Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 was designed with an exact purpose: to provide full-time, first-class support to your 3/4- or 1-ton pickup, motor home, or commercial truck. With this kit, you get a safer ride and simultaneously protect your vehicle from the strain that comes with hauling massive loads.

Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts tremendous stress on your vehicle. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even improper and unsafe headlight aim. Fortunately, there is a solution to these problems. By pairing your existing suspension with the LoadLifter 5000, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and give your vehicle the support it desperately needs. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 provides up to 5,000 pounds of load-leveling capacity and distributes the weight of your payload to all four wheels. As a result, the stress on your OEM suspension is significantly reduced.

LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated independently of one another for front-to-rear and side-to-side leveling. They are made of high-quality, two-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends, where the bag is enclosed with a steel cap, because the steel can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. The endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air. Also, LoadLifter 5000 comes with Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which both protect your air springs and beef up the load capacity of the springs.

The system installs easily, with many kits requiring no drilling at all. Just install, inflate and ride. And using the system is easy too. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump air in through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the valves (one for each spring) in an easily accessible area - typically they are installed on the bumper. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately).

Air Lift kits are designed to keep your vehicle at normal ride height. You can find the normal ride height of your vehicle by unloading it and measuring the distance between the bottom edge of your wheel well and the center of the hub. After you find and record this distance, you can regulate the amount of air that you put into your air springs to maintain normal ride height - even when you are hauling a heavy load. You will need to adjust the air pressure in your air bags according to the size of your load.

Along with a lifetime warranty that has no mileage restrictions, Air Lift offers a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Just install and use LoadLifter 5000 springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove them from your vehicle and return them for a full product refund. Now that's confidence.

Video Transcript for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs Installation - 2007 Fleetwood Bounder Motorhome

Speaker 1: Today in our 2007 Fleetwood Bounder, we're gonna be installing Air Lift's Lift Loader 5000 air helper springs, part number AL57140.This is what our air bags are gonna look like when they're installed. You'll get one for both the driver's side and passenger's side. It's going to mount between the frame of your vehicle and your front suspension here on your front axle. Here you can see our suspension with no air helper springs going over various terrains. And now you can see our suspension with our air bags installed, and now you'll notice that it's much more stable. There's not as much oscillation between our suspension and our frame, and overall, it's just a smoother ride. These air springs are gonna provide you with up to five thousand pounds of low bellowing support. This will reduce strain on your suspension and both improve safety and ride quality.

This allows you to level out an uneven load, so if it's tilting to one side or to the front or the rear, you can adjust this with these air helper springs. One of the benefits of having a level ride is that it improves steering and braking performance, because it keeps your suspension geometry in correct plane. It's also gonna decrease tire wear by making sure that the alignment is correct, this helps keep your tires level and going down the road straight so they don't scrub or rub on the road. You can also use it to help maintain proper headlight aiming, 'cause if you're loaded too far in the rear, the front's gonna lift up and your headlights are gonna point up towards the sky. If you're loaded too much in the front, it's gonna sag down the front, aiming them towards the ground. This way you can maintain that levelness and return those straight and have a nice, safe ride at night. The air bags themselves have Air Lift's exclusive upper and lower roll plates. These are constructed of steel and will help increase the load capacity of the air springs, protecting the springs from damage and extended the life of the air spring suspension. The air bags are constructed of two-ply fabric reinforced rubber, and the end caps are made of a high-strength nylon, which is lighter, stronger and more corrosion resistant than steel.

You can adjust the air pressure between five and 100 PSI to get the perfect, level ride. It comes with all the hardware you'll need to get it installed, including the air lines and fittings. You'll receive two manual air valves, so you can adjust both the right and left side. And our customer here has opted to install air bags for both the front and the rear, for complete suspension, load leveling control. We'll begin our installation under the front of the vehicle, we're on our driver's side here. We're gonna verify if you have a Jounce bumper, if you have one installed on yours, you're gonna need to remove it. We're gonna remove it using a half-inch socket, and we'll do the same thing on the other side as well. We'll now prepare our air bags.

We'll start by installing our air fitting into the air bag, that'll just thread into the hole here. You'll know you have the right side because there will be three holes on this side, the other side only has two holes. You'll wanna put it on the hole that's towards the outside. We'll then tighten that down using a 7/16ths wrench. You'll wanna make sure that you've got at least a couple of threads of sealant threaded down inside. That will ensure you won't have any leaks.

