Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 was designed with an exact purpose: to provide full-time, first-class support to your 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, or 1-ton pickup, motor home, or commercial truck. With this kit, you get a safer ride and simultaneously protect your vehicle from the strain that comes with hauling massive loads.

Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts tremendous stress on your vehicle. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even improper and unsafe headlight aim. Fortunately, there is a solution to these problems. By pairing your existing suspension with the LoadLifter 5000, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and give your vehicle the support it desperately needs. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 provides up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity and distributes the weight of your payload to all 4 wheels. As a result, the stress on your OEM suspension is significantly reduced.

LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated independently of one another for front-to-rear and side-to-side leveling. They are made of high-quality, 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends, where the bag is enclosed with a steel cap, because the steel can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. The endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air. Also, LoadLifter 5000 comes with Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which both protect your air springs and beef up the load capacity of the springs.

This system installs with the included brackets and hardware. Just mount the springs, inflate them, and ride. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump air in through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the valves (one for each spring) in an easily accessible area - typically they are installed on the bumper. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately).

Air Lift kits are designed to keep your vehicle at normal ride height. You can find the normal ride height of your vehicle by unloading it and measuring the distance between the bottom edge of your wheel well and the center of the hub. After you find and record this distance, you can regulate the amount of air that you put into your air springs to maintain normal ride height - even when you are hauling a heavy load. You will need to adjust the air pressure in your air bags according to the size of your load.

Along with a lifetime warranty that has no mileage restrictions, Air Lift offers a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Just install and use LoadLifter 5000 springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove them from your vehicle and return them for a full product refund. Now that's confidence.

Video Transcript for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2016 Ford F-150

Today on our 2016 Ford F-150, you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for the rear axle. What these are going to do for us, these are going to help take extra strain off our rear suspension when we're carrying a heavy load. They're going to be constructed of a two ply reinforced rubber, have 5,000 pound weight capacity, and that's combined. Keep in mind that does not increase the load carrying capacity of your vehicle. We're not going to have to drill any holes. Going to mount directly to the existing hole in the reframe, or bottom of your frame rail.

And we're going to have a bracket that sits right on top of our axle. So, they're very easy to install. They can be independently aired up, so if we have an off-center load in the back of the vehicle, we can load up one more or one airbag with more air than the other one to level out our vehicle. Each bag has a PSI rating from five to 100. You just want to make sure you don't .. while you're traveling, you have at least five PSI in each bag.

Want to make sure you don't leave it completely empty. Just going to help your bags last a lot longer. Each bag is going to be double convoluted. What that means is if you notice, it looks like it has two bags. This is actually one bag with a steel band in the center.

How this differs from a single bag is when a single bag compresses, the center of it presses out. This center band keeps this bag center from pressing out when weight is put on it.Before we start our installation, the first thing we need to do is, we need to take a measurement to find out what our normal ride height it. We're going to take a measurement for our back wheels and our front wheels. Let's start with the back. We're going to measure straight down the center of the wheel to this bottom edge of our rear fender here.

