Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

SumoSprings installed showing separation of 2-piece springs

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings expand and compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts, and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

This kit comes with custom-fit brackets that are designed to easily bolt onto your vehicle.

Always great customer service and speedy delivery.
SumoSprings easy to install, no issues.

by:

Very easy to install. Will keep my Tundra from squatting too much when I tow.

by:

Added 2” spacers on each side so the Sumosprings touch my frame. Relatively easy to install, but centering on the frame was a challenge as the directions tell you to touch the wire harness bracket. I elected to be slightly off center so the bracket did touch to prevent movement and wire damage. Also, once initial installation is performed, you must remove to tighten, which is not in the directions. Overall, the ride has not changed at all and it helps eliminate the drop from my trailer. Highly recommend!

by:

Good product unfortunately it did not solve my ride issue but not at fault of the helper springs. Just bad engineering by GM. The helper springs were very easy to put on, less than an hour to put both front and rears on.

Package arrived intact only 5 days after ordering. Contents undamaged and well packed. On my new 2024 Toyota Tundra the installation was very simple, straight-forward and easy. In my garage I raised the rear of the truck with a floor jack, gathered my tools and started about 45 minutes after the package arrived. Took me about 20 minutes on the drivers side because I lacked any previous experience with this product. Only took about 10 minutes for the passenger side because I was more comfortable after doing the drivers side. I didn't even have to remove the rear tires. Keep in mind that I am a very mechanically inclined yet 68 year old guy laying on a creeper underneath a wet truck. The mounting brackets are very heavy-duty and thickly painted. Actually heavier duty than the originals. Bolt holes in the brackets were exact matches for my Tundra. After lowering the rear of the truck back down there is still approx. 3/4" clearance ( previous 6" clearance measured at the original factory bump-stops prior to removal) between the bottom of the Sumo helper and the axle rest. This is about the amount of clearance I was hoping for---make contact at about 5-1/2". Leaves me about 3/4" free travel during everyday, unloaded driving. Without the Sumo's my truck sagged 3" with 575 lbs camper tongue weight. Raining outside so I'm not going to hook up my camper just to measure the difference today. However, if it now sags even 1 to 1-1/2" less than before, I'll be a happy camper (pun intended).
I gave this a 5-star rating because I received everything exactly as advertised. Also because I can see how this product will absolutely make my camper-towing experiences much more pleasant and safe. And the Limited Lifetime Warranty certainly was a factor. I usually don't take time to write reviews but I was so impressed with the overall quality of this particular product and the ordering process that I felt I owe them that much as a tip.

by:

2023 Tundra SR5 TRD Sport. Install was pretty easy, do take the tires off, makes it a lot easier. Just note that the bolts towards the back of the truck will need to be put in and started prior to the other 2 bolts due to the spring partially covering the hole. See the pics and you can see this. But I did finally tow my 9k camper with these installed and it took out the sag of the truck and the floating side to side was next to zero. And the stuff inside the camper wasn't tossed around near as much as it was without these springs installed.

  • Best Rear Suspension Enhancement For 2024 Ford Bronco
The best rear suspension enhancement for your 2024 Ford Bronco are definitely SumoSprings because they compress based on the amount of weight placed at the rear of your Bronco. So if you are towing, for example, the SumoSprings will take the brunt of the weight put on your truck's rear suspension to counteract sag so you'll be more stable and leveled. There are two options for SumoSprings that fit: - 1,000 lb Capacity: SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs # SS56EV - 1,500 lb Capacity: SumoSprings...

  • Comparing SumoSprings Helper Springs For the Rear Suspension on a 2024 Ford Bronco
The Coil SumoSprings # CSS-1168R are the lightest capacity springs for your 2024 Ford Bronco. These are great when you occasionally feel a light steering feel when carrying normal loads. While they do not have a specific weight capacity like the others due to their design the will help to reduce the amount your rear spring compresses on the portion of the spring it sits inside. The 1,000LB SumoSprings # SS56EV are the next step up. The spring rating is based on the amount of weight it...

