Get the Best of Both Springs

The air springs and jounce springs in this system work together to give you the best ride whether your truck is loaded or unloaded. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs have internal urethane foam jounces that protect the air springs and provide added ride comfort when your air pressure is low. The jounces also allow you to temporarily carry a load if the air springs lose air pressure. This gives your 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, or 1-ton pickup, motor home, or commercial truck air springs that are easier to maintain.

Air Springs Level Your Load

Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts extra stress on your truck. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even inaccurate and unsafe headlight aim.

By pairing your existing suspension with LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and get the support you need. The springs provide up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity (depending on the weight-carrying capacity of your vehicle) and distribute the weight of your payload to all 4 wheels. As a result, the stress on your factory suspension is significantly reduced. LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated equally for front-to-back leveling or independently of one another for side-to-side leveling.

The air springs are made of high-quality, 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends where the bag is enclosed with steel caps. These caps can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. But the endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air.

Roll plates on Air Lift 5000 Ultimate air spring

The air bags also have Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which protect the air springs and beef up their load capacity. These sturdy plates help guard the springs from moving parts under your vehicle that might puncture the air bags. The plates also provide a larger surface area for each spring to roll on. The extra surface area gives you a higher spring rate at a lower air pressure, resulting in a better ride.

Built-In Jounce Springs Add Control and Comfort

Air Lift 5000 Ultimate air spring with jounce spring inside

The closed-cell urethane jounce spring inside each air spring gives you a more stable, comfortable ride. Each jounce acts as an overload spring and engages when your current air pressure level isn't enough to support your load. So on a rough road, the springs will kick in if needed to absorb bumps and shocks and help you to avoid bottoming out. When the jounces support a load, they adjust progressively - the more weight you pile on, the stiffer they become. The urethane material engages more smoothly than rubber jounces so you get a less jerky ride.

Because these jounces are taller than your factory jounce bumpers, they engage sooner than your factory jounces would to provide better support. And if the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs have insufficient or zero air pressure, the internal jounces will help to temporarily support your suspension and protect it from damage until you can repair or adjust the air spring system.

Easy Installation

This system installs with the included brackets and hardware. Just mount the springs, inflate them, and ride. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump in air through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the manual inflation valves (one for each spring). These are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere that is easily accessible. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately) that allows you to monitor and adjust the springs from the cab of your truck.

Lifetime Warranty

Along with a lifetime warranty that has no mileage restrictions, Air Lift offers a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Just install and use LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove and return them for a full refund.

Video Transcript for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs Installation - 2017 Ford F-150

Today on our 2017 Ford F150, we're going to be installing Air Lift's Load Lifter 5,000 Air Helper Springs. These are available for four wheel drive or two wheel drive F150s. These airbags are going to provide up to 5,000 pounds of load leveling support. Now this doesn't increase how much your vehicle can haul, just how much support the airbags can provide to your suspension system. These can be particularly useful if you're a loading on the back and it changes the geometry of your vehicle by sagging the back and bringing the front up. This changes how your tires are contacting the road, lowering your handling and braking performance.

Additionally, it causes your headlights to point up towards the sky, which drastically reduces nighttime visibility. By bringing the back up and leveling it back out, you restore that lost handling and braking performance as well as your nighttime vision. The airbags can be adjusted from five to 100 psi pressure, five essentially being your normal unloaded ride and a hundred being the maximum support that they can offer. They can be adjusted independently from left to right to help adjust for any uneven loads that you may be hauling. One thing that sets these airbags apart from others is the internal jounce bumper located inside the airbag. This offers you extra reliability that is not found on those that does not have. In case your airbags lose pressure, there's the jounce bumper inside of these that can act as a standard factory jounce bumper providing you that support in those extreme scenarios.

And it can also help prevent you from bottoming out. Here we've got our vehicle unloaded without our airbags installed. And from the ground to the bottom of our fender well here, it's going to be about 40 and a quarter inches at the back and at the front we're going to have about 37 inches. Now we've placed a large tank full of water in the back of our truck to simulate a have you load. And with our airbags not installed, our suspension has dropped down nearly two inches and in the front here our vehicle's lifted up nearly an inch and a half. Being able to bring your vehicle back to its factory ride height while carrying a heavy load is going to help bring back that lost handling and braking performance due to the geometry changes of your truck. It's going to help your tires contact the road as they we're intended to under its factory suspension, but you're going to get that hauling capacity you bought the truck for. Before you begin your installation, you may want to lift up the body of your whole truck to give you a little more room between your axle and your frame.