Again, this is with no weight in the back of the truck. We're at 39 and a half inches. Now let's take one of the front. Here in the front, we're at 37 and three quarter inches. It's a good idea to take note of those measurements, so that when we add weight, we're able to bring it back up to that normal ride height. Now, as you can see here, we've added our trailer on, and this is an empty trailer. Let's go ahead and take another measurement and see if it did anything. Here at the back, we've dropped a half inch. Again, empty trailer, empty truck. We've already dropped at a half inch. If we put anything on that trailer or anything in the back of our truck, that's just going to make our suspension even sag more. What that's going to do, it's going to put unnecessary strain on our rear axle, because our axle will have to make up for what our suspension can't do. Let's see what it does to the front. Now, our front end is actually raised a quarter of an inch. The more weight we add, the more that front end's going to come up. Well, what is that going to do That's going to take our headlights, going to bring them up off the roadway, make it unsafe, because we're not going to be able to see when we're night driving. It's going to make our steering very light. It's going to affect our braking, and it's going to affect our tire wear. We want to be able to, when we put a load on, bring our suspension back up to normal ride height, to bring our vehicle back up to normal ride height, so that our front end is sitting normal, we have normal braking, steering, and our headlights are aiming safe. Before you start your installation, it's a good idea to go ahead and remove your spare tire and remove your heat shield. For your heat shield on your passenger side, it's very simple. You have one bolt on the inside of your frame rail. You're going to have two right up on top of your spare tire frame. We're going to go right up the center of our inaudible 00:03:42 spot there. We're going to repeat that same process on the other side. Take a 10 millimeter socket. This spring perch here on your driver's side, we're going to take the ABS line and emergency brake line off. We're going to loosen this or actually remove this bolt for now. Just like that. We're going to have that same thing on the passenger side. Here on the front side of our axle on our driver's side, you're going to see two holes on the bottom of your spring perch. We're going to be using the round hole. We're going to have a self-tapping bolt in our kit that we're going to be using to create threads inside that hole. Now, passenger side is going to be a little bit different. It's going to have your emergency brake pedal cable attached to your bracket there. We can use that existing hole, so we won't have to tap that on that side. We'll take this bolt, and we're going to slowly start threading it in place. Make sure it's going in straight. Take your time going in there.Once you've got your bolt all the way in, go ahead and remove it. You're going to have two brackets in your kit that look like this. One's going to have an L, one's going to have an R. We're doing the driver's side, so we're going to be using the one with the L. This flange needs to be on the inside of the frame bracket. This larger hole is going to go towards the back, so it's going to go on just like this. You're going to have two bolts in your kit look like this. Take a black washer, and we're going to thread it right into the existing hole, so the hardware that we removed, our factory inaudible 00:05:49. 11/16ths socket, and we'll tighten that into place. We're going to torque it to the specification in the instructions. You're going to repeat that same process on the other side of the vehicle.Going to take our bracket that looks like this. These tabs here are actually going to fit right in front, and behind, this lower bracket here. It's going to sit right on top of our axle. inaudible 00:06:23 that. Going to wind those up. Take that lower bracket, line it up with the hole. We're going to take this hardware, looks like this, and it's going to replace our factory hardware that we removed. We're not going to tighten these down all the way just yet. We'll just leave these loose for now. We're going to do that same thing with this side, and then we're going to repeat that process on the other side of the vehicle. We're going to have two long carriage bolts like this, two for each side. Going to go in this lower hole. You're going to have to kind of work it in there. We'll have one for the back side of the axle and for the front side of the axle. You're going to have a bracket that looks like this. You'll notice there's a bend in it. This is going to fit on the bottom of our axle here. With our two carriage bolts, we're going to put on a flat washer and a nylon lock nut. We're going to do that on each one of these, then we'll do the same thing on the passenger side. Note where this bolt is running behind these lines, not in front of them. 9/16ths socket. We're just going to tighten this just enough where this lower clamp bar makes contact with our axle. We don't want to over-tighten it at this time. We're also going to tighten these evenly. What we're also going to do is we're going to snug this bracket up against our axle. What you want to make sure is that this lower bracket is in line with our top bracket. We want them to be level like this. We don't want that lower bracket to be turned like this or like this. Want them to be parallel to each other. Then we're going to torque our hardware to the specification in the instructions. Again, as we're doing this, do four or five turns and then switch bolts. Then we're