  • Recommended Sumo Springs For A 2024 Ford Bronco
We do indeed have SumoSprings for your 2024 Ford Bronco. For you I recommend the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs # SS56EV. These are the 1,000 lb capacity urethane springs. These will help to support your rear suspension while you are towing. So for a smaller 2,000 lb pop up camper, these will be perfect. Progressive load control helps to maintain the factory ride when you are not towing. It is important to note that these will not fit Raptor or WildTrak models, or models with Sasquatch...

  • Best SumoSprings For 2023 Ford Bronco
The best SumoSprings for your 2023 Ford Bronco depends on what you are using them for - just to improve your ride a bit on rougher roads, or to help with sag when you are towing or maybe using an accessory. I'll go ahead and list out the options that fit your '23 Bronco: - Towing/Sag: SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs - 1,500 lbs # SS36EV - Improve Ride on Bad Roads: SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs - 1,000 lbs # SS56EV The 1,500 lb # SS36EV is the black spring and is a bit denser than...

  • Helper Springs For a 2023 Ford Bronco To Reduce Rear End Sag
Yes, we have the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for your 2023 Ford Bronco. These are available in either a 1,000LB # SS56EV or a 1,500LB # SS36EV capacity. This capacity is the amount of weight capacity on the springs at 50% compression. The lighter 1,000lb springs are going to be best if the sag you are experiencing is minimal or you do a lot of off-roading with your Bronco.

  • Comparing SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for a 2021 Ford Bronco
The only difference between the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs part # SS36EV and part # SS56EV which are both fits for a 2021 Ford Bronco is capacity, the former is rated at 1,500 lbs and the latter is rated at 1,000 lbs. If you're just doing some light-duty occasional towing then go with the lesser rated 1,000 lb option but if you're looking to max out your towing capacity with frequent trips then go for the higher rated 1,500 lb option.

  • Will SumoSprings Fit 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands With Sasquatch Package
Yes, the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs # SS56EV will fit your 2021 Bronco. The Badlands trim with the Sasquatch package will not interfere with the installation. • Best Way to Reduce Squat On a 2022 Ford Bronco While Trailer Towing an RV Camper
I have a recommendation for you if you are unable to mount the SumoSprings # SS56EV. The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET is the best way to reduce sag on your 2022 Ford Bronco while trailer towing. This particular system is rated for trailers up to 6,000lbs with a tongue weight of 200-600lbs. It will reduce sag by distributing the weight across your Bronco allowing you to level it. It also has sway resistance that will help keep your trailer tracking straight and will...

  • How Can I Eliminate Sag On A 2022 Ford Bronco Badlands With Sasquatch Package
Hello Bob, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, the sasquatch package is going to be a major limiting factor for your suspension enhancement option. Currently none of the aftermarket suspension upgrades we offer will fit a 2022 Bronco with the sasquatch package. This is also true for the Wildtrak and Raptor models. Adding a weight distribution hitch to the trailer would be one way to help level your ride, since there are no options for the vehicle side. If you can tell me the GVWR...

  • Do SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs Fit 2022 Ford Bronco With 2 Inch Spacer Lift
While we have an option for you, the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs # SS56EV will not work with the 2 inch spacer lift on your 2022 Ford Bronco. Instead, for suspension help I recommend using the Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for Coil Spring Suspension # CSS-1168R. The lift won't interfere with the fit or the function, and will provide your Bronco with the rear support you are looking for. I have added a link below to a video review of the # CSS-1168R to check out as well.

  • Will SumoSprings Require Spacer on 2025 Bronco Badlands
Hey Chris! SumoSprings typically recommends a 1/2" - 1" gap between the helper springs and the point of contact. The larger the gap the longer it takes for the springs to engage and vice versa. The 1/2" spacers that come with the # SS56EV are optional so it is really up to you. If you want them to engage sooner you can add one or two of the spacers to close up the gap. Personally, I would see how it rides without them, ideally with and without a heavy load/trailer. You can add the spacers...