We're using a steeple jack. You just screw up the back, put a little bit of pressure on it to help give us that extra clearance. That'll make the installation much easier. We'll begin our installation under the rear of the vehicle just above the rear axle. We're on our passenger side here and we're going to remove the jounce bumper. All the things we're doing here, we're going to be doing on the driver's side as well.

We're going to use a 13 millimeter socket to remove the bolt holding our jounce bumper on. We'll set this aside as we won't be reinstalling it. On the rear side of the rear axle, we're going to need to remove the 10 millimeter head bolt using a 10 millimeter socket on this bracket here, as the bracket is going to have to be spaced out to fit our lift loader brackets in. Let's take that loose and we just need to pull it out just a little bit.Next we'll install our upper bracket. These are labeled left and right. See "R" her as we're on the passenger side, our right side. Make sure the hole is towards the rear and the bent flange is on the inside. Take the black bolts in the kit with the black washer on it, and we're going to thread that up to where our jounce bumper used to be. We'll then tighten it down with a 17 millimeter socket. Then torque your hardware to the specifications found in your instruction. You'll receive self tapping screws that come in our kit. See the little notch cut out in there indicating it's a self tapper. We're going to use that to tap the hole here on the front side of our axle. So we're just going to start that by hand and use a 13 millimeter socket to thread it in. Once you got the screw threaded in, we're going to take it right back out, but now we've got threads tapped into our spring perch. We'll now put our lower bracket on and these ones are symmetrical so there is no left and right. Either one will fit on either side. You want to push that in, line it up with the holes in your spring perch. We can then take our bracket and reinstall it. We're not going to be using the factory hardware though. We're going to be using the flange bolts that come included in the kit. Going to line that back up, thread it in. Now we don't want to tighten it all the way down right now. We just want to leave it a little bit loose. Then on the opposite side, we can reinstall that self tapping screw. And you want to leave it a little loose so our bracket, we can still kind of move it around if we need to.Now we'll install our carriage bolts. Now this is the only difference between your four wheel drive and two wheel drive installations is how these bolts install. On our four wheel drive installation, they go from top down through our opening in our brackets. On our two wheel drive it'll go from the bottom up. You want to remember if you're doing the two wheel drive, the clamp must be put on before you put your bolt up. Since we have a four wheel drive here, we're going to be putting that top down. It's a little tight getting it in there, so you might have to kind of thread it down until you get past the head here at the top where the bracket is, and we're going to do that with the back bolt as well. Now we can slide our strap on the bottom and secure it using a flat washer followed by a lock nut. If this was a two wheel drive, those would be exactly the same, just on top. We can then tighten it down with a 15 millimeter socket. You just want to tighten it back and forth, making sure they tighten down evenly. We can then torque those bolts to the specifications found in our instructions. And we want to tighten and torque our bolts that we installed in the side of our bracket as well. And then you'll torque down the side bolts that we put on our lower bracket to the specifications found in your instructions.Next you'll preassemble your airbags, place your roll plate on top and then install your air fitting down in the air fitting slot through the open hole. And tighten that down with a seven sixteenths wrench until you've got a couple of threads with sealant on them submerged within the threads on the airbag. And set your upper bracket onto your airbag. Line up the holes. There will be a cutout for your fitting here and they're labeled left and right to make it easy for you. We'll then take the shorter hex bolts with a lock washer and a flat washer on it. You can use that to connect it to the top of the airbag. You can then tighten it down with a 15 millimeter socket. And torque it to the specifications found in your instructions.Take your airbag and set it on top of your lower bracket. Take the shorter carriage bolts that come in your kit. Those are going to slide down through the upper bracket installed on the frame and through the upper bracket installed on the airbag. Now we'll install a flat washer followed by a lock nut. We'll tighten and