Rear Suspension Support

SumoSprings helper springs are great for RVs or motor homes. Heavy rear loads can cause sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the motor home's weight. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

SumoSprings diagram of installation above existing vehicle spring

Each spring in this kit is bolted to two mounting brackets. One bracket is attached to the frame of your vehicle, and the other bracket is attached to the axle, typically above your existing factory leaf spring. Because each helper spring is in full contact at the top and bottom of the suspension's travel, the expanding and contracting action of the SumoSprings enhances your ride under all conditions, not just when it's loaded. And the closed-cell urethane springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

SumoSprings compressing under load

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

SumoSprings expanding to allow play in the suspension

These springs extend in height by as much as 50 percent to allow more movement in your suspension when you're traveling unloaded, making your ride smoother and more comfortable.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings expand and compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

This kit comes with custom-fit brackets that are designed to easily bolt onto your vehicle.

  • Which Hellwig Anti-Sway Bars Should Be Installed on a 2022 Entegra Odyssey 26D
Hey Robert, thanks for reaching out! You are correct that you'll want to install the rear Hellwig Anti-Sway Bar # HE78RR first on your '22 Entegra Odyssey 26D, and then if you still need more help you can install the front Hellwig Anti-Sway Bar # HE26GR. You'll see a bigger difference with the rear bar replacement than you will with the front which is why we recommend changing out the rear first. Some additional upgrades you might be interested in for the the future are a steering stabilizer...

  • Best Suspension Enhancement & Steering Stabilizer For 2023 Jayco Greyhawk 27U
Hi Jeff, I can give you a hand here with suspension upgrades for your 2023 Jayco Greyhawk 27U, though honestly I'd go a different route than the Timbrens # TFEF350 and # TFERSD you mentioned. They'll do their job, but my goodness they can be quite rough on the ride. They are made from a very dense hollow rubber so there just isn't much "give" there and you'll feel it. The better option is definitely SumoSprings because they'll compress based on the weight being transferred so it isn't...

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2018 Forest River Forester Motorhome E-450
Adjustable suspension enhancement would be your best option. This will give you the ability to add the exact amount of additional support you'd need to prevent bottoming out while also not making the suspension overly stiff. So for that you'd want the Firestone Ride Rite kit part # F22ZR which is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Forest River class C 32 ft. on a Ford E-450 chassis. For a compressor kit to make inflating and maintaining the air bags easy we have the Firestone kit part #...

  • Recommended SumoSprings for a 2014 Jayco Greyhawk 31DC
The most common suspension enhancement option for a 2014 Jayco Greyhawk 31DC is without a doubt SumoSprings which is what I recommend. These will do an excellent job of helping to provide additional support, increased stability/ride quality, and decreased sway. I have attached below the correct options for the front and rear. SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-106-47-1 (Rear) SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSF-106-47 (Front)

  • In Which Order Should SumoSprings Be Installed On A 2006 Fleetwood Jamboree Motorhome
It doesn't matter which order you install the SumoSprings on your 2006 Fleetwood Jamboree GT 31W motorhome. Typically the rear needs the most help when it comes to enhancement so that's where most people start, but if you're doing both it doesn't really matter. For your Ford E-450 Chassis you would want the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-106-54-1 for the rear and the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSF-106-47 for the front. I've attached some videos below to help...

Based on the chassis and your weight of your 2012 Ford E-350 cutaway chassis the SumoSprings you'd want the part # SSR-106-47-1 which has a 4,600 lb capacity. The part numbers you mentioned are for a truck chassis.

  • Suspension Enhancement to Help With Heavy Slide-Out on 2025 East to West Entrada 3100FB
Hi Kevin; it looks like your 2025 Entrada 3100FB is built on an E-450 chassis. Air bags would be the best option since you have the most control with side to side leveling. The correct air bags would be the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F22ZR. You will probably want a dual path air compressor like the # AL74000EZ to go with them so you can adjust the air bags wherever you go with the motorhome. If you want an option that doesn't require adjustments or maintenance you can use...

I recommend installing the SumoSprings # SSR-106-47-1 on the rear of your 2023 Ford E-450 Class C cutaway chassis. In my experience I feel these are the best option as they cushion the suspension while the Timbren # TFERSD you found is much stiffer and I find creates a harsher ride. Even with you mentioning your front riding great you should still consider the Front # SSF-106-47 SumoSprings as they will help when you get on roads of lesser quality. Yes, those parts from SuperSprings will fit your 2023 Forest River East-to-West Entrada: - Front # SSF-106-47 - Rear # SSR-106-47-1 It is important to check and make sure you have 7" of clearance from your tire sidewall to the frame of your RV though since you do have a dual-wheel motorhome. If you don't have that clearance then you need the kit # SSR-130-54 instead for the rear part.

  • Recommended SumoSprings For A 2023 Entegra Odyssey 25R Class C Motorhome
SumoSprings are a super popular option to help support the suspension and increase ride quality for motorhomes. The majority of the installs we have come through the shop are typically SumoSprings because they offer a much softer progression instead of a harsh bump like other aftermarket options offer. Since the 2023 Entegra Odyssey 25R has a Ford E-450 chassis you'll want the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-106-47-1 for the rear and the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs...

There isn't a leaf spring helper system that is able to be used on your 2022 Ford E-450 combined with the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-106-47-1. Reason why is these mount on top of the leaf spring pack so a leaf spring helper like the SuperSprings # SSA22 would interfere with the mounting. Along with this I recommend the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System # AL25980 which uses a smart phone or tablet to adjust pressure at any time.