going to repeat that same thing for this bolt, and this one here.Take your bag. You want the three holes facing up. You're going to take the roll plate, line it up with the holes, take your air fitting, and tighten it in or finger tighten it. Once you get it finger tight, 7/16ths socket, one and a half more turns. There's one. There's a half. We're going to have a bracket like this for each side. Again, we'll have a left and right. We want this to be up, so it's going to sit like this. We're going to line up these two holes with the two holes here. This is going to fit around our air fitting. So, it's going to look like that. Going to have a hex bolt lock washer and flat washer. Insert that into the two holes on the top of the bag. Tighten them down. Do not over-tighten. Then we're going to torque those to the specifications in the instructions. Repeat that same thing for the other bag.Slide your bag into place in between your lower bracket and your frame. Our air fitting is going to face towards the wheel or towards the tire. Going to make sure you have enough space in between your two plates. Separate your axle enough that you can get that in there fairly easily. You're going to take a carriage bolt, flat washer, and a lock nut. Take a small carriage bolt. Going to run that through . Actually, we're going to go down through it. The top square, or the square in that top bracket, and the square hole in the bracket on top of our bag. We're going to install a flat washer and then a lock nut. Then for this side, we're going to have one more right over here. Then we're going to do that same thing to the other side. 9/16ths socket, we're going to tighten and then torque these bolts to the specification in the instructions. You're going to repeat that same thing for the passenger side.Bottom roll plate, we're going to slide it in between our bracket and the bottom of our bag. Want this larger hole to line up with that, and then of course our two smaller holes would line up with the two holes there. It'll line up like that, and then we're going to lower our vehicle down just enough where it holds our roll plate in place, but we still need to be able to move our bag back and forth to line it up with the holes in our lower bracket here. Then we'll use the same combination we did on the top side of the bag: hex bolt, lock washer, flat washer. Thread it through the bottom, then we're going to tighten and torque our hardware to specifications in the instructions. Then we're going to repeat that on the other side. You're going to have some airline come in your kit. Take the two ends, put them together like this. Find the center. We're going to cut it in half. That's going to give you an even line on each side. For my driver's side, I'm actually going to go through the frame rail. Let's take our airline. Got to make sure that your end is cut flat. Insert it into your fitting. Make sure you push it in all the way, till it stops. Driver's side, again, I came through the frame rail. Follow this existing line right along the inside of the frame rail here to the back. Wound it up right across the back here. Make sure you remember your spare tire's going here, so if you're going to go over the top, go over the top, but just don't get your lines in place of it or in the way. Then find your location where you're going to be drilling your holes. For the passenger side, because my exhaust is running above my bag right on the inside of my frame rail, I had to go on the outside of it. Went right in front of my hat channel, up above my frame rail, and then up above my spare tire holder. For a bracket, I should say framing. Existing line, right to the back of the vehicle. Ran it through my existing line, zip tied it right to it, right at the back of the vehicle. We're going to take a 5/16ths drill bit. We need to drill into our bumper here. On the back side, there's a metal frame that runs right along this plastic piece, so we don't have a whole lot of space. We're going to be going about right there. We'll have one here, and one about here. I'm actually going to drill it from the back side out. We're going to thread on a nut, and we're going to put on our star washer. Go ahead and insert into the hole. Going to do the same thing with the other one. Then we're going to put on the rubber washer, the flat washer, and a nut. inaudible 00:15:24 this one. Once we get everything installed, we want to add about 70 to 90 PSI. What we're looking for is we're looking for big bubbles. Looks like we're good here on the outside. Once you've made sure you don't have any air leaks, go ahead and reinstall your spare tire and your heat shield, and you're ready to go.With our air bangs installed, we've gone ahead and put our trailer back on our truck. You remember we dropped the back of the vehicle once we added the trailer on a half inch. At the minimum pressure of five PSI, we're actually up to 39 and three quarters. Our normal ride height was 39 and a half inches. So, we're good. We're within a quarter inch of our normal ride height. Now, with this being at the lowest PSI, the highest PSI being 100, we've got plenty of adjustability for anything we may want to add onto our trailer or in the back of our truck. Here in the front, we're back down to normal ride height. What's that going to do It's going to bring our headlights back down to normal. Makes it better for night driving. It's going to make our steering much better. It's going to make our braking much better, and it's not going to wear our tires unevenly. That'll do it for our look at and installation on the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for the rear axle on our 2016 Ford F-150.