torque these down as well using a 15 millimeter socket. Now we can take our bottom row plate, slide it between the airbag and the lower bracket, and then you're going to want to lower that jack down to bring the airbag closer to the lower bracket to make it easier to get the bottom hardware in. We'll now use the same hardware we did to get the top roll plate installed, the hex bolts followed by a lock washer and flat washer threaded into the bottom of our lower bracket here, lining up the holes with our roll plate and airbags. You'll tighten and torque these down as well. With all of our hardware in place we'll repeat this process on the other side and then we can run our air lines. Your kit comes with an air line hose that has pre-installed air inlet fittings on them, so these are going to go towards the rear of the vehicle or really wherever you'd like them to be where you can access it to air up your airbags. Since there's one pre installed on each end, that'll give you enough hose to run one to your left and then run another to your right airbag so you can air them up individually. Our customers requested to have a single air inlet to fill both of his airbags simultaneously. We're going to be using a union to do that. If you need a union T fitting, you can pick one up here at etrailer.com.So you're going to choose a location for your in here. We're going to mark ours right here in our hitch. We've drilled out a three eighths hole to do so. Before you slide it through you want to place a nut on the valve here and then put a star washer on after that. We'll now slide it through the hole that we made. Place the rubber washer on it, followed by a flat washer and another nut. You'll do this again if you're going to be having independent left and right inflation valves. You don't want to really tighten these too tight, and go back and just snug it down with a wrench a little bit, but you don't want to over tighten those as it is a brass fitting, so the threads are fairly soft and are easily stripped. So we're just going to snug it down just a little bit.Now if you're going to install it like we did, we took ours and ran it down the hitch and then we went up on top of the driver's side frame rail and just followed that all the way forward to our airbag, zip tying it to the factory wiring along the way. Once we get up to our airbag here, the fitting is on the other side, so we just want to make sure we've got enough length to reach over. So we're going to put our T fitting here at about this point. You want to cut your air line, make sure to use a pair of tubing cutters because you went to cut it square and flush, and you don't want to use side cutters or scissors to cut this because it won't seal properly if you do.So we've made our cut there. Now we'll take our T fitting and this just simply slides right in. It's a quick connect, so I like to kind of push it in and out a couple of times just to make sure it's fully seated. And from our T here we're going to help one piece of airline go off to the passenger side airbag and the other off to our driver's side here. So I'm going to route the air line over to the airbag and plug it in. The airbag itself has the same type of fitting as our T fitting here. It simply pushes in, quick connect. So just like before, I like to kind of push in and out and make sure it's fully seated. And then we're just going to get that length of hose kind of mocked up. We'll cut it and plug it into our T fitting. Now we'll do the same thing with our other airbag. We've routed it from our passenger airbag now over. Make our cut and put that into our T fitting. Now that everything's installed, you can just go back and zip tie up all of your air lines, making sure you avoid any moving objects such as your steering and suspension components and anything excessively hot such as your exhaust. We're now ready to test it out. Go ahead and inflate your airbags. You want to go to about 75 pounds and then check for any leaks. Now we'll take some soapy water and spray all of our fittings, both at our airbags and at the back here and check for the presence of bubbles. Now there is going to be bubbles when you spray it. That's the soap that's coming out of it. You're looking for continually repeating bubbles, which is an indication that air is leaking out creating those bubbles. We've got none here. We'll check it at our airbags and at our T fitting. And with no bubbles present our system's operating properly and we're ready to hook up our trailer and hit the road. And now with our airbags installed and inflated, we're only down about a half an inch here in the back. And in the front, our suspension is about the same as where it was when we started. And that completes our installation of Air Lift's Load Lifter 5,000 Air Helper Springs on our 2017 Ford F150.