Now we'll install our top mount, that'll just sit into place there. We'll use the shorter bolts that come with it. Put on a lock washer followed by a flat washer, we're gonna thread one into each of those holes. We just want them to be hand tight for now, as we wanna be able to adjust it once we get it into position. And we'll do the same thing with our other air bag. Now we'll install our bottom bracket, and this is gonna be oriented depending on which side.So now that we've got each of our air bags like this, our driver's side will have this facing towards the outside, as this will butt up against the outside of the frame, and we'll want this bracket with the square holes facing towards the rear. If you're doing your passenger's side, it'll be just like this, as we want this towards the outside of the frame. So we're gonna be installing our driver's side now. So we'll have it oriented like this. So we'll flip it over, and we're going to be using the slotted holes that are on the same side of our air fitting. We're gonna use the same hardware that we did on the top bracket, that includes the bolt, lock washer and flat washer and thread it into those holes.Once we've got those started, we are gonna tighten these all the way down. You wanna take your bracket and push it all the way, so that way you've got it as close to center as possible. So we've got our bolts all the way up against the inside of the slots. We'll then tighten those down with a 9/16ths socket, and then we'll torque them to the specifications found in your instructions. The easiest way to do this would be to put your bracket in a vice, if you don't have a vice, you can support it between your legs and then torque it down. We'll now position our air bag above our leaf spring with the lower bracket on each side of the leaf spring U-bolts. Slide it all the way in, we'll take the long carriage bolts that come in the kit, slide them down through the backside of our lower bracket. Then on the bottom, we're gonna place our lower bracket, this will slide on to each of our carriage bolts.Once you've got that slid into place on each carriage bolt, you're gonna place one of the medium-sized washers followed by one of the locking nuts. We'll then tighten those down with a 9/16ths socket. You wanna go back and forth to make sure you tighten them down evenly. You may need to hold the top of the bolt down to keep it in place, then torque them to the specifications found in your instructions. We'll now need to drill out our upper bracket mounting hole. Now there are two slots here on our upper bracket, but it's only held into place using one bolt and you can put this in either of these slots. So whichever one's easier for you to get to is the one I would put it in. It's gonna be drilled to a half-inch size. What I like to do is start by marking the hole that I'm going to drill with my half-inch drill bit.I wanna put it towards the top of the slot, you don't wanna go all the way up, 'cause it is slotted for a reason and we're just gonna mark. We're now gonna drill out that marked spot using a quarter-inch drill bit. We can then step it up to that half-inch size. You now wanna hold your air bag up until it's nice and square with the side of your frame and tighten down those bolts we left loose earlier. This way we know that the hole in our frame is gonna line up with our bracket, and that our bracket's gonna be nice and square after we tighten it all down.So then pull the air bag out, and torque your bolt to the specifications in your instructions. We'll now take the large bolt that comes in the kit, slide on a lock washer followed by a flat washer, we'll slide that from the outside of the frame through our bracket and secure it on the other side with a nut. We'll then tighten this down using a 3/4 inch socket and wrench. We'll then go back and torque it to the specifications found in our instructions. And now with this side fully installed, we'll repeat the exact same procedures to install the one on the other side. Now all we need to do is connect our air hose to our air bags, and then route it to whatever mounting location you want it on your vehicle. Typically you'd mount this towards the front in your front compartment. Our customer requested to have his mounted at the rear of the vehicle as he already has rear air bags installed, and he wants the fittings mounted right next to it.Now you are gonna see some red airline tubing here. Now this doesn't come with the kit, we needed additional airline tubing to meet our customer's request. If you wanted to mount yours in a location that's gonna require more airline tubing, you can pick some up here at etrailer.com.And now you do get around 15 feet with your air bag kit, however for our situation here, it wasn't going to be enough. In order to connect our new airline tubing to the tubing that comes in our airline kit, you're gonna need some unions which you can also pick up here at etrailer.com with part number F3079-1.We'll now plug our airline into our air bag. Now if you're routing it from the air bag up, you just plug in the end that you have. We're gonna need to cut ours to the appropriate length, so you can use a pair of tubing cutters, we're using a pair of hose cutters just to make sure we get a nice, clean square cut. That's important to make sure it seals properly. The airline that comes with you kit is a solid piece that has fittings on each end, so you are gonna need to cut it in half in order to be able to plug one end into each air bag. And this simply plugs right into our fitting. You just plug it in, I like to push in and out just to make sure that it's fully seated. You'll do the same thing with your other air bag.You can then route the lines to wherever you'd like them to be mounted. It may be necessary for you to drill holes, we had to drill some holes on ours, and we used a 9/32nds drill bit to get those holes drilled. So as you can see here, we routed our tubing down along the driver's side frame following the wiring that already was pre-existing. We zip-tied along that wiring as we went down the frame, and followed it all the way down to our rear-most compartment on the driver's side. And now here over our rear wheel, is where our new airline tubing met up with the tubing that comes in our kit. You can see the union here, this connects just like the fitting located on our air bag. One end just pushes in until it seats, and the other end does the exact same thing. This will create an airtight seal, conjoining the two pieces together. Then the rest of the black airline tubing from our union, just continued on down the frame rail, until we got into our rear compartment here. That's where we drilled our holes and mounted our fittings. For your fittings, you'll wanna put a nut on each one followed by a star washer. You'll slide that through the hole that you drilled, and on the opposite side, we'll place a rubber washer followed by a flat washer and another nut. You can then thread on your caps if you'd like, although we do need to place some air in our air bag system. We've gone ahead and labeled them since he did already have some pre-existing fittings, so he knows which one is the new fittings. These labels do not come with your kit, as typically you won't have ones right next to it. But all of the hardware to get these fittings mounted does come with our kit. We're now gonna air both of them up to about 35 PSI and then check for leaks. It doesn't take long to hit 35, so do it in short spurts. And then to check for leaks, we're gonna spray all of our fittings and connection points with some soapy water. If you see the presence of bubbles, that indicates you have a leak, and you may need to tighten down or repair your fitting. We have no issues here so we're gonna move onto our fittings up at our air bags as well as the union along the way. And finally, we'll check our air bags, and since there's no bubbles present there either, our system is leak free. We're now ready to go on our first test drive. And that completes our installation of Air Lift's Lift Loader 5000 air helper springs on our 2007 Fleetwood Bounder.