The product was delivered in a perfect condition and as scheduled. Very simple installation for 2016 Ford F150. The Ride with 5 lbs is better than the factory ride. I thought it would be a rough based on what others said. The rear height did get raised by 1/2" at 5 lbs. With a good bicycle pump it took 4 pumps to get to 20 lbs., that's much better than getting out the the compressor. 485152

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

About a year ago, I installed this on my 2013 Ram 1500 with the hemi. I pull an enclosed 6x12 trailer with my tools and equipment in it. The trailer has a heavy tongue weight and is driven in city traffic every day. This kit has saved my front tires from wearing any more than they did as well as how easy it is to adjust the height of the truck based on my current load. I recommend it. 295497

I have had the air bags installed for over a year now. From the boat ramp, camper and dump trailer these things just work GREAT. I will add a set of these to every truck i owe from now on! So nice to be able to level you truck out regardless it being a large or small load. They truly give your truck a safer ride when towing! 526431

The addition of the Air Lift is by far something I should have done years ago. I was short in time so I had my local Midas shop install them. They work so well. I only needed 20 lbs. of pressure to level the truck and trailer. On the road, the trailer rode better, braking felt better, and the up and down motion I disliked going over bumps is gone. Awesome product for safety while towing. 568497

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

Have had the air bags installed for 3-4 weeks now. Love them! Huge difference in ride quality when hauling or towing heavy loads. My only criticism is in the design. The left side fit perfect and the bag is perfectly aligned vertically but the right side bag is canted slightly. Almost as if the bottom brackets holes are drilled slightly off. I called the company and was told that up to 15 degrees is acceptable. It just looks as though the bag may wear more but time will tell I guess. I would still recommend. Also looking at purchasing the compressor system to ensure the bags always have adequate pressure. 421216

Great product! Easy install. Tech Tip, On my 2018 F250 in order to install the driver side air bag unbolt the lower shock mounting bolt and swing shock up and out of the way. Have a 2018 28.5 Jayco fifth wheel 1400 LBS pin weight only need 10 psi to level the truck! Rides great! Thanks Again E Trailer 566616

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

Installed this kit a month ago and used it three times pulling my travel trailer. Works as described and has performed as I expected it to. I have a GMC 1500 and no matter if I have my travel trailer with a 600lb tongue weight or 6'x10' single axle trailer with a 160lb tongue weight, with load of course, my truck would squat in the back. I already added a sway control/weight distribution system and now wanted to get my truck in the right configuration while pulling. For safety and performance. After reading a lot of reviews I chose this kit. This kit was easy to install but did take 3 or 4 hours. I wasn't in a rush and wanted to make sure I followed everything in the instructions and not miss anything. I didn't want to rush through it to miss a critical step and then lose brake fluid due to a hole in a brake line. Mainly didn't want to break anything important nor did I want to puncture the air lifts or the poly lines. Kit went on as expected and fit perfectly. The instructions included pictures and examples to follow that illustrate how everything fits and where everything should be routed. I would definitely buy again. 589432

This was an airbag install that took me about 4 hours. I did this in my garage with a minimum of tools. I did end up about an inch higher bed height even with empty airbags and no weight on the vehicle but this may come down with use. The shipping from etrailer was fast and the sales agents have firm grasp of their products and installation procedures. I can always get a straight answer from them. I also ordered the curt under bed gooseneck hitch. This took me about 8 hours to install but I was in no hurry and wanted it done right. Thanks etrailer for great service. 491845

One year later I still like these airbags. My truck rides level and handles smoothly. Without a load, however, its stiff in back and bounces, even with the airbags deflated.

Previously installed Firestone air helper springs in my Ford F250. Wish I would have ordered them instead of the Air Lift helper springs. While quality of Air Lift appears to be good, installation compared to installing the Firestone system is a real bear. Firestone easily as good quality and much simpler/easier to install. 99455

