  • Adjustable air pressure: 5 psi - 35 psi

Heavy loads can cause the back of your vehicle to sag and add unnecessary stress to your suspension. This stress not only affects your brakes in a bad way, but your tires, headlight aim and handling suffer as well. To improve your vehicle's ability to endure heavy loads, you need to add support to your existing coil springs.

Air Lift's AirLift 1000 adjustable air springs have 1,000 pounds of load-leveling capacity and are made specifically to fit inside your rear coil spring suspension for additional load assistance. You can inflate and deflate these tough, molded polyurethane helper springs as needed, ensuring the perfect amount of support for every load, every time. Easily level your vehicle front to rear, and if you run dual air lines to the air springs at installation, then you can inflate the springs independently of one another for side-to-side leveling. AirLift 1000 is a breeze to install with standard tools and comes with an easy-to-follow instruction manual.

AirLift 1000 comes with manual inflation valves that are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere on your vehicle for easy access. For even more convenience and control, you can add a compressor and gauge system (sold separately), which will let you monitor and automatically inflate your air springs.

Air Lift kits are designed to keep your vehicle at normal ride height. You can find the normal ride height of your vehicle by unloading it and measuring the distance between the bottom edge of your wheel well and the center of the hub. After you find and record this distance, you can regulate the amount of air that you put into your air springs to maintain normal ride height - even when you are hauling a heavy load. You will need to adjust the air pressure in your air bags according to the size of your load.

Air Lift is positive that you will benefit from their air spring suspension system - so much so that they offer a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Install and use AirLift 1000 springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove them from your vehicle and return them for a full product refund.

Video Transcript for Air Lift Vehicle Suspension - Rear Axle Suspension Enhancement - AL60819 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Air-Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs, for the rear. Now this product fits a 2007 to 2015 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX. To insure or double-check that this is a fit for your vehicle you can always use the vehicle fit guide, which is located at etrailer.com. Now this unit provides your vehicle with up to 1000 pounds of load level and support. It really reduces the amount of strain placed on your rear suspension, and it improves both safety and ride quality. Now this is designed to support your existing rear coil spring suspension when you're hauling or towing.

Once installed you'll notice that these really help keep your vehicle level when you're hauling a heavier load, which when your vehicle's level you're gonna notice an improvement in steering, and breaking performance. It helps to maintain safe headlight aim, and it keeps your tires from wearing unevenly. The nice design about Air Springs is you can manually adjust your air pressure to get the even load distribution and support that you need for your application. So you can actually level your vehicle front to rear. You can inflate each spring independently for side to side leveling of off center loads, and that what would be with the installation of dual airlines. With this installed it reduces the strain placed on your OEM suspension that's typically caused by extremely heavy loads.

It improves overall stability and ride quality and diminishes sway. Also absorbs road shock for a nice smooth ride. Now these springs are constructed of durable molded polyurethane. They compress and then install inside your vehicle's rear coil springs. Two air springs, airline tubing, the appropriate spacers, or bushings, and hardware are all included. You get your schrader valves for manual inflation.

You get the T connector. You get some zip ties to secure any excess, or slack in the airline tubing, and so everything you need for your installation is included. Now these feature a load leveling capacity of up to 1000 pounds. Just keep in mind that these will not increase your vehicles weight carrying capacity. So do not exceed the manufacturers recommended weight limit.

You do need to keep air pressure in these, at least five PSI and it has a max air pressure of 35 PSI per spring. The products made in the U.S.A. and covered with a lifetime warranty. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Air-Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs for the rear.

Good Product. Works like they should. I realize the large number of different vehicles and difficulty in making installation instructions for all the slight variations of models. But the instructions were a little hard to follow. I do have mechanical experience, but I still had some trouble with terms used to identify some parts. Also a torx socket is needed to remove the stop bumper located inside the spring and that was one thing that would have been very helpful in knowing, since you can't see it. All in all for the price, a very good product. I will always go to etrailer.com for my trailer needs. 475304

If you tow trailers or carry heavy loads in the bed of your truck or van, you can use Air Lift Helper Springs to keep your vehicle level and free from sagging. It does not affect the ride or steering negatively and is easy to adjust with a compressor, battery-operated inflator or hand pump. 654436

Comments
I forget they are there! Its only when towing trailers or putting something heavy in the bed of the truck, I am reminded that its a very practical upgrade to the trucks suspension. When checking tire pressures I check the airsprings pressure. Pressure s are minimal.