Awesome product fairly easy to install. Noticed a big difference when towing vehicle feels great and handling was improved. Vehicle would squat when towing a 25 foot trailer now sits leveled and has a firm ride. 679869

High quality and heavy duty. Good instructions as well. Just got them installed yesterday on my 2009 F-150 crew cab with 6.5' box. I also have the B&W turnover gooseneck ball hitch and my main concern was still being able to mount these. Fit like a charm, no interference at all. I wish I would have purchased them sooner. Sometimes we haul loads that might be just a bit heavy for an F-150, but we are careful. These will certainly help. I have similar air bag type suspensions install on our other two work trucks and I love them. What I did was got myself a 1/4" compression tee and plumbed both air bags into one valve. That way, they air up evenly. It comes with everything to air up each bag separately but I prefer them to be the same. They cost about $6 at any hardware store. I mounted the single air fill valve near the drivers tail light inside the box facing forward. There is an opening where the tail light harness runs up and I followed that with the air valve. I drilled a hole and snaked a tie wire down and through some finagling I managed to get the valve out the hole and mounted. Looks good and is out of the way. Install took me about 5 hours from tools out to tools away, but I was not in a big hurry. I aired them up to 70 psi and drove home looking like a hot rod with the back kicked up. Checked the air pressure this morning and all is well. No leaks as far as I can tell. Highly recommended and a great price as well. 643462

I have a 2019 Nissan Titan XD with the 5.6 GAS motor. Wanted to do an Airlift suspension to provide a little support and get my headlights perfectly back to level when towing my travel trailer. No one makes an airbag kit for the gas XD, but after discussing it some with John H at etrailer, I decided to go with the kit for the diesel truck and see how things went. The kit for the diesel truck fit perfectly, except that there is an emissions component hung from a bracket on the driver's sign frame that prevents a direct install of the driver's side bag. My shop was able to install the kit with no trouble - they just had to bend the bracket with the small emissions component attached upwards for clearance. Everything else went in as designed. Great fit - can't wait to see it work under load. 669525

I have had the air bags installed for over a year now. From the boat ramp, camper and dump trailer these things just work GREAT. I will add a set of these to every truck i owe from now on! So nice to be able to level you truck out regardless it being a large or small load. They truly give your truck a safer ride when towing! 526431

Have had the air bags installed for 3-4 weeks now. Love them! Huge difference in ride quality when hauling or towing heavy loads. My only criticism is in the design. The left side fit perfect and the bag is perfectly aligned vertically but the right side bag is canted slightly. Almost as if the bottom brackets holes are drilled slightly off. I called the company and was told that up to 15 degrees is acceptable. It just looks as though the bag may wear more but time will tell I guess. I would still recommend. Also looking at purchasing the compressor system to ensure the bags always have adequate pressure. 421216