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

I haul a 8' truck camper that pops up, it has a app. 1400 # weight to it. I also pull a 17' Lund boat that is loaded with my 2011 Dodge 1500. When I first put the truck camper on the truck before installation of the air bags, my truck squatted 6", basically it bottomed out. But when I put the air bags on, WOW, what a difference it made. Now when I travel down the road, there is no more swaying, or bouncing like it use to do on my Chevey that I use to haul it all with without any air bags. But now I see Dodge these are put on all their trucks. I am SO HAPPY I purchased these, & would recommend them to anyone. I told my neighbor about them & he put a set on his F2500, to pull his 31' 5th wheel, & he loves them. I was 65yrs. young when I purchased & installed these Air Bags, & was a welder for 45yrs.. nut if you have any doubts weather you can put them on. Well relax the video that shows you how to put them on when you purchased them makes it a breeze. I hope this easess your mind if you are in doubt about making the purchase. And the price I believe was more than fare. Good Luck to All, And May GOD RICHLY BLESS ALL WHO CALL ON HIS NAME. 345917

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

The product arrive in a timely matter as with everything that I have purchased from e-trailer , the only problem I had was there were some lock nuts missing from the package , 2 pouches were opened when I opened the box , [ this was from the factory not e-trailer fought ] the photo's in the installation booklet could have been a little clearer , my truck has sway bars and none of the photo's showed them that I could see and the installation book didn't talk about them , Had to figure it out on my own . Other than that no problems , took about 4 hours to install , a 4 point drive on lift would be a great help , also remove the spare tire , it helps 513733

Air lift suspension is still working great after a year. Had a couple of minor air leaks at first but no problems after I fixed them. Good quality product.

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

I ordered the Air Lift 5000 from etrailer and I was very pleased with doing business with them. I normally order parts from someplace else but I will be using etrailer for all my future needs. The part was delivered on time and etrailer helped me make the right choice for my needs. Helpful, knowledgeable, timely, and provided the right part for the job; 5 stars from me for that. Now onto the Air Lift 5000. I was amazed at how detailed the instructions were. They made it extremely easy to follow the instructions while building the assemblies. Probably one of the easiest part assemblies I have ever put on a truck and definitely the most detailed instructions I have ever seen. Everything bolted directly to stock mounts on the frame and no drilling was required. After getting everything mounted to the truck and installing the air lines, I was a little skeptical about the air line connections and I was afraid of leaks. I filled both air lines to 60 PSI after the install and when I checked the pressure this morning, I was still at 60 PSI. The last thing I will cover is the ride. I have not towed my trailer yet but I am excited for when I do. I dropped the air pressure to 7 PSI this morning and took a 30 mile drive. The difference this part has made is unbelievable. It still rides like a truck but it is much stiffer in the back now when driving on rough roads which adds a huge difference to the ride quality. I can only imagine the difference I will experience when towing my 12k trailer. Overall, I could not be more happy with my purchase. etrailer has 5 star customer service and they sold me a 5 star part. 484223

Came well packaged, all itsy bitsy parts accounted for. Says no drilling required but you will need a cutting wheel or hacksaw to cut a bolt off. Instructions are pretty good but pictures sometimes don't show exactly what you need to know. My favorite part 2 hrs install. We all know that means at least 4. One more hour and I'll be finished. 426268

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

Finished the install last weekend fairly smoothly. I jacked up one side of the truck at a time since I only had one jack. Had to put the jack on cinder blocks to get it high enough to engage the leaf spring front mount. One comment/suggestion for the installation guide. The only thing I struggled with was the parking brake cable. It was exactly in the way of engaging the bottom bracket to the axle. No matter how I moved the bracket it would not clear the cable. Then the light came on, release the brake dummy! Once the brake was released there was plenty of room to engage the assembly onto the axle. Of course, I did put some chalks on the front tires to keep the truck from rolling while I was underneath... No leaks, and it seems to ride much smoother than before. Thanks for a great product, 104826

Comments

I still like the product but it seems to have a slow leak somewhere and will not hold air pressure for a week at the original setting. Guess I need to do a bubble leak test, just have not gotten to it. Other than that the product is great.