2015 FORD f-150 Crew Cab. Exactly what I wanted. Works great. One note: The kit recommends a minimum of 5 lbs of air at all times even when the bags arn't needed which unfortunatly lifts the rear of the truck of about an inch. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. 235463

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Air Lift Loadlifter 5000 is doing the job I had hoped for and doing what the data listed for them said. I know the installation time shown by the "professionals" was said to be about 4 hours, but when you are 70+ years old and retired, I took more like 12 hours and enjoyed a lot of laying down during the installation. Which I did by myself. I would recommend these air lifts to anyone that wants to improve the "Ford Tough" ride and lift the rear to support any load, in my case, a 5th wheel trailer. 467900

After about a year the Air Lifts are doing just great! The 5th wheel trailer that loads the rear axle now rides level and is exactly why I purchased the Air Lifts. Easy to add or reduce air pressure as needed. Thanks for asking.

Work perfect! I installed these on my 2014 tundra to help with hauling a 30’ enclosed trailer when we were moving. Trailer weighed basically my max tow rating for my truck (10500lbs) and with these bags the truck sat perfectly level and towed like a dream! Well the supercharger also helped. 521145

This product is awesome. It only took me about two hours to put it on my Ram 2500 using standard hand tools. I paired it with the WirelessOne compressor system and it’s perfect. It eliminated my trailer squat and actually makes my truck ride better even without the trailer. If you’ve got a Ram that needs a little bit more suspension, look no further! 541542

The staff at etrailer was great. They verified that this product would fit my application even though there is a fifth wheel rail bracket involved. Also I ordered multiple products and one of the products was delayed. The offered to split the order so I could receive the air bags sooner, which I needed because I have an appointment to have them installed 425153

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Good day gents, I recently purchased the load lifter 5k. So far this is a fantastic product. They are rugged and heavy duty. everything bolts up nice and tight. I separated my instillation by two days; left side one day and right side the next it was a comfortable and less stressful pace. The instructions were a little difficult to follow but they include several schematics to refer to. I haven't experienced any leaks so far and they are holding pressure. There is an aftermarket super glide 5th wheel hitch in my truck so I did have to use a 1/2" drill to reveal the holes in my frame. Also if you have a hitch like mine or any aftermarket hitch you might need a longer 8x55 mm bolt for the left side that you won't find out until later....yea. I pull a 14k fifth wheel with my F250 and it works out great. Thanks again for an excellent solution. 200336

Installed load lifter 5000 plus with the smart air 2 single path on a 2015 F250. I pull a 30’ travel trailer with a GVRW of ~10k and looking for a product to work with my weight distribution hitch to keep the truck level. Good product all the necessary fittings are in package, install was not difficult. Took me a bit to figure out the magnet placement for the auto leveling, but a call to customer service helped me figure out what I was doing wrong. The staff is very helpful and helped with original order and troubleshooting. Only issue I had was the clamps for the heat shield were to small. 574940

Easy to install, easy to understand instructions. good fit and finish. I pull a 12K 5th wheel toy hauler and like my rig to stay level even when loaded. I've used Air lift on two of my trucks and upgraded this time to the bags with internal jounce bumpers because it seemed like a good idea. I just got back from a 240 mile trip and they worked perfectly. Makes a big difference when the road drops out and the 5th wheel comes down hard. No bottoming out and no bounce back. 232705

been towing for 15 years and owned a 41' 5'er for the past 2. All i can say is WOW!!!! such a difference in towing!!!!!! i also installed the in cab compressor controller as well so that i could monitor the air pressure in the bags(buy more air hose for compressor kit, what's included was not quite enough). Installation was a lil time consuming as i had broken a socket and rounded out one bolt(my fault). I personally found it easier to watch vids for the install vs using the manuals but that's jus me. Quick ship by etrailer and product has exceeded my expectations!!! highly recommend this product for anyone towing regardless of trailer type. 528335

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 installed on a 2016 F350, pulling a Momentum 328M. While it was not the cure all for ride quality that some claim, there was an improvement in ride quality, especially at bridge joints and rail road tracks and my headlights are now back on the road when towing the RV. Shipping was prompt and all parts needed were included with the kit. Installation was simple (watching the video helped a lot), getting the rear of the truck elevated (I drove mine up on a set of ramps) and removing the spare tire simplified the process as it allowed me to sit under the truck. I had one leak at the fitting where the air hose screws into the air spring, it was repaired by removing the fitting, applying teflon tape, and reinstalling. I am satisfied with the product and would recommend to anyone considering adding air springs. 402956

Watched the video, took about an hour to do the installation myself. I added this product to level out truck when hauling my fifth wheel camper. Overall great craftsmanship on this product, easy installation. I just couldn’t drill holes in my new bumper for the valve stems, so I add a piece of aluminum angle iron, drilled two 5/16 holes and added two self tapping screws to the hitch, turned out well. 541624