Came well packaged, all itsy bitsy parts accounted for. Says no drilling required but you will need a cutting wheel or hacksaw to cut a bolt off. Instructions are pretty good but pictures sometimes don't show exactly what you need to know. My favorite part 2 hrs install. We all know that means at least 4. One more hour and I'll be finished. 426268

The addition of the Air Lift is by far something I should have done years ago. I was short in time so I had my local Midas shop install them. They work so well. I only needed 20 lbs. of pressure to level the truck and trailer. On the road, the trailer rode better, braking felt better, and the up and down motion I disliked going over bumps is gone. Awesome product for safety while towing. 568497

About a year ago, I installed this on my 2013 Ram 1500 with the hemi. I pull an enclosed 6x12 trailer with my tools and equipment in it. The trailer has a heavy tongue weight and is driven in city traffic every day. This kit has saved my front tires from wearing any more than they did as well as how easy it is to adjust the height of the truck based on my current load. I recommend it. 295497

The Airlift airbags I installed on my 2015 Ford F-150 were easy to install and everything fit as described. I have made several purchases from etrailer.com and am very satisfied with the products they sell and the speed in delivery. 211609

One year later I still like these airbags. My truck rides level and handles smoothly. Without a load, however, its stiff in back and bounces, even with the airbags deflated.

The product was delivered in a perfect condition and as scheduled. Very simple installation for 2016 Ford F150. The Ride with 5 lbs is better than the factory ride. I thought it would be a rough based on what others said. The rear height did get raised by 1/2" at 5 lbs. With a good bicycle pump it took 4 pumps to get to 20 lbs., that's much better than getting out the the compressor. 485152

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

Installed this kit a month ago and used it three times pulling my travel trailer. Works as described and has performed as I expected it to. I have a GMC 1500 and no matter if I have my travel trailer with a 600lb tongue weight or 6'x10' single axle trailer with a 160lb tongue weight, with load of course, my truck would squat in the back. I already added a sway control/weight distribution system and now wanted to get my truck in the right configuration while pulling. For safety and performance. After reading a lot of reviews I chose this kit. This kit was easy to install but did take 3 or 4 hours. I wasn't in a rush and wanted to make sure I followed everything in the instructions and not miss anything. I didn't want to rush through it to miss a critical step and then lose brake fluid due to a hole in a brake line. Mainly didn't want to break anything important nor did I want to puncture the air lifts or the poly lines. Kit went on as expected and fit perfectly. The instructions included pictures and examples to follow that illustrate how everything fits and where everything should be routed. I would definitely buy again. 589432

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

I haul a 8' truck camper that pops up, it has a app. 1400 # weight to it. I also pull a 17' Lund boat that is loaded with my 2011 Dodge 1500. When I first put the truck camper on the truck before installation of the air bags, my truck squatted 6", basically it bottomed out. But when I put the air bags on, WOW, what a difference it made. Now when I travel down the road, there is no more swaying, or bouncing like it use to do on my Chevey that I use to haul it all with without any air bags. But now I see Dodge these are put on all their trucks. I am SO HAPPY I purchased these, & would recommend them to anyone. I told my neighbor about them & he put a set on his F2500, to pull his 31' 5th wheel, & he loves them. I was 65yrs. young when I purchased & installed these Air Bags, & was a welder for 45yrs.. nut if you have any doubts weather you can put them on. Well relax the video that shows you how to put them on when you purchased them makes it a breeze. I hope this easess your mind if you are in doubt about making the purchase. And the price I believe was more than fare. Good Luck to All, And May GOD RICHLY BLESS ALL WHO CALL ON HIS NAME. 345917

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

This was an airbag install that took me about 4 hours. I did this in my garage with a minimum of tools. I did end up about an inch higher bed height even with empty airbags and no weight on the vehicle but this may come down with use. The shipping from etrailer was fast and the sales agents have firm grasp of their products and installation procedures. I can always get a straight answer from them. I also ordered the curt under bed gooseneck hitch. This took me about 8 hours to install but I was in no hurry and wanted it done right. Thanks etrailer for great service. 491845

