Tundra. The trucks ride is noticeably more firm without the bottoming- out that I had been experiencing. Pretty easy to install. Probably took me 6 hours maybe a little less. The worst part was getting my rear tires removed. These helper springs worked well. My truck didn't sag nearly as much with similar loads in it than it did before. Probably raised it around 4-5 inches when loaded and about an inch when not. Only complaint is the bolts holding the product to the adapter for a spring over axle setup are not of a high grade. They broke, but I may have overtightened them. I replaced them with some grade 8 bolts from the hardware store. They are only needed to hold the new spring in place when the vehicle is raised off the ground. They don't affect the performance of the product. 247201

This product is a must if you are looking for a pleasant ride empty, yet still have additional capacity when you need it. I purchased it because I haul a Lance 1062 camper and was not pleased with the air bag setup I had been using. The air bags would handle the load just fine, but I got a lot of side to side motion while going around corners. I even set each air bag up independent of the other. The SSA15 kit eliminated the side to side motion. It really does act like a sway bar. I recommend you remove the rear tires when you install, it will make it much easier. 485410

I just finished the installation. I ran into a few problems specific to the 2008 F350 dually that were not called out in the instructions. I had to loosen all of the parking brake cable mounts running along the spring on the left side to get the spring in, and I had to modify the brake cable bracket that mounts on the axle u-bolt bracket. It still only took about 1 1/2 hours to complete the job. I used the bottom hole on the front shackle and the center hole on the rear shackle and got about 2 inches rise which I needed for the Lance 1181 Camper I haul. It rides and performs much better than I expected. Great product that performs as advertised! 86608

I got this to prevent bottoming out my truck when towing our travel trailer. Won't know for sure if this actually works until we load up. Having said that, the instructions provided with this are poor and talking with Supersprings tech support was frustrating. As mentioned elsewhere, you will need two "C" clamps to pre-load the spring and I wound up fabricating a 3" extension bracket for the brake lines; neither of which were mentioned in the instructions. I also removed the wheels to provide working space and air tools are definitely the way to go. On my '13 Tundra, the distance between the stock spring pack straps is 40" the same as the distance between the eyes on the Superspring. I was advised that the spring is mounted off-center to avoid conflict with the stock spring straps; however this in not mentioned in the instructions. This placed the Superspring about 4" forward of the center of the axel instead of centered on the axel. (see photos) This seems counterintuitive to me but we'll see. This added 1.5" in height to the rear of the truck. It took me 4 hours to install by my self, including time to fabricate the brake line extensions and dealing with Supersprings staff twice on the phone. During the second call, the tech mentioned that they get a lot of phone calls for Tundra installs, indicating to me that they already know there are issues with the product and instructions. In retrospect, I would look for a new spring pack if I was doing this again. Hopefully my suspicions are unfounded but I'm hanging on to the box just incase. Great item!! The Supersprings performed just as described. No more sag in the suspension and the benefit of better control. Installation was an hour with the help of an experienced mechanic and the right tools. If it wasn't for removing of the bumb stops on the axle, installation would have been faster. Expensive product, but it is a quality product and made in the USA. After install, the springs raised the rear of the truck about 2" to 3" when unloaded. Best part is that the springs didn't cause the truck to ride rough when unloaded. 21988

product was missing two washers and came in a weathered box that indicated it was a returned item re-shipped for my use a more thourough inspection of this kit and a new box would have made a difference. the product has performed well and i prefer it to airbags that must be monitored for air pressure. i have not tested it under load yet but it has good potential 241598

Very pleased! There are two settings, but I prefer the heavier capacity setting and higher in the rear feeling. It has made all the difference in the world with my long wheelbase 2002 Chevrolet Astro Van. I really do not feel that it has changed my ride comfort that much, very little, if any. I always have some kind of load on the van, whether hauling cargo in the van, or towing a trailer, that my ride is still as smooth as always. But, the remarkable thing is, that now my rear end isn't sagging to the ground like it always use to be, even without a load! I'm super pleased and would recommend these springs to everyone for the reasons I've shared above. 563128

I bought this product for my 2001 F250 that I use to haul a 24' gooseneck horse trailer typically loaded with about 3000-4000 lbs of cargo. My truck was squatting and I was experiencing sway, expecially on the interstate when passing tractor trailers. The super springs greatly improved my truck's suspension and performance when hauling. These helper springs worked well. My truck didn't sag nearly as much with similar loads in it than it did before. Probably raised it around 4-5 inches when loaded and about an inch when not. Only complaint is the bolts holding the product to the adapter for a spring over axle setup are not of a high grade. They broke, but I may have overtightened them. I replaced them with some grade 8 bolts from the hardware store. They are only needed to hold the new spring in place when the vehicle is raised off the ground. They don't affect the performance of the product. 247200

Superspring purchase was right on the mark. Gave George J. all the info on my truck, rv and what I was experiencing. He suggested the SSA5MTKT springs that they should take care of my problem. I installed them in 45 minutes, hooked to my rv and made a pull. I was able to pull at 65 and 70 mph with minimal bouncing and rocking. Springs arrived one day earlier than promised then the mounting kit arrived the next day, on time. Checked for the fit of the mounting kit and it clears the axle and bolt sticking up through the existing springs, but didn't check clearance for the springs yet, will wait until I have more time and actually install them.