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

I compared this product with the Firestone offering for my vehicle and chose AirLift for several reasons: 1- The internal jounce bumpers. I liked the idea of being able to run with little to no air pressure. I also thought this necessary because I needed eliminate the factory bump-stops to install. 2- This product was made in Lansing, MI. I like supporting local industry. 3- I liked the fact that the load from the spring transferred directly into the frame of the truck vs. the offset brackets that came with the Firestone product. I am impressed with and disappointed with this product. We will start with my likes: - The bags do carry the load. I can level the truck regardless of what is in the back or on the trailer hitch. - The towing experience is much better with the bags in the back. The rear springs on the Tundra (probably true of most half ton trucks) for 900# of tongue weight even with weight distribution. The bags eliminated the extreme up/down bounce that come with very stiff weight distribution bars. - The kit is very well engineered and the installation went very well. - Airbags are an excellent compliment to a good WD hitch. My dislikes: - The internal jounce bumpers are awful. IMO they engage way too early. With no pressure in the bags they might as well be steel blocks. The truck crashes into them after only 1.5" of travel (railroad crossings, speed bumps, and undulations in the road. With 5-10 psi in the bags this is better but the stock ride of the truck is gone. It now feels more like a ¾ ton truck in the back (smoother because you are riding on air but there is very little suspension motion). - An airbag acts as a spring when the suspension compresses but it also acts like a spring when the suspension extends. The down travel of the rear suspension is limited. You notice this when you drive through a dip in the road at speed. Not only do I have limited down travel but when the tuck unloads the back of truck runs out of up travel way before the front. I am not sure what the future hold. I love the bags while towing my travel trailer and hate the bags when unloaded. I think that the best option would be a SumoSpring. I did not go this route because most people say that they engage to abruptly and wreck the ride. Well, so do these Airbags. At least with a SumoSpring I would keep the down travel of the suspension. I am considering purchasing a set for evaluation. AirLift offers an unconditional 60 day return policy. However 60 days did not prove to be enough time to really evaluate this product. Right away I noticed the problems with the ride of the truck. I played with air pressure etc. At 90 days I knew what I really didn't like. I wrote AirLift an e-mail but did not receive a response. Would I buy again? Maybe. It is a love/hate relationship. 427052

Comments

I have removed the airbags from my vehicle and replaced them with a set of SumoSprings. I am much happier with the SumoSprings.

Installing this was easy if you follow the instructions and look at video installation as reference. I took my time about 4 hours from start to finish. Ready to help with towing our 30' Coleman travel trailer with our Toyota Tundra to the grand canyon this summer. 524512

Install was easy! Fit right up now drilling. keep in mind that if you live in a cold environment, you may need air brake anti-freeze in the bags, I didn't catch this until after installation and it was a bit tougher to do after the fact. The directions to add the anti-freeze was actually in the Wireless Air Compressor instructions. All this went on my 2016 Ram 2500 Crew Cab 6' 4" bed. Overall, I am very pleased! 469528

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

I put these Air Helper Springs on a 2013 Ram 2500. Installation of the air bags took a little over two hours and was easy following the instructions. No drilling was requited. Just make sure you do not forget to complete a leak check and make sure to cut the airlines with a very sharp cutter. I purchased the Helper Springs to assist the truck springs and reduce sag when pulling our 17,000 Lb fifth wheel toy hauler with a 3,700 Lb tongue weight. I chose this part number because of the jounce bumper since they would prevent the springs from totally collapsing should total air loss occur. They do the job reducing the sag and increasing vehicle stability. Shout out to etrailer.com for excellent products at reasonable prices. 403133

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Installed the AL88200 last year on my 2014 F-150 and its made a major difference in the ride quality while towing! Doesn't matter if i am towing an enclosed trailer with the ATV's or my Fifth wheel camper, the springs allow me to set the level just right and confidently tow over the bumps of the road. Thanks etrailer for getting this product to me so quickly and install was a snap. 486834

Took me 5 hours, working by myself, but I'm 70 years old and it sure takes me longer to get under the van, work, and then get out. Did the drivers side first. Much harder than the passenger side. Had to move the brake line a little. Had to loosen up he exhaust system part of the way to be able to drill into the side of the frame. The passenger side took 1/3 as long. Good quality parts. 241911

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Just finished installing and the one issue was the lower bracket.I believe it could be installed either way, there is a cutout and that part was not easily shown in the pictures. But I got it. Took me about an hour and a half each side.removing the brake cables took the longest because of that and not much room and I didn't have a 13 mms open end wrench. The first thing you must do is remove jounce bumper. They say pry it out with 2 screwdrivers. After 15minutes of prying i have up and got a large (4 inch) channel lock pump pliers and gave it a twist . Out in seconds. Works so much better and no skun knuckles. Looking forward to use ing it soon on my truck camper. It was bottom ing the bounce bumper all the time. 524124