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

I ordered the Air Lift 5000 from etrailer and I was very pleased with doing business with them. I normally order parts from someplace else but I will be using etrailer for all my future needs. The part was delivered on time and etrailer helped me make the right choice for my needs. Helpful, knowledgeable, timely, and provided the right part for the job; 5 stars from me for that. Now onto the Air Lift 5000. I was amazed at how detailed the instructions were. They made it extremely easy to follow the instructions while building the assemblies. Probably one of the easiest part assemblies I have ever put on a truck and definitely the most detailed instructions I have ever seen. Everything bolted directly to stock mounts on the frame and no drilling was required. After getting everything mounted to the truck and installing the air lines, I was a little skeptical about the air line connections and I was afraid of leaks. I filled both air lines to 60 PSI after the install and when I checked the pressure this morning, I was still at 60 PSI. The last thing I will cover is the ride. I have not towed my trailer yet but I am excited for when I do. I dropped the air pressure to 7 PSI this morning and took a 30 mile drive. The difference this part has made is unbelievable. It still rides like a truck but it is much stiffer in the back now when driving on rough roads which adds a huge difference to the ride quality. I can only imagine the difference I will experience when towing my 12k trailer. Overall, I could not be more happy with my purchase. etrailer has 5 star customer service and they sold me a 5 star part. 484223

Previously installed Firestone air helper springs in my Ford F250. Wish I would have ordered them instead of the Air Lift helper springs. While quality of Air Lift appears to be good, installation compared to installing the Firestone system is a real bear. Firestone easily as good quality and much simpler/easier to install. 99455

Air lift suspension is still working great after a year. Had a couple of minor air leaks at first but no problems after I fixed them. Good quality product.

The product arrive in a timely matter as with everything that I have purchased from e-trailer , the only problem I had was there were some lock nuts missing from the package , 2 pouches were opened when I opened the box , [ this was from the factory not e-trailer fought ] the photo's in the installation booklet could have been a little clearer , my truck has sway bars and none of the photo's showed them that I could see and the installation book didn't talk about them , Had to figure it out on my own . Other than that no problems , took about 4 hours to install , a 4 point drive on lift would be a great help , also remove the spare tire , it helps 513733

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

Finished the install last weekend fairly smoothly. I jacked up one side of the truck at a time since I only had one jack. Had to put the jack on cinder blocks to get it high enough to engage the leaf spring front mount. One comment/suggestion for the installation guide. The only thing I struggled with was the parking brake cable. It was exactly in the way of engaging the bottom bracket to the axle. No matter how I moved the bracket it would not clear the cable. Then the light came on, release the brake dummy! Once the brake was released there was plenty of room to engage the assembly onto the axle. Of course, I did put some chalks on the front tires to keep the truck from rolling while I was underneath... No leaks, and it seems to ride much smoother than before. Thanks for a great product, 104826

I still like the product but it seems to have a slow leak somewhere and will not hold air pressure for a week at the original setting. Guess I need to do a bubble leak test, just have not gotten to it. Other than that the product is great.

The air bags went in great, and pretty easy. I did not like the recommended location for the air valves. So I put them through the body panels to have them inside the back doors. They work great like that. I just put in a 7/16” grommet in the panel to run the air line through the outside panel. Works great and easy to fill with air. 544314

All in all great product Bolts could be a better grade had one carriage bolt break, I've never or even heard of that happening to anyone before maybe a fluke. Hour and a 1/2 install even with carriage bolt breaking. Would be 5 star if that wouldn't have happened. 672928

Received via UPS very fast. Box was a little ragged and the UPS driver waited as I opened it to make sure it was ok. One of the plastic bags holding nuts and bolts had come open allowing them to rattle around inside the box but only was missing a single flat washer. Easy install, I took a lot of breaks and I’m a little slow getting up and down so it took 4 hours. Held pressure overnight. I’m going to haul our 40 ft 5th wheel in a couple of days looking forward to using the air bags 671822

It has changed the ride on my vehicle for everyday driving. It is a very rough ride. 667714

Comments

The nice feature of air springs is that you can custom tailor the ride to just about any situation. Carrying a full load?- Add more air for less sag and more stability. Less weight on the vehicle when youre not hauling? - Let some air out of the suspension for a softer, more pliable ride.

Can’t say enough good things about etrailer.com, it’s professional and courteous staff and the quality products they carry. This is the second pair of Air Lift Ultra 5000s and associate hardware (extra hose kit and t-fittings). I normally call sales when I order just to make sure the product(s) I’m ordering are in stock and especially if I have a lower price compare, it seems to expedite processing and delivery. Special thanks to Tammie (Sales) and Sarah (Customer Service) for their over-and-above assistances and quick processing. My order was on the way immediately and received in great shape in 3 days. Definitely a satisfied customer! 667525