Review from a similar AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

Just installed my new set of air bags (AL60815 Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs) on my 2008 Odyssey. I purchased this model as a replacement to the previous air bags (F4179 Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs) that I purchased from etrailer four years ago. I had to replace them because this winter one of the push on fittings broke off one of the air bags. I have been using those air bags for four years towing my 2200 lbs tent trailer. The only complaint I had was that sometimes air would seep out after towing for a few hours. I suspected it was from the push on fittings. That was the reason I choose this model as they have barb fittings and spring clamps. Very positive connections and tight fits. Installation was very easy as all the holes in the tables were already done from the last install. 1. Somethings to keep in mind, if your shocks are a few years old consider changing them at the same time. 2. Remember to support the table with a jack while removing and installing the retaining bolt for the table. Failure to do that will damage the threads on the bolt and rapidly decompress the spring. 3. When drilling the hole in the table don’t rush. Centering the hole so the valve on the air bag does not force against the edge is very important. Luckily there is a template in the instructions booklet. 4. Running the air line to the passenger side bag can be done through the center cross member. I mounted my valve inside the van to keep it clean and out of the way. Using the tee to connect both bags to a single valve will facilitate inflation and ensure they are both at the same pressure. I will be ordering another set of these air bags when I replace this Odyssey with a newer model in a few years. Kit is very complete. All the parts I needed and did not have to run to the auto parts store. Didn't use the heat shield because where I ran the line it is protected from the exhaust pipe. 647265

Great so far. I had the opportunity to use them all last summer pulling my pop up. Never had an issue of leaking fittings. Very happy with the product. Will definitely purchase again when I trade in my current Odyssey for a newer one in a few years.

Purchased for 2016 Ram that sagged do to a fiberglass cap and boat tongue weight. They level out truck and reduce the number of high beam flashes I get from oncoming traffic. I run 20 psi normally and 25 with boat. I have never had a leak nor problems with truck on a frame lift. Thus is my second vehicle with a set. Highly recommend. 504679

This was the easiest install I've ever done! One hour on a 06 Sienna. The video made it simple. The van drives great with only passengers so far. Roll has been reduced tons. This is the 4th time I've ordered from etrailer. The directions on all the products has been great. Videos are spot on. 227466

Product was easy to install on my 2016 odyssey, I ran the lines to two valves and plumbed them to mount onto the side plate of the new trailer hitch I installed for a really clean and accessible install. Be prepared with a good drill, impact gun and high quality drill bits but the online installation videos make this install a breeze. I didnt even look at the instructions provided with the kit thanks to the videos from etrailer. 274824

Review from a similar AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

I received my air helper springs yesterday and today I got them installed, with no issues. I removed the wheel well liners and jacked up the frame, one side at a time. I did not remove the wheels. I folded the bags and zip tied them as recommended and stuffed them between the top of the coiled spring. Jacking the frame up 4 inches helps spread the coils on the springs. After I ran the hose out the top of the spring perch (or whatever you call it) I found an oval hole in the top of the frame about 8 inches back. I ran the hose into this hole on each side and all the way out the back end of the frame. This should help protect the hose from the exhaust pipe. I drilled two holes not far from the passenger side of the license plate and put the valve stems there. Job done. I will be pulling a 24 ft camper trailer in about a month and look forward to seeing how these work. 432873

I wanted to stop the droop when towing my 21' trailer. Works great. Read the reviews before you start your install. There are many good tips there that are not in the instructions. When folding the flattened air bag for insertion into the spring use zip ties to hold it in the folded position. Even though the second opening the in the spring looks bigger than the bottom opening, use the bottom one as it has a better angle. When applying the air hose to the fittings soak the hose 30 seconds or so in hot water so you can seat the hose all the way onto the fitting. Removing the tire and wheel gives you better access when putting the air hose on the bag fitting. Dropping the spare tire makes routing the air hose to the back a lot simpler. 351976

Review from a similar AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

I just installed my airlift 1000 kit in my 2014 Ram 1500. The installation only took about 90 minutes and only required a pair of pliers, a knife, a jack and some jack stands. I warmed the bags with my floor heater to make them more pliable and softened the air lines with hot water so they install on the nipples easier, as suggested by etrailer's tech tip videos. So far this seams to be a quality kit and is holding air. I haven't tested it under a load yet so I can't speak to that, although I am optimistic based on other reviews. Etrailer's customer support is outstanding and their shipping is quick. I couldn't be happier at this point. 153068

Review from a similar AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

There are 6 in our family and we like to play on our vacations. Which means lots of people and stuff in and on our mini-van, and a bike rack with 5 bikes on the back (and one bike inside). Our old Toyota Sienna clearly sagged under the burden, so when we got a 2011 Sienna which has a lower bumper to begin with, I was nervous about how it would handle everything, and particularly with the bike rack out back if it might even scrape the ground at times (bottom of hills, speed bumps...). I purchased these to help the suspension. They installed relatively easily, and we took our first trip of about 450 miles to Cape Cod and all went well. We had minimal if any noticeable drop in the back of the van, even fully loaded with all six of us, a full rooftop carrier, 5 bikes on the back, and extra seating inside (van sits 8) folded down and that available space also packed. We have only had these for a few weeks and I am a bit of a perfectionist, so these may very well deserve an excellent mark. The only thing that is keeping me from that is that I have only had them for a little while, so if they keep performing as they have so far, I would grade them as excellent. 90454

One year in and they are working very well. I did not test them terribly much this past year, but I have to say what we have done has all gone very well. I am very happy with this purchase and have no complaints.