Fast shipping and excellent customer service. Will continue to purchase from etrailer. Took about 8 hrs to install the kit. I'm sure that would have been faster for someone who has done it before but I took my time. The air bags work just as I wanted and the kit appears to be high quality materials. If you purchase a kit take your time installing as it's best to fit and refit a couple times on parts of the kit to ensure everything is going as laid out by the instructions. 72041

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

This Loadlifter worked excellent. Put a Lance camper at 2600 lbs. on my Ford F350 crewcab pickup. Despite the camper package option on my truck with extra rear leaf springs, it still pushed the bed end down and the hood side up in the air. Annoying side to side roll as well. The AirLift LoadLifter had very good instructions and was not difficult to install. Drilled five holes in the frame on each side to attach. Plenty of part options to make it a very good fit. Aired up the springs until the camper was perfectly level. Truck now drives level and considerably less side to side roll. This was well worth the price for the performance. 53242

I had this installed by my mechanic, he said no problems, basically just bolted in. I went to pick up my 30' travel trailer and I adjusted the pressure to 20psi before I hooked it up. Before the air springs there was a noticeable sag in the back of the truck with the trailer hitched. With just 20psi in the bags there was barely any sag at all, and the trailer pulled much better. Planning on a trip this weekend and I'll probably increase the pressure up to 30psi to see how that works. Very happy with this product, I wish I would have bought it years ago. 256010

The air bags went in great, and pretty easy. I did not like the recommended location for the air valves. So I put them through the body panels to have them inside the back doors. They work great like that. I just put in a 7/16” grommet in the panel to run the air line through the outside panel. Works great and easy to fill with air. 544314

Quality of the air helper springs appears good. The installation instructions were good and the parts fit as intended. The Air lift Controller One Compressor works well and quickly inflats the air bags. In fact the compressor only needs to run about 15 seconds to fully inflate the springs when they are under no load. I have made several purchases from etrailer and have been very satisified each time. Keep up the good work! 37698

Straight forward install. Allow 6+/- hours to get it right. DO read the instructions. Measure the clear height first and get the optional lift blocks if even close to 7" 338388

Comments

Product works very well. My F250 had the camper package with added helper spring. That increased the spacing and thus the need for the lift blocks. Before the blocks, I was breaking the air fitting off of the top of the bags. Air-Ride was awesome. Replaced the bags and sent additional fittings. I put a T in so they would inflate at the same pressure consistently.

First thing is e-trailer the best to buy from , hands down! Air lift 5000 not a great kit in my opinion . This is not my first air bag install , over 12 so far. Brackets look good , bags fit them good and hardware is ok. The problem is the upper bracket is 3/4k inch short of sitting against frame . Jounce cup is in the way , I tried to mock it up in place but hardware is to short . Jounce cup had to be removed for bracket to fit up to frame , it's welded on . This kit is not what I would average to install . I'll try a different manufacturer next time. 2009 chevy 1500 4x4 crew cab . 176164

These Airlift 5000 Airbags are EVERYTHING they are advertised to be! Ordered them from etrailer and they were here is 5 days with no shipping charge. Price was the same as I would've paid through that big box website but the personalized service I received from Brenden really made the difference. Thanks Bud! I chose to have my local repair shop install them only because I didn't want to take the time to do it myself. I have a 2016 Ram Crew Cab and I haul a 7' X 16' enclosed cargo trailer. I tried to utilize a weight distributing hitch to take care of the rear sag but there was just not enough ground clearance for the torsion bars. Some suggested airbags instead and WOW...what a difference. I can't believe how much better the truck rides even with no load on the truck. Should have bought these a LONG time ago! 657039

Nice product and installation was pretty simple/straight forward. Had a fit issue with left side lower bag bracket sitting to tight to brake line mount on axle for me. Cut ear on mount and moved over .25" and got a good positive clearance. Happy with the product and put over 700 miles on towing the week after installation. 653526

Worked perfect. The only complaint I would have is, I never received the little wire to thread the bolt through. A little duct tape on a piece of wire did the same thing. Another issue was on the jounce bumper - the framework of it, I had to grind a little of it away for the air fitting to cleanly swivel. If I did not, the air swivel was "a little snug". It didn't take much either to fix it. Total install time, doing it by myself around 5 hours. By the picture, you can see where I ground it away. Again - did not have to grind that much, but wanted to be sure. 647862