Product was just ok the fit was really not that great. one side always seems to leak down, I have checked and rechecked everything but no luck stopping leak. With air in the system it can be hard to get under most trailers as the trailer jacks don't run up high enough so you are always taking air out and adding air back. For my application I am running the min amount of air and having these problems would have expected it at the higher pressures but not at these low numbers. 384418

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

The product took a little bit to install, but once it was in it worked as expected. Originally I didn't buy a pump and found it was to much of a hassle to always try and get the air just right when wanting to tow as I needed my 5th wheel hitched up first. So I finally installed the compressor that I can control with the remote and this has made a big impact. The air bags help take out some of the bucking I was getting and it also helps level out the backend of the truck. It takes some time to get the right air pressure to your liking, but once you know the number, you can just set it each time. 255680

Installation took about 2 1/2 hrs. on my 2017 Tundra. I thought the instructions were very accurate and easy to follow. I did notice there was no torque spec. for the 3/8 bolts that attached the bottom plate and bowl to the air bag. Other then that everything was straight forward. I'm an old school tech. so I just used a standard USS thread torque chart. I installed these air bags to help stabilize the load when pulling my 32 ft travel trailer. Will be putting them to the test in a couple of weeks on a rather long trip. As for now........5 stars for the installation and etrailers support. 505735

Comments

Lawrence, thank you for your review. The torque spec of the 3/*8 bolt is listed at the bottom of page 7 of the installation instructions. Since these figures are subject to change I cant list them here for liability reasons.

This product is outstanding! I took just a little over 2 hours to install in my driveway using 2 x jack stands and a floor jack. Parts fit perfect and the instructions are clear and very well informed. It took less time to install the bags than it did to find line routes to steer clear of the exhaust and moving parts. I routed the lines to the license plate for discretion, making it easy and clean to adjust the ride height. I recommend this to anyone that tows. 496354

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Works good, followed the instructions to a tee for install I’m a tech at a ford dealership so wasn’t hard to read and install accordingly, good quality in all hardware my issue is one of the airbags has developed a small leak in less than 6 months time and only a handful of uses as instructed always kept 15-20 psi in the bags not sure why one failed or developed a leak but will see how the lifetime warranty works out 615567

Comments

Its fairly rare for the leak to occur in the bags themselves, the point where the air lines join the fittings is a much more likely culprit. The best way to find exactly where the leak is would be to add a little bit of water to a cup with a little bit of liquid dish detergent, and paint it on all the fittings, as well as at the schrader valve where you fill the system. A small paintbrush works well. When the system is pressured up, look for the bubbles and thatll be your leak. Leaks most frequently happen at the fittings because of the air line not being cut perfectly straight. If you find the bags are indeed the culprit, they are covered by a lifetime warranty. You can get warranty info by calling our Customer Service folks at 800-298-8924.

Etrailer did an excellent job through the ordering process and delivery. The air bags are working great. We tow a number of different trailers including 5th wheel campers and they level out the different loads nicely. The reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 is that I installed Firestone air bags on our old Ram 2500 some years ago. The directions were much easier to follow than these Load Lifter bags. 605270

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

One year later and I am still happy with this product. Using these to level and stop any sway of my F250 Super Duty with my slide in 4,500 pound Lance truck camper. Truck and camper does not sway at all even in extreme side winds traveling through Wyoming. Did a lot of remote camping down back country dirt and gravel roads and the vehicle felt stable and secure on these unimproved roads. Still maintaining the same air pressure in the bags from when I set them before a 2 month camping trip over 8 months ago. I was led to believe they would loose air pressure over time but that is not the case as the vehicle remains level and stable after months of being parked waiting for the next adventure. I even installed them myself which was actually pretty easy especially with all the installation videos etrailer provides. This is a must have for anyone who has a full size camper like my Lance 1030 in the back of their truck. 596128

Air bags work great when the truck is fully loaded but the ride is very brutal when the truck is empty and only 5psig in the bags. The internal bump stops appear to be a little bit to long or stiff. The install was very easy and took less then 2 hours, overall very nice product. 581041

  • The AirLift air bag helper springs # AL88284 may lift the back of your 2015 Ford F-150 some but they are not designed just for that purpose and I doubt that you would get a 1 inch lift with as little as 5 psi in the air bags. The bags are meant to fit in between the frame and axle but not increase that gap though that is a byproduct of adding air to the bags. So any lift you get most likely won't be all that noticeable.