Installation was easy, and that’s really all I can comment on at this point as I am yet to use it. I’d recommend going from the top of the coil down when trying to install the folded bag. 510670

I am very satisfied with this setup, installed quickly and easily. The van rides and handles better weather empty or full, and it really is nice to not have everyone flashing me at night when the whole family is in the car(low beams). I installed these on my Sienna AWD van, and did invert them so the air connections were at the top of the spring for better air hose routing. In doing so, I lost the shims. The best part was that I emailed AirLift customer service to see if I could purchase the shims. Let's just say I am more than impressed with their response. You dont find customer service like this, they were responsive, and sent me new spacers asap. I would highly recommend these to anyone. 54148

Just what I needed on my Toyota Van. This combined with my Curt Weight Distribution Hitch makes towing my Wolf Pup travel trailer all good! Nice and level now. Easy to install too. I kind of like leaving pressure in them even when not towing to reduce body roll on the van. I ran two separate air hoses on mine so pressure can’t move from one side to the other. 576417

It was as advertised. I particularly like the detailed instructions that clearly covered the installation. Pictures in the diagrams were clear and appropriate. The product is to be used to maintain a level ride without rear end sagging of my van. This will eliminate headlight misalighnment from luggage during family trips. 297983

Review from a similar AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

I installed the air lift I purchased into my 2012 Odyssey today. The install went well but I wanted to point out 2 things: First, since the under side of a 2012 rear control arm isn't exposed, it should be noted in the instructions that the air line must be secured to the airbag before reinstalling the coil spring and reconnecting the control arm bolt. Also, to avoid the exhaust pipe altogether the air tubing can be run through the lower control arms and center frame section, all etrailer would have to do is supply 2 small grommets to prevent wear. I included a picture of the installed airbag and a picture of the tubing running through the center frame section. Neil 45446

Review from a similar AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

System was ez to install. Works great! Make sure you route the hoses so they wont get pinched between the shock coils. Also route the hoses so they are securely anchored but have enough slack for suspension flexing. I tow a 8,000 lb toy hauler with about a 1200lb hitch weight. I have 6” of lift in my Ram 1500 pickup and before the bags the rear was really compressed under the load. With the bags at 30PSI the rear barely dips and drives very stable even over rough roads. Have used the system under load for over 8000 miles of high speed towing, again often over rough roads. Worked great! Only negative is that the inflate nipples and mounting rings corroded quickly. Easily replaceable with stainless parts available at any good hardware supplier. I will be changing the hoses this year as they are not hi quality and its time to change out those. I’ll use a higher quality hose this time. I also use a high end equalizer hitch to help. Both systems work well together. 541945

Been running these for a year with no problems. Just transported about 1,000lbs of stuff in my 2006 Sienna. Before I left I made sure the bags were at 35psi. Van hardly sagged at all. Great addition to a vehicle I use regularly to haul stuff and tow a tent trailer. Installation was moderately difficult. I mounted the shraeder valve next to the fuel fill-up behind the fuel door. I check it every time I change the oil. Seems to lose about 10psi over 5 months. 290500

Great product! The only issue I had was that I bought the kit for a stock height Jeep and they were a little short for my lifted coils. Still stiffened the rear and eliminated the sag even with the fitment issues. I would recommend these for anyone with coil springs wanting to tow or haul anything heavy. 630876

Review from a similar AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

I purchased 2 sets separately for a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. After a year, the hose in one set has a hole that needs to be repaired or all the air is lost and the air bag is useless. The other set needs to be replaced entirely in the other Jeep because the air bags will not hold air. The concept is great, but the product sadly needs some work. 327037

Review from a similar AirLift 1000 in Vehicle Suspension

I installed these on my 2009 Ram 1500. The product was exactly as described and even with being located in Alaska, they arrived super quick! I haven't had the chance to test them out loaded yet as I just installed them last night, but plan on revising my review after the load testing goes! I will note that I installed these differently than stated in the instructions. I lifted the truck off the ground with the axle hanging and removed the rear coils completely and installed the air bag. This seemed like a much quicker and easier route than trying to fish the bag through the coil on the truck. I also routed my air lines in the rear bed stake pockets and under the edge of the bed to protect the valve from the weather. I will add that I have the Tuf-Truck 1223 rear coils and not the stock coils in the rear. I was hesitant to purchase airbags as its not the factory coil, but it worked out perfectly! with the HD coils and Airbags I should have no issues with sag. Overall I am really satisfied with this purchase. Every ram 1500 with coils should have these. 338266

  • Does Installation of Replacement Air Spring on 2010 Ford Edge Require
When installing the Replacement Rear Air Spring for Air Lift AirLift 1000 # AL60319, which is the correct replacement for the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs # AL60819 on your daughter's 2010 Ford Edge, you will need to lift the whole of the vehicle, just as if you were installing them for the first time. You should definitely refer to the instruction manual that came with the springs for guidance; I've also linked these instructions for you to take a look at.

The best trailer wiring option is the Tekonsha kit part # 118519 because it's easy to install and comes with a very reliable converter box.
